  1. EDIT: Thought about what I posted and then realized that it doesn't make sense... EDIT 2: Anyone can use ^that^ as a sig if they want...http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. Perhaps the Angels learned their lesson of hording prospects after the Dallas fiasco and Mathis' demise. You can only start one pitcher and eight position players per game... I think you're learning the wrong lesson. Prospects flame out, get as many as you can. Get three players for Overbay, get two for Ginter, get six for Sexon...
  3. I gotta say it seems pretty silly to shift the roster size up and down in the middle of the season. Really. What the heck is the purpose of that?
  4. Another reason why I don't watch Cold Pizza.
  5. But, he might also think that since they are not a high revenue team, he should hold on to as many of his young/cheap/good players as he can. Unless they get young/cheap/good players in return. If we didn't have Ryan Braun, I might see the point in going for him, but the fact that we only need a half or one season stop-gap I wouldn't pay the price it would take.
  6. You do realize he's playing in Houston now right? With the ridiculously absurd 200-somthing foot fence (well it certainly feels that way) in left field, he'll probably hit 10 more HR's next year. I loved this chart when I saw it. Craig Biggio's home runs last year: http://www.hittrackeronline.com/parks/Biggio_Craig_2006_scatter.jpg
  7. Yo² Sweet! EDIT: Where did you learn that? Is there a list of keyboard shortcuts for ezboard somewhere? (The more keys you have to press, the more impressive)
  8. Jackson made 8 starts last year. He was usually pretty effective the first time through the order. As guys adjusted to his funky delivery, he got hit harder. Fair point. 1.06 ERA first time through the order, 6.00 ERA second time. But these are still pretty small samples - 16 inning and 12 innings, repectively. I'd rather see him starting in AAA than in our pen, but I'm more content with our pen than most.
  9. Melvin Mora? No thanks. Graffy/Counsell would probably put up about the same numbers as he did last year. The three years prior to last he had a .905 OPS. I would never expect him to return to that, especially at his age, but he is probably better than his last year .733 OPS. I'd be willing to take a chance on him. But again, this is a moot point because of the no-trade clause.
  10. I kind of like it, but Mora has a no-trade clause. Sorry.
  11. It's been brought up before, though that was a few months ago, IIRC. If he were LH, it would make a lot of sense. But now that Jenkins has seemly accepted a platoon role, I'd rather hang on to him than make that trade. EDIT: Not to mention that I think Benitez lost it two years ago.
  12. I can only hope that it's fixed when we migrate to Yuku. Which I am not looking foward to. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  13. Sometimes as I'm navigating the forums, ezBoard will suddenly log me out and I'll have to resign in. This happens on the two computers I use, and sometimes it won't happen for a week while other times it will happen 20 min after I log in, so it can't be a timed logout or anything. Does this happen to anyone else?
  14. There your go, DoA. Hinske has great splits against RHP and would make an excellent platoon option at 3B.
  15. The '08 prep class should be much better than this year's. There is Muson and Theis as noted, as well as a RHP from Green Bay named Chris Wakefield that has touched the low-90s and another player from Southern Door whose name currently escapes me. Wakefield plays at my former high school, I was watching for his name as I was reading your post. Hardest thrower I've ever seen at his age. (Not that I see a lot.)
  16. I think they send out quite a few of those letters. One of my friends who now plays for the Green Bay Billys got a letter from a big league team while in high school, but then never got drafted or anything. Just telling them they are watching them, keep it up, ect.
  17. I don't think its trying to really accomplish anything, just an activity for entertainment during a slow time in the offseason.
  18. No offense, its a nice graphic, but I hate pictures in sigs. Annoys the crap out of me. Just personal preference though.
  19. It's hard to break out in Brevard County, where he'll probably be this year, so his numbers might not jump until he reaches Huntsville. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Huntsville a good pitchers park as well? I used to have minor league park factors bookmarked, but I lost them.
  20. Anyone know where I can get the webisodes from?
  21. I would really like that, good idea. Only negative with Quinlan is that he doesn't walk much. But he would be a very good stop gap in the event Koskie can't go and then an excellent contact hitter off the bench or even platoon mate with Gross in LF the following year.
  22. All previous statements echoed.
  23. As any critic of law can tell you, the only difference is who wrote the opinion. Yeah, I realize it was a different writer, just pointing out the inconsistencies of two back-to-back articles.
  24. Yeah, and then in the next article they have Bailey and Hughes as the #3 and #4 prospects, and Gallardo as #24 with multiple pitchers between them.
  25. Nice love for Gamel and Ford.
