  1. I really wish I was still in Madison right now. Student >>>>>>>> Full time employment. Luckily, I have two semesters left. I'm really warming to the idea of grad school...
  2. Its understandable, but putting weekend games (or more of them) would allow the non-Milwaukee BF.net community to utilize the offer more. Other than that, I'm not sure how you can complain about ticket discounts. I've used it once (Memorial Day) and everything was great.
  3. Along this line: "Pabst, MillerMillerLite, Old Styyyyyllllllleeeeeee!" would be a good name.
  4. Cain's K/BB has been trending the wrong way. Maybe he has to potential to become an ace, but he is not currently one. Anything more than just Hardy would be an overpayment - his ERA and record misleads.
  5. Max Walla is definitely going to be a fan favorite if he makes it.
  6. On a rerun of Family Feud the other day, Richard Dawson took suggestions in a hat for names for his/someones new cat, and first he pulled out "Honky Cat" but he didn't like it, so then he pulled out another and it was "Feud Dude." Anyway...
  7. Any chance Arnett goes straight to Appleton once he signs? Last few years I can't think of any pitchers that have gone straight to A-ball, guys drafted early anyway. (Not all that many to choose from.)
  8. Last year's Lawrie-Odorizzi combo was pretty exciting as well, but I agree - after yesterday's couple hour crash course in today's eligible players (and the high level of trust in the collective BF.net mind), I'm very pleased with the first few rounds. (Nickname: Maxwell Wallabanger?)
  9. Exactly. An agent probably would risk one player in order to increase his bargaining power in contract talks for all his other players. If I'm a player and my agent tries to force me into Indy ball for a year, I tell him to go to hell.
  10. .347 not counting today. Last season he had a .380. His LD% is down 2% this year, and he only has 4 bunt hits so far. So based on just that quick glance, I would say even .347 is a tick high, but its close to what his career average BABIP might be. (.320ish-.330ish by my extremely rough estimate.) EDIT: Or, what Kow beat me to posting.
  11. Maybe that wasn't exactly how it went in my mind, but it was something like that, I assure you.
  12. I almost started this thread about a week or so ago, but literally thought "I'll let Conor start it." For some reason I thought you (among many) would really like his 'stach. Its pretty epic.
  13. Yeah, he has that odd twisting he does with his front ankle. Probably should ditch that.
  14. My sister got her room today too - she's in Smith.
  15. The options are Peavy or Parra + $17 million dollars. Assuming your estimates are correct, and we'll say a two win player costs roughly $10 million per year, we are actually losing out in a Peavy for Parra deal straight up.
  16. He would help the Brewers by going to Nashville by getting better while playing everyday, and possibly extending his time in Milwaukee by a season. And if he's capable to platoon, he's capable to play everyday given the fact he has hit lefties every bit as well as righties in the minors. Hall can get his ABs against LHP while playing 2B.
  17. Escobar does a lot of exciting things well - defense, baserunning, bunting. However, getting on base is still not one of those things, nor is hitting for power - especially at an sufficient MLB level. What's the rush? Its unlikely he's a better option than a Counsell/McGehee/Hall combo at 2B (Gamel should be playing everyday at 3B) especially if you're expecting him to take on an important offensive role, and even if he is it would be a very marginal upgrade.
  18. The guy "walking on his hands" was the funniest.
  19. Exactly. "Hello Jerry...Hello Newman" would have been a much better Seinfeld pick.
  20. So we can't even think about something that might offend the other team now?
  21. This could be a very fun NL Central race if the Cards can keep pace and the Cubs don't pull away. Imagine a three horse MIL-CHI-STL race for the central in the final two weeks of September. We got 6 vSTL and 8 vCHI that month, and STL and CHI play each other 3 times. At this point, it seems like everybody hates everybody.
