  1. ootpdevelopments.com is the developers website. pbrl.allsimbaseball2.com is our league website.
  2. Marlins, 88-75 Mets, 87-76 Phillies, 83-79 Brewers, 88-75 Cubs, 86-77 Cardinals, 82-20 Diamondbacks, 86-77 Dodgers, 84-78 Some tight races! Brewers over Mets in 5 Marlins over Diamondbacks in 5 Brewers over Marlins in 6 Brewers over White Sox in 6!!!
  3. I'm in the same league and I'm fairly certain we still have an opening. Problem is we are using dated software. We use OOTP 6.5, though the newest version is OOTP 9. Starting with version 2006 (aka OOTP 7), the developers did a complete redesign that turned many people off - so 6.5 still had a lot of players. Version 8 and now 9 started to win people back though, and 6.5 is beginning to get lost in the past. OOTP in general is the best sim out there, IMO. If you're willing to start with version 6, we'd love to have you in our league. Otherwise, check out ootpdevelopments.com and their forums for info on the latest version and online leagues. I believe it retails for $40. (Version 6 last I remember was $25 or $30, which tells you there still is a demand for it.)
  4. You do understand why we are still a little skeptical though Coach, right? Its obviously great to hear how confident you are in him, and I'm sure it gets every one of us excited to hear it. But with the stats still not backing up everything your saying, we have to watch for a little bias in your thoughts. We know he has the tools though. We're all rooting for him, lets hope its very soon that he's mashing up at the big leagues and using that gun to shut down opposing teams' running games.
  5. Yeah, that sounds awesome. Though they can only kill your family if you hit them with friendly fire, iirc.
  6. So, from 2003 to 2008 they are 26-34, a .433 winning percentage. Overall during those years, they are 425-478, a .470 winning percentage. Eh, its probably nothing.
  7. He looked out to me.
  8. The Sporting News MLB player survey:
  9. I thought the original Fable was a very cool concept, but playing was more limited than I hoped. Fable II sounds a lot broader, but I'm guessing there are still going to be a lot of things to be improved. I love the direction its headed though.
  10. Its a courtesy, Al. "See parents, I respect you and want you included (or feel included) in this decision, and to be a continuing and large part of your daughter's new life with me."
  11. A chair, a table, a deck of cards, and three friends. And a hat.
  12. I agree with volume myth to an extent, but I think its a little harsh. (See Richie Sexson)
  13. http://www.red-hot-mama.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2008/03/patterson_fail.jpg FAIL!
  14. Man, it is tough to find anyone who's really dominating. Evan Anundsen maybe? Good K rate, and K/BB is actually a little better than Jeffress.
  15. Post trade, including Lawrie: 1. Gamel 2. Escobar 3. Jeffress Not a lot of debate there. 4. Lucroy 5. Green 6. Salome 7. Brantley 8. Braddock 9. Lawrie 10. Odorizzi I think those are easy the top 10, with kind of a natural cutoff there. Cain, Errecart, Frederickson, Gindl, ect. start the next group. I think defensive concerns are getting a little louder on Salome, so I'd bump Lucroy and maybe Green over him. I'm nervous about Brantley's defense as well.
  16. Brad Nelson is finally mashing in AAA, he could very well be at least a good stop gap option if Fielder were to be traded. Chris Errecart gets overlooked down at AA, being overshadowed by a lot of his teammates. He won't be an All-Star, but he's got a very good chance of having a big league career at 1B, with an ETA of probably 2010. We could also move Cole Gillespie to 1B if we had to, considering the reports of a weak arm. Michael Brantley has some struggles out in center field and would be the least powerful first baseman in the league, but if he can somehow keep his OBP as high as .390-.400 as he's been doing in the minors, he should be in a lineup. There's nothing stellar sitting in our system, but there is options.
  17. I haven't listened to the show today, but Mohr was just an idiot yesterday. A caller complained about Varitek going to the AS game, and Mohr got all over the caller, instead of the logical thing to do and agree.
  18. This is older already, I think. I remember seeing it a while back, and yes, it is awesome.
  19. We've had the word "sweep" on the cuss filter around here at one point. (At my suggestion, no less.)
  20. JJ's hot streak and the CC trade fresh on mind, I've got one hand on the "Weeks has to go" bandwagon. Now's the time for this team, and JJ is really solidifying his spot as the middle infielder to keep. 2008 - SS Hardy, 2B Roberts the rest of the year 2009 - SS Hardy, 2B Roberts 2010 - SS Esocbar, 2B Hardy, or trade Hardy and have a new 2B in place We can give Escobar a year in AAA to hone his bat.
  21. The way everyone is talking it seems as if it is a far gone conclusion that Sheets is as good as gone after the season and CC is without a doubt as well. If that is the case it appears we will be taking a huge step backwards in future years since it will be ridiculously hard to replace Ben atop our rotation. I see a step back as likely, but its not like we'll be dead. We had 6 early picks this season, and will have 5 in the top 35 next season, and we already still have a strong mid-upper minors. Next year may be a little lost, especially if Fielder and/or Hardy are traded for pitching replacements, but we'll be back and quick. We'd be losing Sheets (most likely) next season anyway, so already its a semi-lost year in terms of you don't know what you're going to get. I look at it as DM seeing the next two-three years as just ~85 win type seasons, and decided to pick this year and go with it instead of taking the very real chance this current team never reaches the playoffs. I'm fine with that.
  22. "I can't comment on (Sabathia) specifically other than to say that starting pitching is at a premium, and we don't have any depth there. We would also like to add another arm to our bullpen and another left-handed bat to our lineup." "See Cleveland, we have other needs we want to fill." Could just be posturing.
  23. So what do you think they will get? Only the Yankee's and Sox could offer them more... maybe the Cubs. Do you think they will be getting over 24 million? Do think it will happen... No one would sign for that amount except those two teams.... What are you thinking baseball mind???? Sorry to sound a little arrogant there. I think Sheets will be taking advantage of his free agency, looking for his last big contract. He'll want $20M+, and he's sure to get offers on the open market for longer than 4 years. If we can get him for $100M over 5 years, with the 5th a team option, I'd be thrilled - I think that's the very low end. If Sheets is simply looking to take the best offer, he could get $130M+ over 6 years if he plays the market right. Key for the Brewers will be to try to get him before Sabathia (most big market team's option A) signs somewhere, like they did getting Suppan before Barry Zito signed. Sabathia could break the market: 7-8 years / $150M-$200M. Its been outrageous the last few free agency seasons, its not going to slow down. Every big market club will be in on Sabathia, I would think.
