  1. Just for clarification, after trading the Competitive Round A pick to Texas, and losing the 3rd round pick for signing Grandal, the Brewers first picks are: 1.28; 2.65; and 4.133?
  2. There is zero chance Thames nets Nolan Jones as a return.
  3. Well this went from an actual interesting read to an obnoxious, childish thread with people making stupid absolute statements and the most pathetic insults that you really don't expect to see outside of a playground. The "little 10?" Is that really your definition of clever? I'm sure the really funny one "Viqueens" just has your stomach hurting. I really can't stand this stupid, fictional "rivalry" between Wisconsin and Marquette. They play each other once a year and don't see each other otherwise. The skewed attacks on the conferences they play in are even dumber. You can cherry pick whatever you want to support your arguments. I'm the one that turned it into an obnoxious thread with stupid absolute statements because of changing "Big 10" to "little 10" not FV calling the Big East a low-major conference, then when I was pointing out facts showing that they are not, he just dismisses my facts? I'm sorry you can get worked up over changing one word. Talk about hypocrisy. Yes, I'm a MU guy, but I am not happy with the state of the program right now. It is incredibly frustrating that Wojo has 0 tournament wins in 5 years, and his butt better be rather hot right now, but I am glad to see MU is ranked in the 10 top in basically every "Way too early" top 25 that all the national media are releasing.

  5. LOL are you serious? They had one bad year this past year, most teams were rebuilding, Nova had previously won 2 of the past 3 national championships. When is the last time a BigTentwelvefourtheen? team won the national championship? Michigan State in 2000, they must be a low major conference because they cannot win. Championship team has very little to do with the strength of the overall conference, of course. RPI ranking below for the 6 majors. Big East 5 out of 6, so yes they are low-major conference by definition. Can they bounce into the mid-major category? Sure, but they're not there right now. 7. Anderson is another team first guy. I think he’s going to take to the bullpen like the proverbial fish to water. Uptick in velocity out of the pen certainly won’t hurt, he’s got good stuff he should do really well. Do we have any non team first guys?
  8. I don't think 40 times matter at all, for example, look at John Ross. I'd be a huge fan of Greedy at 12 if he somehow falls that far. Agreed on Hockenson if they decide to go the TE route, as by all accounts he is a great blocker as well as pass catcher - haven't heard much about Irv Smith Jr's blocking ability. I'd be happy if they took Ferguson at 30 or 44, I don't think he falls to the 3rd round. Hopefully 4 qbs go in the top 11, would make pick #12 that much sweeter.
  9. Be interesting to see if those spots match up with their draft this year. I'm guessing that will be a part of their drafting strategy this year: RT/RG: guessing they'll try to draft one of these positions early this year, and then have Turner and this draft pick on the right side next year TE: if they draft a TE early this year, can be the backup behind Graham, then let Graham go after this season to save some $ ILB: probably going to have to grab a couple in the draft to pair with the new OLBs brought in via FA K: can worry about that next offseason DL: LOTS of DL talent in the draft, will probably add one to add for depth/rotation anyway, hopefully they look to bring Daniel's back anyway?
  10. Opened -5.0, now has moved to -3.5 it looks like
  11. Thon to Detroit for Stanley Johnson
  12. Big win at Xavier with Theo getting bit by the phantom foul bug. The next three are going to say a lot about the trajectory of the season, @Butler where they always struggle, home vs STJ, and home vs Nova. Hoping for a 2-1 stretch, 1-2 isn't the end of the world, 0-3 would really stink.
  13. Seems low. I cant say I know anything about the 19 guys ahead of him, though. It is low if the standard is likelihood of being a successful major leaguer. 19 is a product of the position he plays. More value placed on starting pitching and shortstops especially. There are few ranked ahead of him I'd bet on having more success. I would place a large amount of money that Vlad Jr, Tatis Jr, Eloy, Whitley, Robles, Franco, and Kirilloff all have better careers than Huira, and the others in the top 20 probably have bigger upsides - but more boom or bust. Huira isn't getting as much (taking this with a grain of salt as Top 20 is pretty freakin good anyway) prospect love, because he plays 2b.
  14. I think we can all agree that the starting lineup as currently structured is pretty awesome, and would be great if all four of Bledsoe, Brogdon, Middleton, and Lopez could be brought back, while still having a solid bench which has really helped Bud be able to rest the starters to keep them fresh. It seems like the Bucks have a glut of backup capable wings, maybe this is an area they could deal from to help bring back the Starting 5. Unless they flip Hill by the trade deadline to help acquire a long-term asset, I think it's 100% a done deal that he's cut and paid the $1M buy-out to save $17M for next year's cap. That still leaves Connaughton, DiVincenzo, Snell, and Brown as backup guards/wings. Snell has the biggest cap hit next year at $11M, is Thon an asset that some team would be willing to take on Snell and Thon in a deal for a '18-'19 expiring contract (might have to add a 2nd round pick or two?)? Snell is certainly a help for contention this year, but is the drop from him to Connaughton/DiVincenzo and Thon to more minutes for Wilson/Wood, etc worth having the extra room to bring back the starting 5 for next year? Also to take into account would be the fact that there will be teams buying out players soon, so Snell or anyone else traded to make some cap room, that the Bucks could replace and even upgrade at those bench spots heading into the playoffs. There's some solid depth on this roster that should allow management to hopefully make a deal that helps both this year, as well as keeping the core intact for the future (I know, already has helped with the Hill trade, hoping they make one more deal to really reinforce the objective).
  15. In 2017 Shaw had a .743 OPS in 146 PAs vs LHP, so why would you do a platoon with him in 2019? You have to let him be a full time player. He also has a career .713 OPS vs LHP in 479 PAs.
  16. 1st of all, Kawhi wasn't a 2nd round pick, he was the #15 overall pick in the draft. 2nd, onto regularly scheduled programming, two big back to back wins for the Bucks, wins they need to have in this soft spot of their schedule and into a virtual tie with the Raptors for the top spot in the East. @ OKC is the most difficult game in the next 5 game stretch, before going to Toronto to finish off the season series. Hope they can get that win on the 31st to have the tie-breaker vs Toronto.
  17. Sadly, it was announced after the North Dakota game that Elliot is going to sit out the entire year.
  18. There was a former writer for the New York Daily News that mentioned that trade as an idea for the Mets to consider this offseason. I don’t think there was an official offer from the Mets for Yelich though. Makes sense. Would anyone be willing to do this? I actually think it would be a pretty good value trade for the Brewers, but would hurt for PR purposes after the MVP.
  19. Wasn't there a rumor somewhere that the Mets had offered Thor + Nimmo for Yelich?
  20. I agree with everything you're saying about the age-28 drop off for larger players, but that still gives Vlad Jr a solid 9-10 years, which is pretty crazy to think about. For baseball fans' sake, I hope he's able to keep in shape and that he becomes a decent LF/3B/1B, wherever the Jays decide to stick him.
  21. and this top of the 6th right here is the reason you walk Barnes, to force them to take Kershaw out.
  22. I'd be all for a Schoop for Gray trade.
  23. HERNAN!!!! awesome way to get on the board first! Set up by a great AB by Moose
