  1. Not opposed to the idea...he is up for his last arbitration year in 2008... since he is a Rottino type player why not... Rottino/Graffy/ one of our 30 minor league relievers for Wiggy and a decent PTBNL? so when does he play with Braun and PF?
  2. You lost me at Yovani...
  3. Sure but shouldn't we call up some kids to see how they do during a month long audition BEFORE the trading deadline comes into play? Parra and Yo now...let CHart leadoff and get as many ABs as possible...
  4. I have started to ponder if it is not just as well to call up Yo and/or Parra (as a LOOGY) and totally forgo the trade deadline rush of supplementing the roster. Wouldn't we be just as well to call those guys up and give them a shot before the end of July to see if they can handle it, and maybe giving CHart all the AB's he can stomach, rather than trading away resources. If we were to trade for a CJ Wilson then TEX would rightfully want talent in return and since CJ is in his pre-arby years it might be costly...why not let the kids go now rather than fighting everyone else at the deadline. What type of bench help could we really score for Mench, Capellan, and a PTBNL? Anything relevent? If we could possibly acquire Crawford or Ichiro then sure...lets do it, but I say let that mess work itself out over the offseason... just my two cents
  5. How about Sammy Sosa...sure he is a roidy kinda guy...but at 500K he would compliment Jenks better than Mench and the Cubbies would hate to have him doing well in Wrigley... I think he could be had on the cheap given the ball being played by Texas now... rouse
  6. Isn't Chris Hammond that soft tossing, flat faced lefty that had some innings in CIN and ATL... maybe you mean Steve Hammond, the one with potential and the one that I don't want to send to HOU...same goes for Dillard and Cappy, Latin... no dice, rouse
  7. Can anyone reply to the thread??? Who asked if pitching was a problem? Who asked if we should trade Yo based on potential? Who asked anything about Homer Bailey or Jack Z?? I have gotten maybe three decent answers from people that just write what they want to rant/vent about...I thought I could gain something from this forum...maybe not. Pick another team, gauge value from outside our team, and estimate what OTHER GMs are putting on Melvin's pager... and before you write a reply to my tone...don't even bother, it would only speak to your inability to once again...reply to the thread. Thank you very much, most sincerely, Rousieboy http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  8. HEY HEY...re-read the subject line...it's not what could we get/should we trade Yo... but rather what are other teams offering--as in you were the OTHER GM from any other team...try again...
  9. Not that GM DM would ever pull the trigger, but what are teams calling in as trade fodder? What could he fetch by himself on the open market? Pick a team that makes sense (almost any of them do as it is young, premium pitching we are talking about) and find a match for the brewers lineup/needs/payroll... I am very curious to see what people think Yo Gallardo could actually bring in...any thoughts? EDIT: removed excessive punctuation from subject line. Keep Brewerfan beautiful. - bta
  10. adambr2 made a comment...I replied to it... is that ok, dad? I'm not the one giving up runs so take it elsewhere...
  11. Dessens will be gone soon enough...and Spurling will fill his role...GM DM has to justify the trade of BClark and see what AAA reliever cream rises to the top by the All Star break before letting Elmer go... if Yo comes up then who goes to the pen? Bush? Yo?
  12. This does seem to be a AAAA guy who might platoon and surprise next year if/when Jenkins is not retained... On the open market I don't get the vibe he has any real value...with the 40 man being an issue over the next few years look for him to be packaged with some extra AAA reliever types down the road...maybe at that...rouse
  13. Any subscriber care to paraphrase the Brewer selection or top 10 entirely?? It would be appreciated...rouse
  14. THIS TEAM KILLS LEFTY HITTERS ALREADY...what are you guys doing?? really?....really? Don't trade away goods...don't take up roster spots...Rheal...killing me...
  15. Anyone know why, Dee Turnbow is letting fly... why not pitch Elmer????????
  16. Before this 10 game homestand if you had told me 7 outta 10 I would have been stoked... still very doable... it's a long season...living and dying with babies and this coach is problematic...
  17. im not sad with 18-10 but we cannot lose games like this anymore...we are solid, not amazingly gifted...Yost zigged too many times tonight when he should have zagged....bottom line... rouse
  18. Angels, Dodgers, Braves...but they have called up their guys already...soon we will join the fold... Rousieboy
  19. Earlier I floated BClark for Breslow and the idea was to get another arm (ultimately it was Elmer) and a LOOGY to expand upon Shouse's ability...kinda the point here... GMs have shown that they are not going to tie teams to one player and if Mahay fails then there is another variable to the trade. Teagarden was highly sought after out of UT and yes, his elbow hurts...but a clean bill of health would mean giving up more than 3 relievers... anywho...you see the direction of the deal...it is this type that will get done...book it. rousieboy
  20. We have too many minor league relievers/soon to be relievers (Dillard, MJones, etc...) so.... Balfour, Stetter, Capellan for.... a LOOGY to join Shouse and young talent at a need position that will justify the trade in the years to come... Mahay and Teagarden of TX With this Spurling rejoins Aquino, SBray, Salas, Thatcher, Sarfate, and the host of others and Shouse gets to close 4-0 games vs. the Cubs instead of D-Bow...
  21. Competition and depth are key...Menckins is awesome now...CHart is really the least appreciated player in MLB...for real... I Heart Hart Rousieboy
  22. Competition and depth are key...Menckins is awesome now...CHart is really the least appreciated player in MLB...for real... I Heart Hart Rousieboy
  23. AND a bonus trade thread at the bottom... Bullpen burnout and the lack of any starting pitching worth a damn...though i do like Shawn Hill's makeup and Patterson's stuff...too bad JPatterson makes Mark Prior look like Steve Carlton health-wise... if the key to adding wins to the standings is reducing team ERA and cutting out walks then the opposite is where this team will lose their shirts... These pitchers will not be here in July...they will suffer too too much and then the SECOND string Nationals will lose 112 games... I say trade Capellan, Wise, ZachJack, and Gamel for CCordero. Soon Bowden can't turn down quantity for quality... Rousieboy
  24. rbewers....that is fun to say...i like it.
  25. hitter- The Hurricane pitcher - Hammond...and it won't even be close... rouse
