  1. Great points...you can always go to AZ and work on the details of the craft in the downtime/offseason...and let's see how he handles A ball before we put him in the Hall of Fame...
  2. Not quite the same...Brett has a ring.
  3. Jack Z and the potential is why I come back to this team...the reality has been a let down since game 7...pitchers and catchers report is a reason to follow the '09 team...I am done with this lot.
  4. As much as his stats mirror Utley before the Phillie 2B broke out and became a star...my answer is really, "God I hope not..." I hope JJ moves to 2b and Escobar to leadoff...
  5. Sheets will be in Houston and CC will be in California...somewhere. Sept 18th 2008 Rousieboy
  6. The only way Suppan goes to New York is if Prince goes too...Don't get me wrong...I am not saying it will happen or that it should...but the Yanks will need starting pitching and like his resume. Same for what Prince could bring to the Yanks in their new stadium... even if people love this...I have no idea what New York could possibly offer in return...but it is one (the only?) way to get rid of Suppan if you really want to do it... rousieboy
  7. If the Japanese ownership is not going to part with Kenji then they really are not going to part with Ichiro...
  8. You would be lucky to get Cecil for Hart and Suppan...
  9. Not wanting to mess with success to much here...but doesn't this sound like a guy that could be starting?
  10. http://i328.photobucket.com/albums/l332/rousieboy/whatouchlookslike.jpg
  11. Antonio Gates was an undrafted free agent, Brewer was a rather high draft pick with some fair amount of money and expectations going his way.
  12. If you want to acquire a 2B and not trade Weeks because his value is at an all time low...the answer is simple...send Nashville so he can get it together whether it is this year or next year at spring training.
  13. Interesting call on Tallet...I remember him from his LSU days when I lived in Baton Rouge...I always liked what he brought to that team...
  14. add Mark Loretta...i always liked him as a brewer...
  15. Sherrill has a high ERA and too many walks for a late guy in my opinion...JWalker would have been useful, but his elbow is on the DL now. If you are going to trade for a lefty that walks some guys then go get Byrdak in HOU and while you are there, pick up Loretta and Erstad...Lo might not be better at 2b, but I always liked him... In-house options might be better and one guy certainly walks less (DeFelice)... Julian Tavarez in MIL- ERA8.59 WHIP2.45 BAA.371 Craig Breslow in MIN- ERA1.46 WHIP0.89 BAA.146 Joe Nelson in FLA- ERA1.71 WHIP1.24 BAA.207
  16. I have a feeling that this is a touch premature...you know we had more going for us last year...and nothing...
  17. When does RWeeks realize he has a "tired arm" and get sent to sunny Brevard County for some R and R and batting cage ABs?
  18. I think the Brewers are giving Weeks so many chances because of how Brandon Phillips ended up working out: Yes and you can add Chase Utley's name to that list too...he didn't kill initially...it took some time...but the BREWERS time is now...and if RWeeks isn't ready then someone else needs to be because CHI and STL are going to be ready... in it to win it....
  19. Weeks has an option left...it's just about time to use it...let the platoons take over (the splits on Hall/Dillon/Branyan/and even CC is a little better...) Hope for the best for Weeks on the farm, it worked last year, don't give him away, but don't let his .198 BA vs Righties kill us another day.
  20. You know that whole Hardy batting 7th, JK batting 9th, Braun batting 4th, PF batting 3rd wasn't so hot afterall... Id love to see weeks gone and OHudson here...but i dont see how...
  21. I would not be surprised to hear after the season that Yost, GM DM, and Mark A all knew about Rickie's hurt _______ and decided not to say anything as to let the opposition take advantage of it...everyone is being sooo patient with him and so critical and diligent in other areas. They will keep RWeeks there 100% and i hate it... why not CCounsell and BHall at 2b and Dillon and Branyan at 3B? JKend, CC, or Dillon leads off and away we go...
  22. Neither one will be re-signed. Get used to that thought... Weeks and players to SF for Cain and Escobar comes up, JJ scoots over and we have a 2b that hits more than .207... Cain Parra Yo Suppan Bush worst case scenario is not so bad...
  23. yeah he is tipping his pitches...i saw it too on the video...every time he reaches in his glove and pulls out the ball and throws it to the catcher, the hitter knows he is getting some fresh easy to slap around the park.
  24. According to Rosenthal at Foxsports...Laporta and Escobar to CLE for CC... -----But if the Brewers indeed were willing to give up both LaPorta and Escobar, the Sabathia sweepstakes might be over before they started. "I can not imagine anyone would top that," the first source said. The second added, "That deal should get it done."
