  1. Great thread topic... Hammond MJones (if he ends up in the pen) Gillespie (but truthfully all OFs to see who deserves their designation) Salome (can he hit enough to advance) and... Dillard (he is going to get a call up)
  2. Ok seriously... Who is plagiarizing whom? These are the same articles in essence with two different writers. I know it is a Spring Training beat and they all get the same sound bite, but guys...one of you is not even trying. Pretty obvious too...shame... Rouse
  3. Mike Jones should be prepped to be a closer...it is just about the only way he and his arm can make the show...EMG
  4. Interesting proposal...
  5. Looks real familiar...since i chimed in with Mench and Hendrickson for Crain few days ago....add more trash that no one wants (Turnbow and BClark) and you get a young, former surething in Kubel?? A stretch...MN still likes him and his salary slot/upside a lot...a WHOLE lot... btw...Aquino is the closer in training when Coco Go-goes... rousieboy
  6. I would love to get Crain, but I don't think the Twins would ever do that without Melvin throwing in Sarfate or Gwyyn instead of Hendrickson. (I don't think anyone wants him.) No one but no one wanted Krynzel, but he found his way to AZ...this is a way to throw a player in and gain a spot on the 40 man without really throwing a man in at all. Essentially the deal is Mench for Crain...but it looks better for GM Ryan if he gets a hometown arm that is suited for the AL anyway and needs a change of scenery like I need cilantro.
  7. Mench and Hendrickson (he is a MN boy) for Crain (Canadian I think...) would be good enough for me...
  8. I've been a fan of CTracy for years and while you are not buying at a low, low price he does do things really well. He also can play 1st and OF. Cot's has his new contract online already and it is manageable...but I have not looked at his vs. LHP splits in a while... He is an asset but at what cost? rouse
  9. You lost me at hello....I am not one to name-call but your thread title speaks volumes. Rouse
  10. That is an impressive post...I think that SBray will beat out Sarfate in the long run and eventually Dillard will find a home in the pen but this puts everything in perspective and clear....thank you.
  11. Seems like someone was talking TGwynn and Eveland to COL for kids about a month ago...hmm oh wait that was me... Eveland will be the critical mass to get the job done.... BClark and Eveland + ptbnl for Jennings and Ianetta... in a second...a second! rouse
  12. Nick is untouchable as long as Angelos is running things...next topic.
  13. i apologize...behind the plate next year meaning 2008...sorry for the ambiguity.
  14. "unless we get Offered a 'Cant'turn down Trade'. Big Picture... " that is why Ianetta has to be the key to it...young starting catching under control for 6 years in 2006 is not small potatoes...who else is going to be behind the plate next year? MRivera and JD? I think that most of you are happy with delusional trades like Hendrickson and Krynzel for ARod... Mench and Hendrickson for Tracey and CStewart BClark for Breslow Krynzel for Pinto get used to those types of trades...if any. I am done here.
  15. so overpay for it...add a significant prospect as a PTBNL and have them throw in Baker... Do you want a FA catcher next year killing the payroll? Do you think that DMiller will play 145 games next year? Can JJ play a full year? So many posts here have us coddling our young pitchers...I say trade some....
  16. Ianetta is the key...Moeller was worse than Barmes, Barmes is young and doesn't/shouldn't play regularly. This would take the heat off of DMiller or MRivera playing extensively next year and also give Hall a home in CF.
  17. BClark to BOS for former Brewhand...Craig Breslow. Competition will stir results. rousieboy
  18. As a hobby to pass time from my day job i like doing this stuff and this is the forum for it so here it goes: COL has Troyboy coming up at SS, too many OFs, and a young catcher or two that they might be willing to part with. MIL has too many prospects to keep all of them on the 40 man roster, a speedy young CF (that COL covets) and young pitching. MIL sends BNelson/Gwynn/Eveland to COL for Barmes/Ianetta The reality is that I think MIL could send a PTBNL for Baker also as he has no place in COL but could be a decent OF/3B and steal at bats from Mench/Koskie. Gwynn is one of many CFs here (move Billy Hall to CF for good and 600abs) and for all the pitching questions it looks like Hendrickson is out after Bray beats him out in the pen, Carlos Villa has the #5 spot and DDavis will return til midseason next year when Yo takes his spot. So what happens to Dillard, Hammond, Eveland, and Parra? They have options but the limitations of the 40 man roster will come up. Trade some... Barmes becomes the SS that plays when Hardy goes out and all around INF when he is healthy and Ianetta take the catching reins for the next 7 years... Everyone has holes to fill...start here...rousieboy
  19. yeah his bat is too big...we need all the SLG we can get...
  20. Cappy gets arby but should sign longterm... We will trade for catching next year...young and good...it will cost us Billy Hall...look for Graf and Cirillo to be re-signed and Hall shipped off (to COL for Ianetta?).... Davis will get arby and Yo will move him out the following year. Same for Gwynn moving BClark out of town next year and therein moving Weeks to the 3rd spot in the order. (Btw, thanks to all those ripping off my idea of Clark to CWS for Tracey...but if it wasn't done at the deadline, forget it.) The 7th spot in the pen and 5th spot in the rotation will be a minimum wage guy...and Jenkins should be traded for a used bag of Tostitos and a AAA LHP... Life with a 60 million dollar roster
  21. Can you listen to games on www.live365.com???
  22. Having Wise and that change up in front of Turnbow and that heater is unfair...and I like things that are unfair. If Capellan is the 7th inning guy in front of Wise then that could add to the disparity...I love it. rousieboy
