  1. today was the final day for players to draw a paycheck. nobody gets paid salary during the postseason. should a player currently on a minor league contract be added to the playoff roster (such as keon broxton), he, along with his teammates, would be eligible for a share in the postseason pool after each round. that pool is currently at $50 million, with the possibility of an increase if fans are allowed to attend.
  2. if healthy, pina could be activated from the injured list and be on the wild card roster.
  3. if healthy, gamel could be activated from the injured list and be on the wild card roster.
  4. i think we need to see how injuries play out, and rosters are at 28 players.
  5. orlando arcia and jedd gyorko are already in the starting lineup, so the club would have to make sure that a defensive replacement is available for either of them.
  6. eric lauer was part of the taxi squad that traveled to cincinnati. he has since been activated to replace freddy peralta, who was placed on the paternity list.
  7. any reports of sightings on taxi squad players yesterday? i'm beginning to think that david stearns has asked the media to not report on sightings . . . i have no idea why the brewers aren't officially announcing who's on each taxi squad. knowing is what you want.
  8. it's in the constitution.
  9. ben gamel is out for the rest of the regular season with a strained left quad. to take his spot on the roster, josh lindblom was activated from the bereavement list.
  10. hopefully not, but tomorrow may be the last game ever at miller park.
  11. the club learned of the positive tests on monday.
  12. everyone at the ats in grand chute is in quarantine and is being tested daily. some may be cleared to join the mysterious taxi squad when the brewers open their road trip on monday.
  13. two players and a staffer have tested positive at the alternate training site in grand chute.
  14. there's a thread devoted to urias' injury.
  15. in case you've forgotten, jake faria was dfa'd to make room for the signing of jedd gyorko. i think many would consider that an acceptable move.
  16. josh lindblom is expected to be activated to start tomorrow. provided justin topa remains on the roster for today's game, he can be optioned to grand chute and can spend no more than a maximum of 19 days on optional assignment for the rest of the season, which ends 27 september. bottom line, topa will not burn his first option if he lasts one more day on the major league roster or injured list--either today or as the 29th man of next week's doubleheader.
  17. rodriguez or supak were not returned to the club player pool, and they cannot rejoin the cpp.
  18. jake faria has been released. the cpp is at 58.
  19. jake faria has been released.
  20. the brewers are off today, in case that gives you more time to read the 2020 mlb operations manual . . .
  21. last month, jhoulys chacin was placed on outright waivers by the braves. no team claimed him, and he was outrighted to the alternate training site, per the team's transactions page. but that doesn't mean that he necessarily rejoined the club player pool. perhaps chacin is there more like coaches are to fill in as needed for intrasquad games at the alternate training site?
  22. consider that had rodriguez or supak been claimed, neither would have been eligible for postseason play. seeing how many teams are still in the postseason mix, this may have factored into a team's decision to not put in a claim for either.
  23. source? if he was sent to the alternate training site in grand chute, then he would be added back to the club player pool.
  24. He didn’t get claimed ronny rodriguez also cleared waivers and was outrighted to the minor leagues.
