  1. What a train wreck of an inning. De La Cruz is now going to be the new Dillard (If he stays on the team that is)
  2. I really thought there was no way we would lose this pitching matchup. The team is going to have a game like this every once in a while I suppose. Atleast the Cards are still choking
  3. I would think someone like Marcum would age well. He doesn't rely on a balzing fastball or anything and I doubt age will effect his ability control all that much. I would be fine extending both Grienke and Marcum 5/80 of Grienke 4/44 for Marcum Even though we will see gains from Fielder leaving; there are a lot of positions to fill next year. You probably need 3 new relievers, a SS, a 1B, and a 3B. You can't rely on rookies everywhere. I don't now how excited I would be to bring back Hawkins or Saito next year; Doug will probably spend a good chunk of change on the bullpen next year.
  4. 2 outs and 0-2 on the 3rd guy and Krod starting nibbling. They haven't a game like this in a long time; I guess we were due
  5. That isn't any different than 99% of the other announcers in the biz. Almost all announcers dumb down to their viewers because most viewers aren't as knowledgeable as brewerfan.net people. Most fans do use errors as a good way to measure defense; same for wins for starting pitchers. Its just the way it is; it transcends all teams and all sports.
  6. I think it is about time just to cut the guy. MLB Network indicates it is a 50 game suspension; not 25
  7. Personally I think it is a crapshoot and will be very close with Braun, Fielder, Berkman, Reyes, Kemp, and Upton all in contention. If a requirement is to be on a contending team then the two Brewer guys have the advantage over everyone with the exception of Upton. The obvious downside being that they are competing against one another and might split the vote. My money is on Kemp. I would probably pick Fielder over Braun if it came down to our two guys.
  8. Thats what I get for trusting the Cubs. They will not walk off the bottom of the 10th.
  9. And Theriot just let the one of the fastest guys in the league on 1st with an error. Got a good feeling Cubs will pull this one off
  10. Cubs just tied it up in the 8th. It would be nice to knock another 2 off that magic number today.
  11. I get that signing Fielder of Pujols to 8 years would suck in the long run; but if both stay in the division both are likely to stay very productive for 4 years and make hard on the Brewers. I would just assume they both just go to the AL (Assuming we can't sign Fielder for 5 years) Cubs fans are awfully excited thats for sure. Hendry did field very good teams on a couple of occassions; but he has really left the franchise in poor shape.
  12. Does this make it more or less likely that they throw a mega deal at Fielder or Pujols? I guess we probably won't know until the new full time GM is found. I guess I have a hard time believing that the Cubs are going to throw 6-8 year money at Fielder or Pujols just as they are getting out from under a couple other awful contracts. Should be interesting
  13. After 2012 virtually every bad contract is off the books other than Soriano right? I might be mistaken. If that is correct they have the chance to become very good very quickly. Or they could do what they have been doing and just mess things up over and over again.
  14. I really hate Hunt articles. He cares more about using big words and stupid references than the topic he is actually writing about. If I was the Philles I don't know that I would be too worried about us right now. Yeah we have a pretty good pitching staff but they would still have the best 3 pitchers between both teams.
  15. Bad Kam showed up today, looks like everything is up in the zone I'd like to say we can come back; but very very doubtful against Kershaw
  16. Probably have to deal with Kershaw for two more innings unless we really get the pitch county up in the 7th. Pitching staff is great again today but Kershaw is amazing.
  17. It seems like a really bad idea to squeeze right there. Even if Hairston gets out you still have Braun on deck. Maybe we don't have the luck today; the way things are going that probably would have found a hole somewhere
  18. Well that sucked. Might not get another chance like that again
  19. I don't mind that RR gave Lopez a chance; atleast he figured out pretty quickly too move onto someone else
  20. I was hoping Yuni would get a day off today; but I guess him being in there is understandable. Would rather have Yuni & Wilson than Wilson & Lopez. I wan't to say it would be a minor miracle if we win this game; but I am somewhat confident they can win despite a horrible pitching match up. 19 of 21 gives you a lot of confidence.
  21. The way his swing looks all of a sudden; a day off or 45 is more like it. I was loving on Yuni quite a bit when he was going good; but it certainly seems like he has lost it again. It will be interesting to see what RR does because Hairston is more or less the everyday 2nd basemen now. I am guessing we'll see Wilson out there tomorrow with Kershaw pitching.
  22. Yay Jerry But another stupid baserunning mistake. Why would McGehee decide to go to 3rd on that?
  23. Yuni is going to blow it right here; just feel it. Probably a lazy pop up somewhere
