  1. Why in the heck would they want Jeter at 1st? Talk about a below average offensive 1st basemen. I know Jeter is an icon and all but you can't keep him in pinstripes at a prime offensive position simply because he is Derek Jeter. That just sounds stupid to me.
  2. Seriously what is with all the touch fouls Bogut has been getting the first 2 games. In 2 of his first 3 fouls there really wasn't anything there. Overall a much better game, although OKC is not going to be very good at all. Ridnour has been a little dissappointing but he is dealing with back spasms. I am really suprised that Sessions and Alexander are getting no playing time at all. I was under the impression that Alexander would at least be in the rotation but obviously Skiles thinks he has some work to do yet.
  3. The game yesterday just had no flow because of the excessive foul calls. I know not all NBA games are like this but yesterday was a little ridiculous. Redd was still taking to many contested shots when he very easily could have gotten someone else a much easier shot. The team still seems to be a one on one team, there wasn't a whole lot of good passing going on. I can handle the lack of defense so long as the offense is exciting. But the offense was far from exciting. Plus having to watch Joakim Noah prance around makes me want to punch myself in the face. Man I despise that kid. Oh and Johnny Mac drives me crazy.
  4. How long can it possibly take for Dane County to cash a check? My wife got a speeding ticket in July and we sent in the check the next week and Dane County still hasn't cashed it. I am starting to think that they lost it. Her court date was in early October (She didn't attend because it wasn't required) We sent the check to the address they told us to send it to. Anybody have any experience with Dane County/speeding tickets?
  5. I suppose we could always trade Prince and Braun for Grienke like one KC Fan mentioned on mlbtraderumors. Sounds like a good deal to me!!
  6. There was some crazy rumor last week that CC bought the house that he and his family were previously renting in the Milwaukee area. I know it is probably crap, but I thought I would mention anyways. There would be no reason to buy a house unless the ink is dry on the contract so I doubt this is true. I would be fine with a 4 year $100M + a 5th year $28M option if he starts 30+ games and pitches 190+ innings in 3 of the 4 years and perhaps a couple other benchmarks predicated on his success.
  7. All I know is the lady that sang for Game 4 in Philly on Sunday was pretty bad. She really butchered it. She may have used the National Anthem words but the way she sang it was crap, it sounded nothing like it is suppose to.
  8. Seriousy who gives Dan Gadzuric a 6 year $36M dollar deal? He is a back up center for god sakes. That has got to be one of the worst contracts in Bucks history. It literally made no sense at the time. I guess the same could be said about giving Redd a max contract. One dimensional players should not be getting max contracts. I think Kohl was behind that however.
  9. I think Bogut could be considered an average defender. He struggles against the top centers in the league but who doesn't? His blocks went up a lot last year and he has always been good at taking a charge. Given his athletic ability I would rate him a decent defender. I know Redd and CV are just bad defensively but I guess I haven't been paying attention enough to know that Ridnour also sucks. Alexander has some potential to be a good defender because he is so athletic. I don't think their is any doubt that the Bucks will have to outscore people to win. A 1-7 preseason doesn't instill a lot of confidence in me that they can be competitive this year. They are taking some good steps, Hammond got rid of some awful contracts and bring in RJ was a big positive and I think Alexander will pan out. Alexander might be more productive than Bogut was in his 1st year and I won't be suprised if he takes CV's spot shortly. He needs to add some bulk big time to play the hybrid #3/4 spot though.
  10. So who would Macha bring along as a hitting coach? 3rd base coach? EDIT: I see FTJ mentioned Lachemann as a potential 3rd base coach
  11. Was it previously known that we offered him a 5 year $60M contract? That seems to be a pretty fair deal IMO. There is probably a very limited number of AL teams who are in need of a DH so I can't imagine there will be much of a bidding war if any.
  12. Firejoemorgan.com should be required reading for anyone who wants to write about baseball.
  13. Villanueva is extremely over rated. I am a little nervous because they have looked pretty bad in the preseason. But they haven't used their entire starting lineup yet. I was wondering if Alexander might make his way into the starting lineup shortly. I am hoping for 38-40 wins but I don't think any amount of Skiles teaching is going to get Redd and Villaneuva to play defense. When you have two horrible defensive players it makes the entire team bad defensively. I am looking forward to having an actual PG this year. Our bench does look pitiful, Tyron Lue is just awful, I really hope Sessions plays over him
  14. I vote that we ban anyone that posts GARBAGE like what bball123h just did. Not funny...or nice!!! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:s6fLFkfiboFQ0M:http://sarge.wheresthebeef.co.uk/Misc/BANHAMMER.png Instead of a ban, everyone needs to gang up on him in July when it is beautiful here and unbearably hot there, It all evens out. We also don't have to deal with the Hurricanes
  15. There should be some interesting driving conditions this year. Since they used so much salt last year there is a shortage this year and the authorities up by me are already saying they are going to be very strict with their salt use, so expect to drive on some snow more often
  16. Count me as a proponent of the Grassy Knoll theory. I just don't buy that it was a singe gunmen. Unlike many other conspiracy's, there seems to be pretty good evidence supporting the Grassy Knoll. Seinfeld and Keith Hernandez agree. The chupacabra also intrigues me but at this point I am not a believer
  17. In the lead by 13 votes now
  18. I didn't see the show but my vote would go to Reed Johnson
  19. What no one has a panic room? If you don't have access, I would suggest using the Hart bat, but only after watching a marathon of Walker Texas Ranger. You gotta get in the zone.
  20. To The Cardinals: Khalil Green Will Venable To the Brewers: Jake Peavy Heath Bell To the Padres: Corey Hart Angel Salome Tony Gwynn Jr Todd Wellemeyer Joe Mather The Brewers would obviously have to sign/trade for a right fielder. I think the Cards are probably giving up to much, but the Padres and Brewers would be getting good deals IMO
  21. Well today perhaps eased a little fear, even if it is only temporary. It doesn't quite make up for last week but I will take 900+ points and 10% plus.
  22. Most pundits have predicted gasoline bottoming out at around $2.50 or so with oil bottoming out around $60-70 a barrell. However none of these pundits predicted the current decline, they were actually predicting $150-$200. So take their opinion with a grain of salt. Their was one dude on CNN who said oil could get down to $35-$40 a barrel but I don't see that happening. The only thing that is certain in the oil market is that no one really has a clue as to what is going to happen next.
  23. The Bill on Capital Hill is by far the best Schoolhouse Rock ever I love the Magic School Bus. Mrs. Frizzle was awesome.
  24. Badger Hockey Game are fun, atleast if the band is allowed to play. Some of their chants at the opposing players are pretty hilarious. Hockey is so much better in person than on TV it isn't even funny.
