    I feel like the chicken that gets it butted kicked on Family Guy. Ormaybe we know what it feels like to be a Cubs fan. So close and yet so far. Its not so much that we are in the midst of blowing our first playoff appearance in a billion years, it is that this year was our best shot and we might have to wait another 10 just to get this close again. Come Brewers just come back and win so I feel better

    Dumervil is ripped and fast. Prince just ripped has pants. If Dumervil is 260 (Don't they usually go on the heavy side for football) than Prince is no smaller than 280. Plus Dumvervil's weight is actually good weight, whereas Prince appears to have a ton of dead weight. I dont care if Prince weighed 400 pounds so long as it helped him in his baseball ability

    I think Hall needs a change of scenery. He might put together some of the worst AB's I have ever seen. With all the hitting talent we have it is just amazing how much most have underacheived this year. At some point it comes down to the coaching staff. We have a bunch of inpatient hitters incapable of having an OBP higher than .330. Either Melvin compiled a crappy offense or Skaalen and Yost aren't doing there jobs. I would be inclined to say that it is a combination of both. The way Hall is playing and the way the Brewers in general fare against righties is seems more and more likely that the Brewers are going to give Gamel every opportunity to win the 3rd base job next year.

    The Brewers are the Minnesota Vikings of the MLB. Both hyped with a ton of promise only to screw the fans over year after year by choking when it counts. Is their anyway we stll have the lead after the PHilly series? I doubt it.

    This game has all the making of a late inning melt down because we go like 1-16 with RISP. I can see Gagne getting booed already. Prove me wrong you stupid suckers.

    Well I certainly didn't see that coming. I would say no to swinging at the first pitch after the guy goes to a full count on like 4 consecutive batters

    Why can't we actually develop good relievers? That is the question we should be asking. Why can't we bring up closers or at least shut down relievers in our system? Or is part of Melvin's plan to draft only SP and position players in draft and worry about relievers through FA and trades?

    Wouldn't a relatively easy calculation of bat speed be an easy way of determining if his bat has slowed from his weight or other factors. Of course you probably need some equipment I don't have to accurately measure bat speed but one would think it could be easily done.

    I used to be in love with the Big Mac but it seems to have lost its luster. I would rather go with the double cheeseburger, double quarter pounder, or a Whopper. I don't know why anyone would want to eat the same thing day after day after day. Don't you want a little variety in your life. Talk about a dull routine. To frame your life around a fast food burger is a little delusion.

    I am not even sure he will get $7 million. This situation screams an arbitration hearing to me. Prince and Boras are going to want the wold because of his 2007 year and the Brewers are going to low ball him because of his crappy 2008. I could easily see the Brewers offering like $5.5M and Prince asking for like $9M. I don't see any way that this doesn't go to a arbitration hearing this offseason. The likelihood of a Prince trade this offseason is growing by the strikeout, and our return package is shrinking. Earlier this year we wondered if Fielder could get Cain or Lincecum, now their is absolutely no chance of that happening. Maybe Jonathon Sanchez. You could make a case that he is the worst 1st baseman in the division at this point when considering offense and defense. I am not so sure I wouldn't take LaRoche, Votto, Lee, Pujols, or Berkman over him at this point. I'd take the last 3 in a heart beat obviously.

    I don't think a collapse this year would result in a Melvin firing. Yost no doubt about it, but I think Melvin is here for the long haul. I also think he will go out and do something stupid like sign Krod for 5 years or something like that since his "remodeled" bullpen has failed so miserably. I will always be a fan but if they were to collapse this year I don't think I can get to excited for next year especially if CC & Ben are gone. This is their shot and they are completely blowing chunks right now and they know it. I was at the NFC Championship last year. The Brewers not making the playoffs would be even worse than that, simply because the expectations are so much higher this year for the Brewers than they were for the Packers last year. Obviously we still have a 3 game lead, but I think the effects next year could be catastrophic: sharply lower attendance leading to less money to sign the young talent. If they do blow this thing I would not be suprised if their is a huge overhaul of the roster next year. The only starters who are safe next year IMO are Braun, Hart, Kendall, Gallardo, Parra, Suppan, and Torres. I could see a hypothetical situation where every other player on our 25 man roster is playing somewhere else next year. Not saying they will but their is a possibility

    At this point I will be shocked if we still lead the wild card after the Philly series. Our bullpen and offense is completely choking. I thought the fact that they went through this last year was suppose to help them this year? I guess not. Maybe we just have a bunch of guys who can't handle the pressure.

    Well Packer game starts at 6, Brewer game at 7. So I'll watch the first quarter without interruption. Then I will switch over to the Brewer game, get pissed off that Volquez is shutting us down and turn the Packer game back on. Once the Packers are winning 31-0 at halftime I will turn the Brewer game back only to realize we scored 7 runs in the 5th inning to take a 9-1 lead

    Well we already paid most of Gagne's salary already so their isn't much to lose by just releasing him now. It would take the decision away from Ned. Gagne can be so good but he can blow up so fast we can't really pitch him if it is a close game. I am sure it wasn't exactly a confidence booster when he got booed coming out of the bullpen but I am not so sure I wouldn't have booed if I was their as well. My boo would have been 50/50 at Ned and Gagne. The fact that Ned pitches Gagne despite Mota's impressive performance of late is kind of mind boggling. If we do make the playoffs who the heck do we take as relievers? Torres, Shouse, and Mota are probably locks. I would think Stetter would be a safe bet, and if Gallardo is healthy I would put him in the bullpen as well. With all the offdays in the playoffs and the fact that at least one of Dave Bush and Manny Parra would be in the bullpen that would be enough to me. Riske and Gagne should not be on the playoff roster under any circumstances. Can you imagine Yost putting Gagne in with a 2 run lead in Game 7 and then he blows it? I would freaking go berserk.

    Every hitter we have right now sucks. So yes I am panicking big time. Luckily it appears no other team wants to win the Wild Card either. What are the odds we actually beat Volquez tonight? Not very good IMO. We have scored a whoppinh 16 runs in our last 7 games. I just hope this is our last dry spell of the year and within the next couple of days we turn it around for our stretch run.

    Maybe we should have a "Why not let Nelson give it a go?" The way I Fielder is playing now I am fully convinced we could be getting more out of Nelson. But obvioulsy if Fielder figures it out he ought to be out there. My frustration is building incredibly fast with Fielder.

    I was at the game last night so I guess maybe you can take my word for it. Brewers officials were hosting a group from Coors and they got to talking about Fielder. I don't know who the Brewer official was he didn't look fimilar nor did I recognize his name, but he did specifically mention that he wouldn't be suprised and he has heard some rumblings that Fielder is gone next year because of his weight issues. He specifically said Fielder isn't keeping himself in shape and is only in this to get a pay day. So the fact that he isn't staying in shape before getting a pay day might tell you something about the guy if and when he does get paid. I don't know what department the guy was in, I suppose he could have been just talking out of his $(D and really has no inside knowledge at all but I thought I would pass it along

    Well I don't think I would have a problem having Gamel in their the first 6-7 innings and then bringing Hall/Counsell in as a defensive replacement if the game is close. We did it with Weeks before and we probably still should be

    It doesn't seem right that a team 21 games over .500 is only 4.5 games ahead of a team that is 12 games over .500. Stupid math. Nothing like going to a game for the first time in 2 months and having it over before it even started. I am going again tonight, Shawn Estes better suck; and Saturday, Sheets better not suck.
