  1. I bring this up because I am almost positive that Trenni had a huge gathering of family and friends at Miller Park recently and that they were dressed up in pirate garb. I think I remember them talking about during the broadcast or pregame. Apparently the Pirates weren't on their best behavior. This was on the WTMJ website: Jeff, I know in the past you have talked about bad behavior on the part of fans. I want to tell you about an incident that happened at the Brewer game Saturday, August 9. My wife and I have a ticket package so we don't usually sit in the bleachers, but we went with a group of about 50 friends from Kenosha. We were in section 234 and we had a block of tickets for row 13 and up. Just as the game is starting, a group of adults dressed in pirate garb and badges with "Kap & Keg" comes in. They were in the same section as us. They had rows 1-12 it looked like. The game is on and all these people who are already very drunk and loud are now standing in front of us shuffling around looking for their friends to sit next to. This went on through the entire first inning. They finally all got sat down by the second inning, except for one guy. He was probably the leader of the group. He was the best dressed pirate, but was always standing up, pointing at his friends and yelling in very vulgar language. About the fifth inning or so, several of them in the row right in front of us started fighting with each other. One lady in our group received a hard hit on her knee from someone in this group. She wasn't the target, but these drunks were just all over. A person from our group went up to find security because no one came to break it up. The fighting went on for maybe 10 minutes. Security did take 2 or 3 away. The lady in our group that got wacked on her knee, was there with her daughter for her first ever Brewer game. They ended up leaving right after that. The drunken party below us continued for the rest of the game. Many of them were standing and singing pirate drinking songs. I bet they had maybe 100 in their group and not one could have ever told you what the score of the game was. About the eighth inning, my wife went to the restroom. Soon, a young man and woman squeezed into the spot my wife was sitting. I told them that they were in her seat, but they said that they were with the pirate group and had the right to sit anywhere they wanted to. I had had enough. Even though this punk/thug was 40 years younger than I am, I stood up and in so many words, suggested to him that he leave my wife's seat before I play hide the hot dog he holding in one of his body cavities. They did get up and leave, but not until he swore at me. We then left to go home before the ninth inning. That was the first time in 50 years that I ever left a ball game early. I'm still researching this Kap & Keg group, but we have written to the Journal/Sentinal and the Brewers president. I sorry for the rant, but it was a very bad experience for us. I'm not a prude, but this drunken behavior at Miller Park needs to stopped. Thank you Bruce
  2. I think I like Ridnour over Williams only because he seems more of a pass first kind of guy. We do have a decent amount of offensive firepower so the Bucks need a good distributor. Now only if they learned how to play defense..............
  3. Two MD's is a light day for me Mountain Dew = Coffee for me. I am not really sure which one is actually worse for you and for your teeth. Probably neither, especially since when I do drink coffee a dump a ton of sugar in there
  4. I think he has done an excellent job, the only thing I don't agree with is his crazy homefield advantage scheme. It is ludicrous that home field advantage for the World freakinh Series is determined by who wins an exhibition game. That is just dumb. But besides that I think he has been awesome
  5. Soriano was just awful yesterday and I was happy BBTN really ripped into him. That was just awful. I would hope if one of our guys did that that Ned would sit his butt on the bench. We all thought Braun might have hot dogged that would in St Louis but Soriano was 10x worse and his didn't make it out. That exact scenario is what most people were complaining about in the Braun episode. If Braun's ball didn't get out he would have looked just as foolish as Soriano, although Braun was running a little harder he probably would have still made it to 2nd.
  6. I am still hoping that they trade Villanueva for something and then just throw Alezander into the fire
  7. As a journalist you just have to assume that anyone could read that blog post, including Ned Yost and Rickie Weeks. Just that fact makes it incredibly irresponsible. You don't constantly question and ridicule members of the team your suppose to be covering even it is in a blog. That is sure fire way to get your media privileges revoked and an easy way to lose all respect in the clubhouse. Of course it seems obvious that he really doesn't have the respect anyways after he posted the "Yost is Fired" rumor back in May when he had absolutely no reliable source to back that up.
  8. I wouldn't be suprised if he put his own mug on his induction hat. Afterall that really is all he ever cared about.
  9. One of my favority movies, Anchorman. It really is to bad that Will Ferrel is turning into a joke. He is more quantity than quality at this point. I loved Anchorman and Talladega Nights but his recent flicks are making me consider making a new avatar.
  10. Well they got a run, that is progress I suppose. And Marquis has also thrown a ton of pitches: 72 through 4 1/3
  11. In case anyone was interested. The Journal Sentinel didn't report on this until a full 4 hours after Gord said that this morning. That seems pretty bad to me. Considering Branyan's role lately, this move has virtually no effect on the team we are throwing out their every night except for the fact that we now have another outfielder and all but guaranteeing that Counsell will be getting way to many at bats in the upcoming weeks.
  12. Despite the fact that we got crushed in Milwaukee by the Cubs we could be within 1.5 games after today. The Cubs seem to be the better team but you never know what could happen with about a month and half to go. I also had a good laugh yesterday from one of my Cubs fan friends who thinks the Brewers are just god awful based soley on how they played in the Cubs series. Memo to all Cubs fans: We aren't nearly as bad as we played in that series, don't just expect to run away with this thing.
  13. So has Branyan been hurt the last 3 weeks? Because he hasn't played at all since the all star break. If he has been hurt this whole time it is stupid that he is just now going on the DL. I think I would have perhaps gone with Brad Nelson.
  14. I am more than a little nervious going to Petco considering our dependence on the HR ball. Please prove me wrong.
  15. I can't see a reason for Branyan not starting against lefties at this point, if OBP is the issue than that is the dumbest argument ever because if Branyan is good at anything it is getting on base, or at least rounding the bases. While Branyan certainly isn't a gold glover he is at most marginally worse than Counsell. The ceiling for Counsell playing is maybe a couple hits with an outside chance for a double while taking a fair amount of pitches. The ceiling for Branyan is a couple dingers. I know Branyan can also strike ou 4 times a game but Counsell has proven in the last 10 days that he can to. As has previously been pointed out, during Counsell's sudden increase in playing time he has pretty much sucked, so at least IMO Craig hasn't earned any of this which lead me to think Ned has some kind of beef with Hall and Branyan. We are in a pennant race our best 3rd basemen should be out there and that is certainly not Craig Counsell
  16. This is what bugs me about the NBA trade market. So many trades have absolutely nothing to do with the product on the court, they are strictly financial moves. Stop giving mediocre players millions of dollars and we wouldn't have to constantly see these salary dump type of moves. I kind of hope that a star like LeBron or Kobe actually goes and plays in Europe, maybe it will knock some sense into the league and maybe they will realize the league isn't as healthy as they think it is.
  17. I'll volunteer to play against him. I'll play 1st base. This is excellent news. If he can come back even to be our 8th inning guy down the stretch run I will be very happy. You know if he is able to start Bush would most likely get bumped to the bullpen even though he has outperformed Soup.
  18. But the fact that the Cardinals face the Marlins and the Marlins are also a WC contender has me split about who I want to win. I am nto sure which team has more staying power. I think I will cheer for the Fish though.
  19. Go Aaron Heilman. I will be a very happy man with a Brewers win plus a Mets and Cardinals loss. Altough at this point I am not sure I care who wins the Marlins/Cardinals game.
  20. I also went to bed before watching it. I can't watch video here at work but I will be going to the olypics website to see the replay, sounds pretty crazy. I didn't know this race was last night otherwise I would have stayed up to watch it. Also Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh might be the best beach volleyball team ever.
  21. Holy crap Cincy is in one heck of a tailspin. With the impending loss of Dunn this team could have som problems, they have a lot of young SP and a couple good lefties in Bruce & Votto but atleast IMO their future isn't looking as bright as it once was. Cueto and Volquez have fallen back quite a bit and Homer Bailey just can't do anything right it seems.
  22. Apparently "Scotty Engage Cloaking Device" may take on new meaning shortly because scientists are close to developing a 3 dimensional cloaking device. That is just crazy, I just can't imagine all the implementations for something like that. Insert Gagne/Mota joke now.
  23. Bird Ya-a I love Monday afternoon games, nice way to get the work week going.
  24. Well they did go into extra innings. Ryan Franklins was so good last year and for the most part this year, but he has completely fallen apart in the last month or so. I don't mind that Cubs won either, we could be up 2 games in the WC rather than only 4 games back of the division. I would just assume the Cubs sweep the Cards and then proceed to lose like 3 out of their next 5 or something like that. Meanwhile the Brewers go 7-0 against the Nats and Padres. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  25. Man I loved jeopardy on SNL. One of the greatest running skits ever. I can't see I am incredibly knowledgeable in any single category. I guess I could go authors with John Grisham, Dean Koontz, Robert Ludlum, and Vince Flynn. And of course Brewers trivia. My 6th could be Oregon Trail. That darn Missouri River.
