  1. Walsh had 124 freaking walks last year. That might have been more than our entire infield had last year.
  2. My kids force me to watch the Polar Express every time its on; which is basically every other night on ABC Family. I liked it the first couple times; after that not so much. Personally Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story are the two I enjoy the most; of course in moderation
  3. If the system is that weak maybe they are looking at some talent on the 25 man that is controllable. If you get some decent talent for 3-4 years that wouldn't be all that bad. Obviously just depends on who it is
  4. The early returns based only on the win/loss record after that Knight trade are not very encouraging. Yes other personnel have changed as well but at least in my opinion we overpaid for what Middleton is. He will never be the go to scorer that Knight was. MCW has not progressed much in the approximately 1/2 season he has played under Kidd. Overall the team is disappointing so far this year. Playing absolutely no defense at all. Giannis has continued onto the next step which is nice to see though
  5. Seems pretty underwhelming for a pretty darn good closer.
  6. I just read "The Martian" and really liked it. Is the movie any good?
  7. Anyone here use Sling TV along with an Amazon Firestick or Roku? I am thinking about cutting the cord. I wouldn't get FSN anymore so no Brewers or Bucks games but the combination of Sling and a HDTV antenna could get me most of the channels I already watch for about $25 a month instead of $100+. I am not a tech weenie so I am little nervous relying on the internet for TV. I would get Charter cable internet so I am hoping that is reliable and fast enough so that it isn't an annoyance.
  8. Middleton needs to start earning his money too. Really outside of Giannis and Monroe everyone else has been pretty disappointing. Giannis seems like the only guy out there that gives a crap. They really need Mayo and Parker out there because guys like O'Bryant, INglis, and Plumlee just shouldn't be out there. I hate that Plumlee is the only true C backup behind Monroe; the guy is pretty bad. Henson is a undersized C but he needs to play there when Monroe is sitting
  9. Giannis looked like a shot the 3 pretty good in the preseason. That doesn't mean much but I am hoping he'll be better. They don't need him to be Ray Allen or anything. If he can show even a decent jump shot teams will need to respect him out there and he'll blow by most defenders. They seem to be babying Parker a little bit which is fine I guess. He has been practicing this whole time so I am not quite sure why they can't give him some game time too. I'll put my win total at 47 and they will make the 2nd round of the playoffs for the first time in I don't know how long. I actually plan on watching the games this year which is a vast improvement over years past. Lots of young exciting players to watch. I think Vaughn might even end up contributing
  10. Well the inspection on our house more or less went fine; they might ask for some minor things but nothing that will be too expensive. We have the inspection on the new house this weekend but I am not expecting any issues. I took a friend in construction through the house when we were first looking and he thought it looked pretty good other than some minor craftsmanship issues. The waiting until closing thing really sucks; we are just ready to move on with our lives. The entire summer has been cleaning our house for showing and open houses and looking at new houses. Really looking forward to settling down before the holidays.
  11. We were able to sell our house just when we basically decided to take it off of the market, plus we got pretty close to our asking price. Then within 3 days of signing that contract we found our dream home on a huge lot for way less then we figured we would have to spend. Its been a great week. Still terrified that the home inspection or appraisal will go horribly wrong; I have never had to sell a house before.
  12. The Bucks should easily compete for a decent seed in the playoffs this year but I think they are still a year or two away from being a title contender. I think they need to get some outside shooting and hopefully Parker, Giannis, and MCW take steps forward in that area. Monroe should help a ton; having a legitimate big man that can rebound and score should be huge. Maybe by next year the rookie SG will develop a bit and be that guy. He is supposedly a pretty true scorer Winning 50 games is probably stretching it but I can see something like 44-38 or so.
  13. I will just like to add that Jorge Lopez might need to be included in the long term starting rotation. He is already at AA so a late call up next year isn't out of the realm of possibility. Plus you have all sorts of intriguing guys in A Ball including Medeiros, Williams, Kirby, Ponce, and Sneed who look like they have potential to be middle of the rotation guys. As for position players also don't forget about Roache; he has taken a monumental step forward this year; not sure where he goes long term with the other outfielders we have but he certainly could fit in somewhere. But he is in AA and could contribute fairly soon as well. Arcia, Phillips, Roache, Reed could all be knocking on the doorstep fairly quickly.
  14. Lopez also looks really close to being ready for the big leagues too; maybe sometime next year. Too me it doesn't make sense to really sign anyone other than a 1 year stopgap. If you are going to do that; you might as well just fill the gap with the AAAA filler we already have. Not including Garza we hopefully will have a lot of pitchers to pick from including Peralta, Jungmann, Nelson, Cravy, Lopez, Davies, and Wagner. Then you have guys that might not be too far behind in Williams, Medeiros, Ponce, Kirby, Sneed. I am sure I am missing someone. If it appears we really need that missing piece to be a strong contender I would advocate making a big splash in FA; but until then I think we have more than enough young guys to hold the fort. Couple those with youngsters like Arcia, Phillips, Roache, Reed, and Santana and I think the future is looking pretty bright for 2017.
  15. Yeah I don't understand the service time concerns for these guys. If they show they are ready to play in MLB let them play. At least then if we can become competitive again in 2017 or 2018 they all have some playing time under their belt instead of being rookies trying to feel their way. Let them take their lumps for a year so we are ready to compete after that. This shouldn't be a Cubs or Astros style rebuild that takes 4 years; I am hoping it takes 2.
  16. If Santana can carry a 340 OBP to go along with this other strong tools I really don't care how many times he strikes out to be honest with you. I think he absolutely will be a middle of the order hitter for the Brewers for hopefully a long time.
  17. What is going on with Lara? He has completely fallen off a cliff
  18. So Davies more or less replaces Fiers?
  19. I am sad about Fiers leaving; I guess the great start by Junngmann made Doug think he could spare one of the younger starters
  20. I am really excited about Phillips. 21 year old who just mashes and looks like he can actually take a walk.
  21. After looking at all 4; I am reasonably excited about all of them. I think it is a good haul
  22. OK Brett Phillips looks pretty sweet and is already in AA.
  23. None of those names ring a bell to me; but I am not a MILB expert either
