  1. Denson with a nice day today but sad to see Harrison continuing to struggle.
  2. 50 shots in one game is quite the accomplishment. I have no problem with it; clearly the guy deserved to go out swinging. Bucks have no shot at Heild I don't think unless they trade up. I don't like a lot of the names around 10 where the Bucks will be picking. Sounds like their might be some kind of shakeup with Hammond and Kidd; something will probably go down there.
  3. I like to think I follow the minors pretty well but I didn't have the faintest idea who Karsen Lindell was. David Denson is probably the main guy for me; the pure power is still enticing but he hasn't really shown it at all so far.
  4. We have a ridiculous amount of SS depth. Villar, Rivera, Arcia, Diaz, Betancourt. Literally every level of the organization has a competent SS that can hit and field. That's kind of nuts. Also I am all in on the Santana bandwagon. His progression will be huge towards deciding when this team will be true contenders again. How good could our bullpen be once Smith gets back? Thornburg and Jeffress have been lights out and Blazek has been solid. Really a ton of stuff to be exciting about so far both in Milwaukee and in the minors.
  5. Real nice day so far in the matinees. Diaz and Harrison both with 3 hit days with two extra base hits. Pitching performances at A and AAA also pretty solid. Cecchini continues to hit pretty well too although not for much power.
  6. Lucroy is a solid defensive catcher; if anyone could adapt to a new pitching staff it would seem like he could. After all the Brewers have mowed through many pitchers in his time here. It maybe would take him 2 turns through the rotation with a new team to get acclimated.
  7. I see a CC Sabathia scenario if anything. Trade him a couple weeks before the deadline.
  8. I mean who do #11, #15, and #27 even want to go to Duke/Kentucky when they playing 2nd fiddle to the more highly touted guys that were recruited and already on the bench. They are going to be role players most likely on really good teams. If it were me and I was ranked that high I would go somewhere where I would start and possibly be THE guy. I guess the allure of playing one year at Kentucky or Duke is very appealing to those guys.
  9. Priority #1 - Giannis works on his jump shot Priority #2 - Parker works on his jump shot Really if both Parker and Giannis develop a solid 3 point game; I don't care if MCW can't shoot or if Monroe isn't the greatest defender in the world. It would be extremely difficult to guard the Bucks if those guys start shooting. In an ideal world I would like a more athletic 5 to take over for Monroe. Bucks will probably be picking around 10 and there likely won't be a sure thing around at that point. I don't think Jamal Murray will be around at that point and I don't think there is a really pure scorer that will go in the 8-12 range based on the mock drafts I have seen. Nbadraft.net has them taking Jaylen Brown from Cal at #9 and Melo Trimble and Wade Baldwin in Round #2. I actually would like those Round 2 picks but Jaylen Brown does nothing for me; volume shooter who shot 43% for the year including 30% from 3 and only 65% from FT.
  10. Really hoping our MWL hitters come around a bit this week with the warmer temps. A really nice first start for Derby in his organizational debut.
  11. If Aaron Hill doesn't figure his bat out soon, the one hit yesterday notwithstanding, I think there will plenty of playing time to go around for Walsh, Rivera, Villar, and Gennett. Walsh and Rivera specifically should get a couple starts a week if Hill falls out of the starting lineup.
  12. I also stayed at the Westin a few years back. Don't try to tailgate; we got a lot of weird looks and were the only ones in the parking lot for about an hour. One game we sat on field level and the 2nd game we scalped tickets which happened to be the very top row on the 3rd base side. I am not a fan of heights so I would never do that again. I don't recall any restaurants or bars at all but there is a lot within walking distance of the park and the Westin.
  13. Looks like the rain will move out by game time but it is going to be pretty sloppy out there. A 2.54 WHIP is pretty impressive even it was only one game.
  14. Thanks; I just re-downloaded it and now everything is current.
  15. Is the MILB app working for anyone else? The schedule is still stuck on last September so the current games aren't being shown.
  16. Why? We have a young prospect who people are very high on, a competent 3B at least defensively that we might be able to flip, and we haven't even got to see Anderson pitch a MLB season with the Brewers, a guy we have for a few more years. It was time for us to move on from Jean. He was that bad the last couple of seasons. Maybe he will have success elsewhere but it doesn't mean that it wasn't time. Why because if he all of a sudden turned into All Star Segura again if the Brewers still had him they probably could flip him at the trading deadline this year and get a better package than they got. That being said he was atrocious and had no issues with the trade. It would just be bad luck if all of a sudden he figured it out again (for more than 2-3 months).
  17. Segura has more extra base hits in 2 game so far than I think he had for about a 2 month stretch with the Brewers. If he all of a sudden figured out how to hit again this year that would kind of suck.
  18. I just can't like Duke because of the tripper and Coach K just seems like a smug arrogant jerk. UNC sooner or later is going to get hit with some major penalties; I just don't see how it can be avoided given everything that happened. Duke = Kentucky now since they both clearly now are the epicenters for one and done recruiting. Coack K is not the tool and Calipari is but the programs are essentially the same now. The minor leagues for the NBA. Make no mistake though Duke is going to be very good next year. Allen is returning and they bring in like 3 Top 10 guys. That certainly doesn't guaranty anything though; just look at Kentucky this year. Skal was a Top 3 recruit and was pretty much terrible and they also had some other very high recruits but had only a so-so year. Cool to see Joe K come back to the Badgers an assistant. Obviously a young guy with not much of a track record but it probably is a good idea to get a younger guy on the bench that can relate to recruits and kids a little better. Smart guy so hopefully he can turn out to be a nice recruiter; I doubt he will contribute much to game day for a while yet.
  19. Nothing to contribute other than to say it is awesome to see the first Link Report of the year.
  20. We won't go 0-162 so that is nice. Jungman, Nelson, Jeffress, and Blazek with nice starts to the year. To bad we need more than 4 pitchers.
  21. They sure are grounding into double plays at less than ideal times at an alarming rate so far. RISP not good.
  22. SF really wants Bumgarner to get the win I guess. Up 7-3 but with the stress he has gone through and his illness I think they could have just pinch hit for him here and sent him to the showers. Welcome Carlos Torres. Nice way to start for him.
  23. Villar and Gennett homering on the same day will almost surely not happen again in 2016.
  24. Maybe our expectations for Peralta were to high. He was supposed to be the shining star when our minor league system was pretty bad. Maybe in reality his stuff was never that good and we just hyped him to much because there was no one else to hype.
