  1. While there isn't a Braun or Sheets in the group; I think there are more than a couple potential "Harts" or "Gallardos". If realized that is more then enough talent to keep Milwaukee competitive if DM can supplement that talent with FA and trades. I think there might be reasonable hope that a star might emerge; but those guys are in A right now. A couple years from now we might look back and see how stacked WI was this year. Roache, Haniger, Coulter, Taylor. One or more of those guys is going to turn into a stud hopefully.
  2. I would put Lucroy at #4 and Gomez at #5. Weeks, Gonzalez, and Yuni can make up 6-7-8; don't really care who bats 6,7, or 8 out of that group. RR is going to have a nice problem on his hands once Hart and Aram returns. That is a really deep lineup with the emergence of Segura and Gomez. Weeks might be hitting 7 or 8 just by default.
  3. The 7 day forecast now gives me some hope. Upper 50's low 60's later this week/weekend with no rain. Just have to make it a couple more days............
  4. Someone is going to have to explain to me an unassisted double play by Segura on a guy at 1st base.
  5. I think Peralta should be on a little longer leash that Fiers is/was. You can tell the stuff is there; but I don't know if he loses focus or what but he just has a bad inning here or there that screws up his entire line. The 5th last night; the 6th inning the time before. I can't imagine he had run out of gas by then; his pitch counts were fine. Burgos has shown what he can do in the minors; he definitely has earned a chance in MLB.
  6. I have a 2 year old that is desperate to go to the park. I could probably handle taking her there between 50-55 degrees; the problem is that the playground equipment is still in 1 foot of water at the moment. I got outside to go for a run yesterday and it was glorious.
  7. Segura looks like a guy that could contend for a batting title someday and maybe hit 10-15 home runs and steal 20-30 bases. I think you have to approach him this offseason if he continues to play as well as he has. Obviously he isnt going to hit .400 but with his speed he sure seems like a guy that could hit .320-330 with a .370 + OBP. That would be extremely valuable out of SS.
  8. It is amazing what back to back 3 hit games will do to a BA in April; good couple of days for Gomez. Now he is just chasing that elusive first walk.
  9. I am really looking forward to this 2.5 to 3 inches of rain projected from Wednesday through Friday. It is exactly what we need. 10 day forecast has one day above 50 in it
  10. I sure hope Ariel Pena turns into something. Getting Segura makes me feel that the Grienke trade was a win and Hellweg looks very promising. Pena on the other hand has been pretty horrendous in the 9 games he has pitched with MIL. His 2012 with Arkansas was really really good but he has just completely bombed ever since getting traded. I know the Brewers tend to screw up there minor league pitching; but that is some kind of record.
  11. .22 is probably like 10 beers in 2-3 hours right? I have experienced being that drunk before and even in that mindset knew enough to not drive. Trying to drive when you have a .10 BAC is one thing; trying to drive .22 BAC when you know damn well you shouldn't be driving is quite another.
  12. This is going to end up being a horrible decision. There is virtually no chance he is a 1st round pick and there are no gauranteed contracts in the 2nd round. Now if he doesn't care if he plays in Europe then his decision is fine; but if he thinks he is good enough for the NBA right now I guess I have to disagree with that. He made tremendous strides this year but he is neither a great shooter or a great penetrator. He probably feels that since this is a horrible draft class that this year might be his best chance of getting drafted.
  13. Farmers are going to be lucky to have anything in the field before the middle of May the way this season is going. Downpouring again. With the amount of snow melt and rain we have gotten this year we still have not gotten close to the flood stage from June 2008. This year just makes 2008 look that much more incredible. We haven't gotten anywhere close to the 8-10 inches we got in a week that year
  14. The Bucks have been so unbelievably bad recently. Congrats you are going to make the playoffs being 4 games under .500. Cause for celebration. I will be shocked if they win a game. I know they have had some injuries but they are losing to Charlotte and Orlando for goodness sakes. Do you think they will manage to sell out either of the home games?
  15. It sure seems that if any player is suspended by MLB through Biogenesis that MLB would be in a world of hurt if said player sued. There have been a ridiculous amount of questionable tactics sorrounding this case. If MLB actually tried to suspend Braun I am guessing Braun could sue and even if he were to end up losing; postpone the suspension for a long time.
  16. As bad as the lineup is currently; it isn't the reason we are 1-5. All facets of the pitching staff have been horrendous
  17. I know nothing about the circumstances behind Thomas. All that I saw was the article by Hunt that his scholly was taken away because they needed it for someone else. Obviously my feelings are a little different now that some new details were pointed out
  18. That was a rather disappointing finish to the Wichita State Louisville game mainly because I was cheering for Wichita. Both the souble foul and jump ball calls were rather questionable. Baker nearly got his head taken off but somehow managed to foul the guy and the Louisville guy maybe had his hand on the ball for like .3 seconds and got the jump ball. Let the final 8 seconds play itself out; don't just end the game on a quick whistle.
  19. Our lineup is going to be brutal if Braun and Aram miss any extended period of time
  20. Not cool for Marquette to be pulling Jake Thomas' scholly because they oversigned this year. I know a scholarship is not guaranteed for 4 years; but to get dispatched like that has got to be pretty rough. And now he has to sit out a year before he can play again. How is that fair?
  21. Carlos did have a 9 pitch AB on Opening Day though. And one of his first pitch swings yesterday was a rocket to 3B; can't remember the other one.
  22. fastball right down the middle Blows away two straight hitters then gives up a meatball; that is the Axford we know and love
  23. Amazing how much of a steal Aoki has been. Brewers really lucked into one there
