  1. They nearly made the finals in 2001 primarily through the draft (for the most part) with Big Dog and Ray; no reason they couldn't do it again. The 2013 draft class does look rather pathetic. They have already won too much this year to really have any shot of a top #3 pick anways so they might as well play for the playoffs and hope for the best. There probably isn't a big difference between drafting at #12 or #20. I guess the East is a little underwhelming this year and the Bucks would have at least a shot of beating anyone but the Heat; but I guess I still can't get myself excited about the postseason.
  2. Not going to win many games going 7-18 from the FT line. Free Throw shooting sure seems like UW's achilles heel this year. I am not to worried about the tourney yet; but they really need a win against MN this weekend.
  3. So Hart is seeking a 2nd opinion; his surgery was supposed to be today. Hopefully that May return date doesn't turn into June or July because his surgery is delayed or even worse he tries to let it heal on its own and it doesn't.
  4. I will say no; it took him too long to even become competent at 2nd that I don't want to even attempt to try him anywhere else. He still isn't good at 2nd; I would have no confidence in him at 3rd thats for sure. He could play 1st but basically anybody can play 1st. I don't think he could play OF either. I think he is a 2nd basemen until he retirer witht he possible excpetion of an AL DH.
  5. Those two home playoff games might get them in the black. Yay? I am starting to lean towards keeping Jennings around; but now he will probably go into one of his shooting slumps and I will change my mind again. No real reason to keep Ellis around IMO. If the goal is to make the playoffs I don't think trading Ellis really hampers that effort at all. Too bad Lamb hasn't emerged yet so he can take that SG spot. Glad to see Henson and Sanders emerging and playing well; hoping for the same eventually from Harris and Lamb.
  6. I just hope this inflamation didn't happen back in November and they thought it would get better. If it truly happened recently then there isn't a whole lot you can do. Gamel will at least get a 2nd chance; but if he fails miserably they might as well cut him when Hart gets back and commit to Morris for 2014. Of course this could also lower the price of an extension for Hart too; obviously assuming he comes back and plays like his normal self for a couple of months.
  7. There handling of this compared to the Seeberg case and also that sizzorlift death is pretty appalling; but for reasons unknown the media I have watched have had no interest going down that road. To so vigilantly defend Teo but try to sweep the other stuff under the rug is rather ridiculous. Now we know that ND knew well before the NC and Teo mentioned the girlfriend numerous times after he "learned" she was a fake. Teo and Notre Dame are coming out of this looking horribly; regardless of if Teo was complicit in any of the deception. Both university and Teo have lied to cover there butts. I can somewhat understand Teo lying under the circumstances but ND is an education institution that has no business doing what they are doing.
  8. I just think it is hilarious. He had talked about meeting her. So either he made up a couple white lies to hide the fact that he was dating over the internet and had never actually met her; or he was in on the whole darn thing. Either way Teo comes out of this looking pretty dumb. I just can't logically see the reason for Teo to run a scam of this magnitude; but nor can I logically see how he could have been duped so badly. There should have been red flags going off everywhere.
  9. I guess I should just trust Bo that he will come up with a Leuer / Bergren / Wilkinson / Landry / Nankavil by this time next year. You are right; he will always find his guy. Although it will be pretty tough to rely on Hayes and/or Brown to contribute as freshman. Hayes, Brown, Koenigs has to be one of his more decorated recruiting classes. Really would have been nice if Marquette or UW could have kept Tokoto, Fischer, or Thomas in state recently; the level of talent at UW and Marquette would look pretty incredible right now.
  10. As for next year.....they might struggle with a guard heavy team but the next two years after that - watch out. Why do you say that? Do they have some sort of stud big man recruit that I don't know about? Surely no one on the current roster is going to turn into anything more than a role player. Is there some Wisconsin kid that is a big prospect coming up? Too bad they could get the kid out of Germantown that is going to Indiana next year. That would have been a nice get.
  11. Thanks for the tips; I wll run those by my wife to see what she thinks. Amazingly the same girl who refuses to sleep is almost completely potty trained at a little less than 2 years old. She hasn't had an accident in 2 weeks. The only remaining hurdle is taking off the diaper for bedtime. That part I have been very happy with. We are going to move her to a big girl bed shortly; we hope that might help a little bit. She won't be "locked" up in her crib anymore.
  12. Berg surprises a lot of people with how quick he can jump. He is pretty athletic. With a road win against Indiana, UW will basically have to collapse to not make the tourney. That is rather remarkabe considering how awful they looked against Florida and Marquette. It really all comes down to getting better gaurd play. Dekker has also taken on a bigger role which is nice to see; he isn't afraid to take a big shot. Evans is still very disappointing to me though. His confidence is shot and he has taken a major step back this year. This year is turning out much better than expected; but in the back of mind I can't really figure out who Bo is going to come up with to play the 4/5 next year. They wll have Gasser, Brust, Jackson, and Marshall at the 1-2; Dekker at the 3, and than what at the 4-5? Kaminsky is no where near big enough to handle the 5 and no other big guys even sniff the court.
  13. Well I'll be damned; talk about a statement win. Jackson had some stupid fouls but he is getting so much better every game
  14. Tonight's game should be a pretty good indicator on how good UW is. If they stay within 10 then they probably have what it takes to make the dance; if they lose by 30 then I am not so sure. They are going to have to hit some 3's; can't rely on Berg to score points tonight.
  15. While we are on the advice topice; if anyone has any suggestions for getting a 2 year old to sleep in her bed and not wake up crying every hour that would be appreciated. My daughter does not self sooth and always eventually works herself into a frenzy if we let her cry it out. Kinda sucks. No idea why she is waking up at all.
  16. Yeah I didn't want to find out how much a locksmith was going to charge me to come out on a Sunday. Plus up until that point; my garage did not have a functioning lock so I took the opportunity to fix that myself. If my stuff hadn't shown up; I was prepared to call alocksmith to have both of my cars rekeyed; god only knows how much that would have cost especially with one of the cars being a newer model with the electronic key.
  17. I have a daughter that is just turning 2. My advice would be to practice a little sleep deprivation (That is unless your wife is going to do all of that). It was incredibly difficult for me not to get all mad when she started crying at 2 AM. Eventually you get used to it but those first couple of months are a major adjustment. FYI my kid still isn't sleeping and things have progressively gotten worse; we are lucky is she sleeps 2 hours at a time. Still not quite sure where we went wrong but man did we ever. We had difficulty letting her cry it out and she simply never could settle down from crying unless we were holding her. Also make sure you have your car seat in there good and early; I would even take it to the fire department and they will put it in there free of charge. Might need an appointment though. Overall fatherhood is a joy despite the lack of sleep and poopy diapers.
  18. UW will be lucky to stay within 20 against IU tomorrow. The schedule for the next month is increidbly difficult. OUt of the next 10 games; 8 are against teams ranked in the Top #25. In order to have a legitimate shot at the tourney they have to beat at least a couple of those ranked teams. Home against MSU and Minnesota are probably the most likely. There last 5 games are incredibly easy with 4 of them against NW, Nebraska, Purdue, and Penn St. UW still has some work to do before I think they are in the tourney, but things are looking better. MU has definitely improved there stock in the last couple of weeks; still could use another win or two against ranked teams. It will definitely help them if UW goes on a roll.
  19. Normally I never take anything to the gym with me because I know they have had problems with people's stuff showing up missing. It is pretty sad; it is a brand new building but its not like you can put cameras in locker rooms. Anyways yesterday I was a little different because I took my daughter swimming and without thinking I through my keys, wallet, etc into the bag with our extra clothes. It didn't even dawn on me at the time. I got back to the locker room, noticed my bad was missing and basically sprinted outside to make sure my car was still there. Fortunately it was. Bottom line is lesson learned and I will never forget to lock my valuables up if I bring them in again. Some people are just horrible, the jerk was considerate enough though to take my daughters change of clothes out of the bag he stole and just lay them in the locker. How nice of him/her.
  20. Yesterday my gym bag including my keys and wallet was stolen when I was working out. Upon finding out I immediately cancelled all my cards and changed all of the locks on my house. All the locks probably cost me about $100. I went to work out this morning and they told me they found my bag. Apparently the jerk grabbed by bag; looked for any cash, and when he didn't find any he just dumped it somewhere else at the gym. Eventually someone found it. I am very thankful that everything was found; but man what a pain in the butt it was to cancel everything and buy and change all of those locks. I basically have no access to money for the next 3 days while I wait for my new cards to get here. ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=825725#p825725 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=2392
  21. Sea Bass Gonzalez?
  22. At this point maybe Milwaukee is better off having a new owner actually move the team. If the team actually leaves it probably makes the incentive to build a new arena even greater. Start a new expansion team and you can actually get some real high draft picks for 3+ years. That situation is probably preferable to the Bucks current situation of drafting 15th constantly, having no stars on the team, and having terrible attendance. Having a clean slate for an NBA team would be very intrigiung; although obviously they will be awful for at least 2-3 years. If the Bucks did leave I have no idea how likely an expansion team or a relocation of another franchise to MIL would even be though. Milwaukee is a great sports town; I think there would be a fit for the NBA no matter what.
  23. TH amazingly voted for 10 guys including Sosa, Clemens, and Bonds. I justified the selections in his article but I am not buying it. There is enough circumstantial evidence and common sense that these guys should be in the group with Palmeiro and McGwire that he stated he would never vote for.
  24. Lamb, Henson, Harris, Sanders, Udoh, and Dunleavy are really the only guys I think they should keep long term. Everyone else should be fair game although guys like PRyzbilla and Gooden the Bucks probably couldn't even give away.
  25. The Bucks are about where everyone thought they would be; a middling .500 team that might sneak into the playoffs and a gain a quick exit. Unless the Senator is content with the above scenario year and year out than the team just needs a total rebuild; and play the young guys for gosh sakes. Let Sanders, Harris, and Lamb get some extended minutes; they are the future after all. Let Jennings and Ellis walk after this year; trade Ersan. Just tank and get the Top #5 pick that they desperately need. Fan support can't really get any worse for the Bucks if they tank anyways. Skiles does tend to wear out his welcome and he was right on schedule for it to happen this year. Same thing happened in his previous stops.
