  1. Except that prior to Gamel getting banged up at the plate Ishikawa had started one game (maybe 2). Big Deal. Gamel isn't Prince Fielder and has shown that he could or should be in the lineup everyday. Him getting a day off here and there is not going to hinder is development.
  2. I think you are nit picking a bit; he has looked awful the last couple days and I don't see anything wrong in a manager sitting him down for that. He probably is hurt more than he is letting on because between the crappy hitting and the horrible paly he mad at 1B; he just hasn't looked himself that last couple days
  3. And we would want to cut Ishikawa after his last two games why? I get the general principal behind wanting to demote Ishikawa to get some more flexibility but he has looked good at the plate and I would hate to demote the guy just because Izturis is the only RH off the bench when we face a left handed starter
  4. Do the Brewers ever win day games? Probably my selective memory but even going back to last year it seems that we are a better night team.
  5. Well isn't this like the 2nrd or 3rd time all season that Izturiz has pinch hit? Granted this is obviously the perfect situation for an actual legitimate RH pinch hitter; but its splitting hairs trying to decide between Ishikawa and Izturis. I would have stuck with Ishikawa though.
  6. RR really wishes he hadn't used Krod yesterday now. McClendon has decided to not show up today
  7. What people expect Aram to be released because he forgot the numbers of outs. Allmost every night on the highlights some player makes a mental error. Just because the guy makes a huge some of money doesn't mean he is immune from mental breakdowns from time to time. You don't think the CEO's of Fortune 500 companies never make mistakes? Professional athletes face more scrutiny than almost any other profession in the US, I just think it is just a little ridiculous that fans get on their case so much. People will make mistakes whether they are making $30,000 or $3,000,000 and the mistake for the $3 Million player isn't any worse in the grand scheme of things.
  8. I had a screw up in my job yesterday; it happens. It is just more visual with baseball players. Players make mental mistakes, it happens. They aren't going to be perfect 100% of the time.
  9. I definitely go NFL Network for the draft. Also apparently the NFL is making an effort to avoid leaked picks this year although I am sure Berman will have to be his blowhard self and preannounce them. I never really liked Michaels and I don't especially like the sports people at WTMJ right now either; just haven't gotten into Sports radio at all.
  10. Well the closest I could come up with is having Braun, Weeks, Hart, Ramirez, Gallardo, and Grienke all on the DL at the same time. We would be beyond awful; probably 50-60 wins over the course of the year bad.
  11. Well Aoki gets the start today in CF; if he has a good performance I am sure it wil lead to more in the future especially if Morgan continues to struggle.
  12. I don't get why you don't just start Peralta; he would be on an extra days rest and he is used to starting rather than relieving. It will be interesting to see what they do once Loe comes back from bereavement. Probably just start Estrada with McClendon in the pen. I would rather see Peralta start but only because he is the up and coming prospect and I just want to watch the guy. Estrada should be fine so long as he isn't out there starting for the rest of the year; he is just a spot starter.
  13. We should trying making contact against Wright; it would be helpful
  14. Bo is looking more and more like a petty tool regarding this Uthoff situation. Just let him transfer anywhere but B10 and Marquette and be done with it. Why the heck should Bo care that Uthoff might end up at Florida or ACC where the Badgers might play them in a regular season game? Who the heck cares? Just let him transfer and move on; he is getting killed in the media right now and is getting what he deserves
  15. Ron is very much into set orders in the lineup so it isn't suprising that he wants Aram to battle through it in the #4 spot. Its not like he would move down to #8 or something; maybe #5 or #6. I don't think there would be much of a difference on this team whether you are batting 4,5 or 6.
  16. Rivals final prospect ranking had Dekker as #15 and a 5 Star player. Man that kid shot up the latter fast; even more of a shame he didn't make the McDonalds All American team. Dekker will almost surely get significant minutes next year. Blocking Uthoff from B10 and Marquette are kind of a given and the rumor is that Iowa State was snooping around him and Bo decided to block them as well. The ACC doesn't make much sense though; not much of a reason to block them. It just seems weird that Uthoff all of a sudden wants to transfer to a school that better fits his playing style. Last time I checked UW didn't change the way its played since they recruited and signed the guy. He should not have been suprised; perhaps he is leaving because of threat of reduced playing time because of Dekker.
  17. Aram at SS and Gamel at 3B would have been very entertaining to watch. I am glad we won but I would have been curious how bad that infield could have turned out. I am almost positive Gomez could probably play SS better than what Aram could. He strikes me as a guy who could fit in basically anywhere defensively. Just great instincts
  18. So long as the pitching talent in MILB moves along in 2012 it makes no sense to completely rebuild. The offensive core is still really strong; if only 2 of the 5-6 guys in MILB turn out to be above average or better MLB starters than this team will be really strong for a while. Long term the Brewers need to develop some hitting prospects because they aren't going to have Weeks and Hart forever (At least at their current production). I am much more comfortable with our long term pitching prospects than hitting.
  19. RR just doesn't like walking people; it is just not part of his managing ideals. I can't fault him for pitching to Uggla because he is sticking with what he believes in and Krod is a hell of a lot better at striking people out than he is getting a ground ball. I probably would have walked him; but RR has shown over and over again that he doesn't like doing that. It is what it is Obviously it didn't work out the best; but for the 2nd consecutive day a broken bat single turned out to be real important. Krod made a good pitch.
  20. Now all of a sudden the wheels fall off; 5 hits this inning
  21. You jinxed Grienke pretty bad. Steve Clevenger and Reed Johnson just got a run off of him.
  22. Now would be a good time to pinch hit Braun if he is available today.
  23. Well Gallardo has atoned pretty well for a crappy opening day start. Only a one run game, top of the order up now, and we have plenty of ammunition on the bench. Hopefully we can stratch across a run against Dempster and then get into the bullpen.
