  1. With this being a make or break year for both Hammond and Skiles I just don't know that they will draft someone that won't be able to help immediately. Skiles and Hammond can't like the current team enough to actually think they can contend in 2012-2013. Or atleast I hope they aren't thinking that
  2. JS Online is saying we swapped picks; so we moved down to #14 to get Dalembert. Still is an OK deal assuming they can still get a SG.
  3. That seems like a really strong deal. Dalembert fills that whole at C and we pick up another draft pick? They could get two quality players at #12 and #14 if they choose not to trade up. Hammond likes to trade crap for crap a lot; but this deal actually makes some sense. Brockman and Livingston aren't in the long term plans and while Leuer showed promise he probably won't be anything more than a 8th man or so. Getting a solid C and another high draft pick seems like a solid trade
  4. I guess the question is what is Melvin looking for specifically and what team has it available? I have to imagine that a legitimate SS is going to be e requirement and I have no idea what SS prospects are out there on teams that would want Grienke.
  5. TLB I think you are reading way too much into those comments. DRM has never been upfront regarding trade speculation; he keeps everything so close to the vest. I am sure he would listen to all offers but it would make sense that he would only initiate contact with teams with pieces that he actually wants. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks DRM has to stop hoping that the Brewers are going to turn it around. Similar to the CC situation, and especially now since the draft pick compensation has changed, you are going to get higher value for ZG if the acquiring team can get another 2-3 starts from him on top of Aug and Sep. Trading him on July 10th will probably get us more value than July 31st.
  6. The Brewers have given no indication that they can sweep anyone; let alone the 1st place Reds. If they win 2/3 it will be a minor miracle. If they get swept I think that is probably the final nail in the coffin. June has been terribly dissappointing; if they didn't make up any ground this month they sure as heck aren't going to get any better when they start playing good teams. Just punt the season and be gone with it. Just look at the roster Doug; even if they have a good stretch you have to look at the makeup of the team and realize that this team cannot win in the long run. Way to many holes.
  7. The Fond du Lac Reporter is now also going to a PPV site. This from a paper that basically reprints stories from other papers with no meaningful stories of there own other than prep sports. Yeah I am sure people will be lining up to pay for a newspaper that is already worthless
  8. I have seen nothing but Zeller and Leonard in the mock drafts I have seen. I would be OK with Zeller but incredibly disappointed if it is Leonard
  9. Can we just raise the White Flag already? Livan freakin Hernandez.
  10. I have this irrational fear that Jerry Sandusky is going to get off on this; Casey Anthony style. Despite some pretty damning and painful testimonies I still have a bad feeling. I hope I am wrong. If this guy really didn't do those horrible things than I am the Pope.
  11. That is pretty crazy. That will end with Ivan Rodriguez as he is a lock to be elected once eligible and they have a chance to have 3 future HOF's on there team right now.
  12. It just seems like a bad idea to gauranty that no starter will ever go past 6 innings. Needing 3-4 innings out of your bullpen every night just sounds like a bad idea. You can't use your best 3 relievers every night so you'll be using a lot of long relief guys who are normally the weakest arms on the team.
  13. 1. Pittsburgh 2. Milwaukee 3. Philly 999. Cincinnati (Awful)
  14. Or at the very least not terrible. Just win two of the (3) games in KC, (1) in MN, or (1) against TOR and we would have been 10-5 in the last 15. We had a legitimate shot to win every single game; we could be sitting on a 9 game winning streak right now.
  15. Tim Dillard is so bad. OUr bullpen is so crappy that we are down to using this guy? I understand the bullpen is a little gassed but man Dillard is so bad. I suppose it could have been worse and Perez was used.
  16. Yo will be lucky to get through 6; after all he feels the need to walk atleast 3-4 guys every game. The guy seems deathly afraid of contact; he tries to paint way to much
  17. It sucks to think how good of a roll the Crew would be on right now if the bullpen hadn't blown the KC series so badly
  18. I changed the cookies at the advice from someone here a long time ago and I have been able to read whatever I want. The top of the webpage still seems to indicate that it is a paid site but who knows.
  19. You are correct; you will get a bunch of Minnesota junk but when the time comes for games you will get the Brewers & Bucks (This coming from a guy living in FDL)
  20. After a couple years of playing golf only very sparingly and being extremely bad at it; I went to the range this past weekend to try to find a good swing for me. I think I found it and made really solid contact on 80-90% of my swings and most went in the general directions I was hoping for. Before I was lucky to make good contact 20% of the time. So this has got me itching to get out on the golf course to see if I can duplicate my swing. Looks like I won't be able to get out for at least a couple weeks. This sucks. I probably will have lost the swing by then and back to square 1.
  21. For what I understand Grienke hasn't been negotiating and has no interest in negotiations until after the season. That why I said trading him probably doesn't alter the changes of resigning him. Grienke seems to enjoy the front office aspect of baseball (he was active in preparing for the draft) so it seems logical that he wouldn't be as turned off from a trade as a normal player would. Hell if I could get traded to a winning team for 2 months and then go back to my old team that is still talented but just picked up a bunch of talent from my trade I think I would be pretty happy about the scenario.
  22. Weeks has got a .704 OPS so far in June. While that is certainly not great it is trending in the right direction. I think Weeks is on the way back up. I agree that trading Weeks right now would be incredibly foolish especially for a player that is clearly on the downside of his career and is much less likely to rebound.
  23. Didn't Braun explain his side of the story to his teammates during Spring Training. Assuming he told them the actually story it is only a matter of time before some second half anonymous info comes out. Maybe I am misremembering.
  24. Signing Grienke and trading Grienke really isn't an either or situation. I don't see how trading Grienke now makes us more or less likely of resigning him in the offseason. By all accounts Grienke is a smart guy and understands the business of baseball. He seems to like MIL and I think he would consider coming back if he were traded. I still find it highly unlikely that the Crew will pay the amount needed; but just wanted to point out that trading him isn't going to automatically mean they can't get him back from 2013 and beyond. I would rather trade him to assure us that we are going to get something of use that is atleast somewhat proven at the MILB level
  25. Braun would have to be the far and away obvious choice to ever win MVP again IMO. If it is close the other guy is going to win. So far this year it would be Votto's to lose; he has been spectacular thus far. Braun would be a solid top 3 choice right now but Votto is the clear front runner
