  1. Hmm. Last I knew she was with Romo. YostInfection makes it seem like everyone here would know her. How bout Erin Andrews. That'd be pretty legendary. I'm guessing everyone (besides Bullox and some others sure to rip me) does know her. Let me preface this by saying that I am hearing this twice removed - a friend of one of the Brewers AZ clubhouse guys - but I have no reason to believe this would be a lie. If my *credibility* (what little I have) wouldn't take a hit, and everyone would understand that this is just "second-hand" info, I'd be happy to reveal the mystery woman. And I agree with the masses, if it was EA it would be otherworldly. Sadly, it is not. But it's still good.
  2. As I read the article today in the JS on Kapler and his nutritional habits, I couldn't help but wonder a couple things: * Prince is now a vegetarian. One would think that his weight *might* balloon if he doesn't take to the soyburgers and such, and starts to eat foods that are high in carbs and calories (rice, pasta, etc) * It's my hope that Ned put Gabe's locker somewhere close to Prince's so everytime Gabe takes his shirt off to shower, Prince takes a peek over, looks down at his own girth, and makes a commitment right then and there to be more cognizant of his weight. I know, wishful thinking, but today's article did get me to thinking about nutrition and Prince a bit. Here's hoping that the young man can stay focused off the field as well.
  3. I think we are all going to think even more of young Ryan Braun once word leaks on who has been hanging around the Brewers clubhouse in Maryvale... I was hoping MolitorFan might have noticed and was going to mention it in his wonderful recap of his week down in AZ. Any female sightings, MF???
  4. What I wouldn't give to have "Stormy" in this pen right now... On a brighter note, I totally remember that article in the MJS. It was during the Foreman craze and all the players were talking about how handy the machine was and things of that nature. Ours hasn't been brought out in a year or so...maybe I'll fire that thing up tonight now that Ray King is a Brewer once again...(trumpets sounding)
  5. Nice. And all it cost us was Jeremy Jeffress. Of course I jest, but after the Linebrink/Inman deal, I'm a little curious as to who we dealt. Although once Ray strikes out Adam Dunn later this week I won't really care, I surmise...
  6. I don't want this to sound like this should be in the Vent Thread, so I'll temper my thoughts a bit... After today's game, in which Linebrink gave the lead right back to the Reds - in such a crucial inning in such a crucial game (after the Brewers showed a pulse last night in the 8-4 win), it really makes you think once again about the Inman/Garrison trade. I know Linebrink's numbers have been relatively *good* with us since the deal, but man that was a tough blow we took today. In years past, I think Scott closes the door on the Reds in the 8th. Hopefully he'll get em next time. On a brighter note, good to see Inman and Garrison picking up where they left off - we miss ya, boys.
  7. I think part of this has to be looked at from San Diego's standpoint. Why would they give up Linebrink in the middle of a pennant race? The emergence of guys like Heath Bell and Cla Meredith as 7th and 8th inning guys makes Linebrink *expendable*. In addition, they'll control those two guys for a number of years. IIRC, San Diego is considered a "mid-market" team and watches payroll closely as well. I'm sad to see Inman go - I looked forward to viewing the Link Report on days he was slated to throw, and I'll definitely follow him with San Diego. Thatcher and Garrison were intriguing, but expendable with the emergence of guys like Braddock, McClendon, et al. I like it. I like Dougie Melvin. Hopefully Billy Hall gives the offense a nice shot in the arm with his return tonight. And here's to holding off the Cubs in this pennant race. (And to say just THAT right there - pennant race - is why a trade like this gets me excited)
  8. maybe a bit premature (and could have been discussed...I'll quickly check) - but what does Dunn's deal look like going forward? I have to imagine this is a rental, since it's Wise and a prospect.
  9. With Detweiler, Porcello and Wieters all available after Pick #4, I'll be interested in seeing which one falls to the Brewers, and how we'll pass him up for Aumont or Devin.
  10. Both mlb.com and BA's final mock have us taking the HS catcher from Pennsylvania. How has this guy shot up the charts this fast??? Between all of the talk of this C and Aumont, I don't foresee us being very happy with the #7 pick. Colby - any insight on this HS catcher?
  11. Colby: I'm interested in hearing your take on Heyward. I'll admit, the man intrigues me, especially since Max signed with the D-Backs and everyone links Moustakas to the Nats. Is he the corner OF we have been looking for, or would you prefer an Aumont or Detweiler at this spot?
  12. To be honest, I am in no way ready to give up on Alex Manual Parra. With last reports of him hitting 89-92 on the gun, coupled with a 5-1 record and over a K/IP, I am excited about this guy once again. All that being said, he could go out and blow up the next few games, but I think he may have turned a corner in this past year. I'd add Parra to the SP list, for sure.
  13. I'm sure it's just a precautionary measure by Yost...
  14. I can't believe Brady got the boo-birds...then again maybe I can. In other related news, Benny is DEALING today. I feel like if I run to the bathroom for a quick #1, I'm going to miss the 10-pitch inning!
  15. I just want to see Ryan Braun in the lineup soon. Heal up, RB - we're waiting with baited breath to see what you do next...
  16. I have a serious non-sexual man crush on James Jerry Hardy. (What a defensive gem against Soriano) Please stay healthy, JJ. And please hit at least .265 for us. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. There's a part of me that likes the idea of this trade... Who's to say that Sheets will be healthy this year? He hasn't proven it in the last two years, and quite frankly, I'm starting to get nervous about his health. Conversely, who's to say that Hughes will realize his potential and become the stud that everyone is talking about? If you think Hughes can contribute this year (like the Yankees and most pundits do), then you make the trade. As noted above, you get a near .900 OPS from your 2nd baseman (which is exactly why we wanted to leave Weeks where he is), and you get near .900 OPS from you CF. Nice. The biggest bonus in this proposed deal is the $12 million we save in salary that will either a) pay for Suppan's deal or b) be used next year for Hall's extension or to acquire an OF power bat. Tough call, but it's one proposal for Sheets that I think is legit.
  18. Freddy Garcia matching Sheeter out for out. Let's start the jinx on ol Fred...
  19. 8 K's in 22 AB's for Rickie this year already. On pace for 200 http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  20. Dear Ned Yost: anytime you want to sit Brady Clark and insert Bill Hall as the everyday CF you just let us know. Thanks.
