  1. Ahh, the quintessential American Dreamhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif And nice work on the Pullman speech, EA, almost brought a tear to my eye.
  2. I'm going to watch the Patriot today. Man, what a patriotic movie.
  3. I got a cheap Tascam US-122 USB Audio interface for about a hundo-fifty that adds so much versatility without having to go directly into your soundcard (which, unless you have an amazing sound card, is not the way to go). It's definitely not the greatest thing out there, but it sure gets the job done for me. ($130 on ebay) I use a low-end XML vocal condenser mic that sounds a lot better than any cheapo thing I've found and I think it was part of a $150 pack with an instrument condenser. (But I just found it on e-bay for $39 + shipping) Maybe a little more than you're looking to spend, but it gives you some solid sound. EDIT: I used to use a really cheap program called MAGIX Audio that worked just fine, now I use Sony Vegas, which is nicer.
  4. Wow, in this day and age, is there really any way to not love Damien Miller?
  5. I didn't know schools gave out CD's now... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  6. If this is true than there is quite literally no situation in which Spurling has any value (except maybe a game where the Brewers are down by more than 5 fairly early on). As much as I love watching Villy pitch, there are reasons we have a range of different pitchers and if we can't go to Villy in a close game in the next couple days and have to use Spurling, I don't know how cool that is. I'm only nitpicking at this point, great game folks! EDIT: good point razzzzzor. i guess what i meant to say was "miller is awesome"
  7. Pittsburgh is truly the only NL Central team that I am afraid to face... and I know it's extremely unfounded. These parallels are fairly ridiculous, but they're bound to end sometime, otherwise we'll be caught in a vicious neverending loop that eventually results in a tear in the space-time continuum and the irreversible implosion of the universe. So this is a must-win game.
  8. Haha. Offense: A Defense: B Starters: AB Bullpen: AB Management: B Overall: B (And I don't believe in grade inflation!) EDIT: Ann Carrol: D
  9. I like how it makes mikevan look like a crazy person with the whole bathroom thing. way to go mikehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. I was out in Philly two summers ago and although this probably falls under the 'tourist website' category, you simply have to take down a philly cheese steak. I really enjoyed Citizen's Bank ballpark (although Fenway and Yankee Stadium might make it cower in comparison) Try to get tickets to Conan or Letterman for when you'll be in NYC. I got to see a taping of Letterman and it was actually really cool.
  11. I seem to recall the Mets going on a tear last year (or maybe it was the year before) during which they scored a certain number of runs in the first inning for a certain number of games in a row. Wow that was vague, sorry.
  12. They should make it a 400 game season, where the end of each season overlaps with the beginning of the next. 7 sure seems like plenty to me. If you want to get to the point of "making sure the best team wins" I would think you'd want to play like a 30 game series. Part of the excitement of baseball is that the best team doesn't always win. EDIT: blue for clarity.
  13. Yup Neenah has just been exploding. I lived there from '91 to '03 and then graduated. I always liked the city - great place to raise a family, but not the greatest place to be in your twenties...
  14. I grew up in Neenah, so I'll be there in spirit. Hopefully my spirit has a higher on base percentage than the rest of me does.
  15. happy birthday ueck, and happy all-star-game-clinching-day ben sheets.
  16. Cubs fans would be too oblivious about their team to organize a walk-out. Too bad for Pittsburgh, I've always kind liked them, or at least respected them (except for when they sweep the Brewers in 4 game series). Oh well. I'm sure all the fans paying for tickets and then leaving during the game will really send management a message... don't they do that for every Dodger game?
  17. hmm, the universe just kind of seemed to be converging into that home run. yo looked great. this is just a hot team matched up against another hot team. win some lose some. looking forward to sheets tomorrow.
  18. both mean you've either been consistently good for a very long time or you're a completely amazing hitter. i would be ecstatic with 1 major league hit, but to answer your question i'd rather have 3000 hits than 500 home runs. don't know why but something about the bigger number makes it seem more impressive to me. with my power stroke, i'm sure they'd go hand in hand, though http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  19. Yup, I honestly thought that was the way it was going to be from the beginning of the season, based on what Ned was telling us at the time (and I know having a regular/supernatural 3rd baseman helps solidify it) but better late than never, eh?
  20. I just so happened to be at MC Sports and Dicks on the West side a couple days ago and noticed that they had a few jersey tee's and some nice hats, but nothing earth-shattering
  21. Mahaha. So he thought the lady was dressed up as a scarecrow??
  22. I guess there are worse things for the media to blow out of proportion. Hopefully this tragedy causes young athletes to think twice about using performance enhancing drugs
  23. Yo Galdo is pitchng great and a great all around pitcherr with contrl this guy is a gonna be the future hopefullly
  24. Wow wouldn't that be nice. I really wouldn't mind continuing to see Vargas work his magic and then get something useful by trading him and watching his numbers come crashing back to earth on another team. I don't think this will happen, and I think it more likely has something to do with Rluz's idea, which would be kind of sad. But maybe we'll never know...
  25. I made my vote, citing WooGie's amazing in game threads, and the sweet hookup into Madison softball.
