  1. Patrick, the "mail-in" websites are mainly useful for college games like NCAA Football 2008 or March Madness where the players' real names aren't given. The rosters they send back have the full names, so that if you're playing with Wisconsin you can use Tyler Donovan instead of QB #12. Of course, you could do it yourself, but it would take an eternity to finish....well worth the $5.00 for somebody else to do it for me.
  2. I'm still hoping that someday they launch LakeMichiganWaterPolo.net, just so we can consolidate all of the water polo discussions that seem to arise. Check out buckyville.com. I like it because it's ezBoard format like BF.net, and you don't have to censor your posts too much.
  3. Sometimes, you have to admit, watching a guy repeatedly hit a ground ball to the second baseman can get a little frustrating.
  4. I'm gonna vent about the fact that my only good baseball caps are Brewers caps and I live in Chicago. It's not like I'm "afraid" to wear them now, but would rather just not subject myself to any stupid comments by SCrub fans over the next few weeks. I need to go to Lids.
  5. 1) I really hate that stupid "pointing to the dugout" routine that Jacque Jones does after an RBI, with that (poop) eating grin on his face. Makes me sick. 2) Could WGN have shown Bill Murray a few more times during the game today? Jesus.
  6. Ask and ye shall receive... I like that song. I don't think the video is all that funny either. Shouldn't this be in blue?
  7. I was watching Step by Step a couple months ago (no idea why) and at one point Frank complained to Carol about not being able to find his Brewers sweatshirt. Best. Episode. Ever.
  8. 20fry.....don't encourage your mother. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  9. Really, Ned? You couldn't let Suppan pitch to 1 more batter? He only threw 82 pitches! Ah, well. He's getting fired in a month anyway.
  10. I remember buying Sportflics baseball cards at Woolworth's! http://www.beckett.com/images/pgitems/726450101.jpg
  11. Just got my tickets for Badgers-UNLV today......needless to say, I'm brimming with enthusiasm for the upcoming season!
  12. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised with the pricing. We are 20-pack holders in the field bleachers (moved to loge bleachers sec. 235 for the playoffs). It's $20/game for the Division Series, $40/game for the NLCS, and $130/game for the World Series. You would be hard pressed to get a better deal - heck, you can't even get decent regular-season Bucks tickets for that much, and this is the freakin' NLCS! Also, the potential one-game tiebreaker would be our regular price of 10 bucks. If by some stroke of luck we advanced to the World Series, I have a feeling that we would sell off at least one of the games to recoup some of the money.
  13. Jesus, even Davey Nelson can't put up a professional appearance tonight http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  14. I seriously don't believe I've ever seen a worse play in my life than Griffey's 2-error assisted "home run" tonight. Of course, it would have helped to not have that stupid-ass shift on when a double play was possible.
  15. "Here lies YOST - died of cholera, 2006. Nobody noticed until the end of 2007, though."
  16. You could never convince me to carry one......something about carrying around a rag full of my own mucus all day doesn't thrill me.
  17. Just a quick question on this: can you update your roster in the middle of a franchise season? I know on PC Madden you can't do that. You have to load a roster at the beginning of the franchise and that is your roster that you play with the whole way. If you want to keep it up to date, you have to make the trades, signings, etc. yourself. If you try to use an updated roster in the middle of your franchise, you crash the game. Maybe on PS3, PS2, and XBox360 you can so I'm wondering if that has been fixed. I guess I don't understand why you would want the rosters to update within franchise mode. For instance, let's say that Chad Johnson goes out and breaks his leg in Week 1 of the real NFL season. "Virtual" Chad makes it through the first week of your Madden season without a scratch (doesn't matter if you are playing as Cincy or if they're CPU controlled). Do you really want to remove Chad from the game for the rest of the season because he got hurt in real life, even though he put up 100 yds and 2 td's (without so much as a broken fingernail) in your Madden season? Doesn't make sense.
  18. I noticed the same thing, using IE.
  19. Barney: [in Moe's Tavern] And I say, that England's greatest Prime Minister was Lord Palmerston! Wade Boggs: Pitt the Elder! Barney: Lord Palmerston! Wade Boggs: Pitt the Elder! Barney: Okay, you asked for it, Boggs! [punches him out] Moe: Yeah, that's showing him, Barn'! [disbelieving] Moe: Pitt the Elder... Barney: Lord Palmerston! [punches him out]
  20. I believe that I'm going to be sick.
  21. Read this book excerpt and tell me what you think. His teammates at Arizona State voted him off the team by a count of 22-2. The dirtbag coach was the only one who saved his collegiate career (and I'm sure Papa Bobby had something to do with it). Excerpt from "Love Me, Hate Me"
  22. I hate it when people make Bonds out to be some sort of martyr, pointing out that "he's only hated because of his personality". Ted Williams was a complete jerk, but people were able to overlook that. Why? Maybe it has something to do with the fact that he sacrificed his prime years as a ballplayer to fly fighter planes in WWII. (Oh yeah, Teddy also didn't try to conduct science experiments on himself until after he was dead.) http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif I'd like to see Barry do a couple of tours in Iraq.
  23. "Well if it isn't my old friend Mr. McGregg - with a leg for an arm and an arm for a leg!"
  24. Hawing, your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  25. Exactly right - this reminds me of an episode of "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" where this topic was covered (in a humorous light, of course). I think you guys made the right call. The part I don't understand is that the guy said that he hadn't posted on message boards in like 7 years because he was tired of all the flame wars, and then went and started a bunch here.
