  1. Anything is possible, but by my calculation, to finish at .260 he'll have to hit .300 for the remainder of the season without missing any time. That's a tall order for a career .255 hitter with injury history. I could see him hitting .260 for the rest of the year, which would put him at around .230 for the year if he doesn't miss much time. Weeks has a mammoth hole to dig out of. A month of hitting .300 will raise him to just .215-ish, two straight months of .300 hitting will only get him to .230-ish. Yikes.
  2. There is no way that ball started anywhere close to the strike zone. This. That pitch started 6 inches off the plate, was a full foot off the plate about 20 feet from home, and was 2 feet off the plate by the time it crossed. It was one of the most hilariously bad swings from a non-pitcher I've ever seen.
  3. Here's tonight's lineup, assuming Aaron is in... 01. LC Beeks 02. SS Schubert 03. LF Houle 04. RC Drick (Dnye) 05. RF nullbyte 06. PP Firenick (Packfan) 07. 2B Valpo 08. CC Jon 09. DH Radman 10. 1B Rightfieldcoder 11. 3B Aaron
  4. I'm in. I was thinking late evening after dinner.... I can bring another SNES and Griffey, if necessary. Even another TV. We'll figure it out after the game.
  5. Firenick/packfan tells me he's in. I've contacted Jon/Aaron and Schubert. EDIT: Schubert says he's in, Jon says he's in, still waiting for confirmation from Aaron.
  6. Derrick, I think I still owe you $4? I'll try to have that at tomorrow's game. Regarding overall player fees, I still need: - Beeks - Al - Jon - Aaron
  7. I've only been watching the last couple innings, but they have yet to go to commercial since the 8th. Just highlights and commentators between innings. What's that about?
  8. We said "rock bottom" two weeks ago after the Suppan debacle.
  9. FYI- Rec department has notified me that they will be doing our bat testing tonight.
  10. UPDATE: Nick tells me that Jon twisted his ankle and can't play tonight, so that would put us at 10 assuming everyone else shows, including his friend Aaron who we've yet to meet. Nick says Jon is lining up a sub to take his place, if that happens we're back to 11.
  11. Here's how the lineup is looking for tonight. I had to guess on a few positions since there's some new players I haven't seen yet. Same with the batting order, for now I'm just putting our new guys at the bottom and we'll re-adjust for future games. Some of the positioning might be game-time decisions.... 01. LC Beeks 02. SS Schubert 03. LF Houle 04. RC Drick (Dnye) 05. 1B nullbyte 06. PP Firenick (Packfan) 07. 2B Valpo 08. CC Jon 09. DH Radman 10. 3B? (RF?) Rightfieldcoder 11. RF? (3B?) Aaron Our biggest question mark is 3B. If either Rightfieldcoder or Aaron can man that spot, we're set with positions pretty similar to last year. If not, I can move over to 3B, and one of the new guys can play 2B or nullbyte can move to 2B with one of the new guys playing 1B. See y'all tonight!
  12. Just to remind you, I'm pretty sure it's a 3 year deal with an option for the 4th year. For some reason, my first inclination is to only count baseball months and ignore the off-season. So, 16 more baseball months, 28 actual calendar months. Even more depressing.
  13. Only 16 months remaining on that lovely Ramirez contract. He's just all kinds of terrible. Fun times, blowing mega millions on him....
  14. I didn't know the Mets' record was 8 games better than ours. Didn't expect that....
  15. Schubert told me that he is in. So did Drick, but I think he'll post here to make it official. Hopefully we hear from Firenick, Jon, his buddy, and RightFieldCoder soon. That would put us at 11. If more than one from that remaining list is out, we'll have to go to subs.
  16. Friday was not a good day for streaks in the world of wisconsin sports. The same day that Axford's longest active save streak ended, Steve Stricker's longest active streak for made cuts was broken by missing the cut at the Players Championship. Incredibly, both streaks were at 49.
  17. New game. My wife called that one. Atta boy, Corey. Ramirez ... your suspension ... continues.
  18. This is all on you, Ramirez ... You defensive bum. You don't belong here. Go back to Chicago, or somewhere else where losers play. Elderly, expensive crapmaster. Thanks aton.
  19. There goes the streak. Thanks a bunch Ramirez, you worthless ex-Cub dipwad. Get bent you franchise killer ... three years of pain ahead, awesome. Thanks DM!
  20. So, we have me, Drick, and nullbyte ... Houlie as a maybe. Let's lock down a couple more guys before we commit to this. I'll contact Schubert ... does Radman, Firenick, Jon, etc know? EDIT: Houle says he and Beeks are in. So that's: Houle, Beeks, nullbyte, Drick, and me. That's enough to make it official. Looks like there might be some rain, hopefully it moves out and things dry a bit by 11:00...
  21. Player Fees for this year come to $38.96 each, we'll round to $39. Breakdown: Share of team fee ($240/12) + share of game balls ($47.52/12) + player fee ($15) = $38.96 This does not include cost of t-shirt if you signed up for that in the other thread....
