  1. What a crappy throw by Weeks. Major leaguer has to throw better than that. From the grass. Shoulders square. Just awful.
  2. I emailed my contact at the Rec department. Hopefully it was a data entry error, 'cos if it was incorrectly reported by the ump that seems much more difficult to reconcile. EDIT: Got a response, "Thanks Matt. The night crew records the scores and they do mess up sometimes. I will change it." Not sure when we'll see the change -- I believe the standings on the website are only in PDF format, so that might only get published once a week?
  3. The "Taste Points" label on the necks of the Miller Lite bottles I bought yesterday -- here in Milwaukee -- displayed the point value as a red number 9 inside a blue circle. It couldn't have looked more like Cubs branding if they tried. I'm really really hoping that each point number is a different color and I just got unlucky with 9 ... otherwise, someone deserves to be fired. I know I won't be buying any more Miller Lite until I'm confident I won't be holding something resembling a Cubs jersey in my hand.
  4. Narveson totally looks like a grown up version of scotty smalls from the Sandlot. Dead ringer.
  5. Counsell has upped his average from .191 to .236 in just two games. OBP up to .345.
  6. In the words of Johnny Drama, "Victory!!!"
  7. No cancellations tonight according to the phone recording. I still might call the field after 5:00 just to be sure, if I learn otherwise I'll post here. Tonight's lineup: LC : Beeks LF : Houle 3B : Tyler RC : Drick SS : Schubert RF : Jon P : Firenick C : Radman 1B : Nullbyte 2B : Valpo
  8. Schubert is in, Porter is out ... only player we haven't heard from yet is Drick ... we're sitting at 10 with him, 9 without. Houlie, I'll post here if the game is cancelled.
  9. In. Yeah, schedule says Club Carnival: http://www.milwaukeerecre...chedules/mens/MS-385.pdf
  10. I thought it was interesting that Gomez was the first one out to celebrate with Morgan -- super pumped up and excited. I'd been wondering if there was any bad blood forming between those two as they compete for the same job. Apparently not....
  11. Final score, good guys 13 - bad guys 3? Great win!
  12. I'm expecting all 12 of us to be there, so a couple of us will need to do some DH-ing. Something along the lines of: LC : Beeks LF : Houle 3B/DH : Tyler RC : Drick SS : Schubert DH/2B : Porter RF/DH : Jon DH/RF : Al P : Firenick C : Radman 1B : Nullbyte 2B/DH/3B : Valpo
  13. Hmm, quite the shakeup. I think defense was a little out of the ordinary last week with the crappy conditions, I'd really like to see a few more games before any big changes. Are you tired of pitching?
  14. Definitely. Our shutdown defense was neutralized by the insane winds blowing out and we still managed to take it to extras and almost pull it out. That's a pretty good sign going forward....
  15. I think the Bucks should trade down to the very late second round and take LacDarius Dunn of Baylor. Whoas solvdd. Seriously, i'm really surprised mock drafts are showing him outside the first two rounds...
  16. Looks like everyone except Porter, Drick, and Tyler have checked in. Porter told me he's probably out, but I'm expecting Tyler and Drick will be there. Tentative lineup, essentially the same as last week, too soon to make any changes: LC : Beeks LF : Houle 3B : Tyler SS : Schubert RC : Drick 1B : Nullbyte 2B : Valpo P : Firenick C : Radman RF/C : Jon RF/C : Al
  17. In. Weather looks awful (high of 49 degrees, rainy, windy) so a rainout wouldn't be the worst thing in the world....
  18. My tentative lineup thoughts: LC : Beeks LF : Houle SS : Schubert RC : Drick 1B : Nullbyte 2B : Valpo P : Firenick C : Radman RF : Jon 3B : Porter
  19. Looks like we're at 12 guys now, so the fee structure goes down a little bit: (($240 team fee + $57.02 game balls) / 12 players) + $15 player fee = ~$39.75 Please make it a check for $39.75 or just an even $40 in cash.
  20. It looks like we finally got to 12 guys! A friend of mine and Schubert/Gomez, Tom Porter, is onboard for the season starting with game 1 this Thursday. 01. Radman 02. Drick 03. Nullbyte 04. Houlie 05. Beeks 06. Valpo 07. FireNick 08. Al 09. Schubert/Gomez 10. Tyler 11. Jon 12. Porter
  21. Definitely ask Porter, good call. Schubert/Gomez tells me that a friend of ours, Tom Porter, is "in" for Thursday, so we're sittin good at 10 now. (Porter is also on board for officially joining the team for the entire season, so I'll update the roster and fees threads!)
