  1. So this quote was from at least before yesterday's 10-1 game, right? Any chance it was from even before then? Even if it was just from before yesterday's game, it's not totally out of line to call us slumping when we're 4-2 coming out of the break with entirely low scoring, squeaker wins.
  2. My god, SCORE SOME FREAKIN RUNS!!!! 2 3 4 4 2 6 (when the other team scored 10) 2 4 6 3 3 2 Yeah, bring on the playoffs. We're clearly ready. Pathetic.
  3. Screen capture from Homer's intro tonight, if anyone's interested: http://www.w3si.org/images/mrink/princeallstar.jpg
  4. Sweet, we can talk politics on brewerfan.net now?
  5. YUM. I mean, umm, how awful ... or something.
  6. I guess if Jim, Dwight, and Stanley over-performed for half a year and all of their competition went lame, Michael Scott could probably win Manager of the half-Year, too.

  8. An honest question, what's the explanation for Dessens, Spurling, Aquino, and Cappellan all getting shots in our pen before Balfour? He look bad in spring training? Coming off an injury year? Our coaches needed more time to "see what he's got"? I know nothing's guaranteed, but if Balfour steps up as a big help to our bullpen, and if it's true that there's been reason to believe that all along, I'm going to be kindof upset that we've been running Dessens, Spurling, and Cappy2 out there this year, instead.
  9. Just a forewarning that this thread may get locked by a moderator in favor of this thread which seems similar.
  10. Yep, I'm pretty sure. Walk, ned meeting, homer, walk, single, Wise throws first warmup toss. Wise also was done throwing one batter later and Yost granted Cappy a shot at yet another batter.
  11. LOUD NOISES!!! Going 2 and 5 against Pitt and Washington is a disgusting way to end the first half. Luckily we back our way into a 4.5 game lead at the break thanks to our lame division. We can't keep it up, our luck will run out. And Ned still can't manage a bullpen...... EDIT: Corrected numbers.
  12. FYI, pretty sure this is already in the Article Tracker thread.
  13. The idea of taking one of the best defensive outfielders the Brewers have ever had and moving him to the infield is tough to imagine. Then again, we recently took a career infielder and moved him to centerfield to create one of the worst defenisve outfielders the Brewers have ever had, so maybe this organization is game for all kinds of crazy things! EDIT: Added quote.
  14. Hee-Seop Choi in 2005? Rafael Palmeiro in 2004?
  15. Izturis? Marmol? There aren't a lot of possibilities....
  16. First, a bump in case anyone else could tell me something about this box's front inputs. Second, Russ, when you said that the HDMI output looks bad, I think I'm experiencing the same thing now that I've gone to an HDMI cable. For me, HD channels look pretty good, but many of the SD channels are extremely grainy. (Worse than component.) Same for you? From doing some reading online, the workaround seems to be using s-video/component/composite for SD stations and HDMI for only the HD stations. What a pain in the butt, extra cables, blah, blah. Any other thoughts/feedback on this?

  18. Yeah, just like how they got swept in US Cellular Field before their current homestand. Oh wait.....
  19. I really have no idea what this means. It now takes TWO wins on our part just to get to where we would have been with ONE win today. Winning tomorrow is meaningless, it just gets things back to where they were at the start of play today. A win today is worth two tomorrow, which is why it's a KILLER to be an out away from a win today and lose it. Now they gotta win two games just to be someplace we were one out away from already being.
  20. Sweet, does that apply to everything? Can I shower my wife with gifts in January and then ignore her the other 11 months? Can I be super productive the first hour at work then slack off until closing time? I just don't see how anyone could be happy with 8 innings of failure. EIGHT STRAIGHT INNINGS OF FAILURE!!!!!!! Just 'cos you're great in a short span of time doesn't give you a free pass to suck for the other 90% of the time. If you score 5 in the first, you gotta tack on. It's only 5 runs, not 45 runs.
