  1. 2 run homer with the pitcher's spot due next? To lose the lead? You can't be serious. You suck, Davis.
  2. Is this true? Or is the game pre-empted for Packers stuff? What's the alternate station for Milwaukee area? EDIT: From the WTMJ web site: "Newsradio 620 WTMJ is your Green Bay Packers flagship. The Packers open the preseason tonight in San Diego. Packers Gameday starts at 6 this evening on Newsradio 620 WTMJ." ... but it doesn't say where that moves the Brewers to. GRRRR.
  3. I can live with whatever, but if there are no balls and no strikes, there's nothing to stop someone from waiting all day for their perfect pitch. Another thought, maybe the 3-2-1 rule is kept, but we expand the strikezone to be bigger than the official strikezone. We could lay down a suitable sized rug or something over the homeplate area and call anything that lands on it a strike.
  4. I'm in. I'll talk to a few friends, but assume just me. EDIT: We'll have to see who shows up each week, but if we get enough people to play a full game, maybe we'll need to rely on an "all-time pitcher"? Sometimes it's hard enough finding one person who can throw strikes, let alone two. Or maybe we could change the standard 3-2 count to like a 6-2 count just to cut down on free passes?
  5. This is great news. I felt bad about avoiding the Fall Ball topic, but I just couldn't commit to two nights a week like that. And honestly, I'll have just as much fun playing pickup games with you guys as I would've playing against strangers in a league. Maybe more fun. And no dues! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Great idea. I'm in. (btw, weren't we saying there'd be fees to use Sijan?)
  6. According to the radar, it looks like a line of storms popped up a little to the west of milwaukee.
  7. Sounds to me like he's frustrated. I wish more people sounded like him, sometimes.
  8. I will not be able to make it. Sorry guys.
  9. Ugh, and to make matters worse, it sounds like Utley just extended his hitting streak. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  10. Did anyone else feel like Cordero knew exactly what he was doing every step of the way that inning? Maybe a reliever really can be worth $5 million a year.
  11. What happened on the "triple" play? You guys make it sound like Gwynn screwed up, Uecker made it sound like Brady screwed up and cut in front of Gwynn.
  12. I may not be able to make it due to a prior engagement (never expected the season to still be going in August). I'll let you know as soon as I can.
  13. Cordero warming up in the pen? Let's not overwork the guy. We haven't seen Kolb yet this series, have we?
  14. Another good PH opportunity for Hart ignored.
  15. No kidding, cruiser. Maybe it's time we stop pretending to know everything around here. Was the Reds move a crippling trade for the franchise, or one of the most courageous, shrewd, and intelligent decisions of the decade? I have no clue anymore. All I know is, I'm valuing MLB bullpens way more than ever right now.
  16. Cool. I'll point out the fact that I was one of the few BF.netters who was irate at the laughably vulnerable bullpen Melvin had assembled coming into this season. It's fun to tbe right ... way better than having a winning team to support. But hey, "next year's the year" right? I hate this franchise.
  17. Really glad I support this team with my time and money. Pouring my heart into every game. Awesome.
  18. Hmph ... I guess Eveland's coming in. Either Ueck failed to mention that Eveland was also out there warming up with Kolb, or he mistook Eveland for Kolb.
  19. Why can't Turnbow finnish anyone off anymore? 0-2, and then meltdown....
  20. 7/19/82 for Gwynn Sr .... Really puts things into perspective to realize that the Brewers haven't made the playoffs since the year Tony Gwynn got his first major league hit. Yikes.
