  1. I'll echo what ILuvDaBush said. I'm unfamiliar with that part of the area (Suamico), but would agree that you definitely want to meet up with people far away from the stadium. The foot traffic and traffic slowdown near the stadium on gameday is unreal. The mall (and anywhere on Oneida street) is probably a bad idea for a meeting place. I live on the east side of GB so I usually park off of Holmgren Ave (Ashwaubenon village offices to be exact, closest parking to the stadium for $5). There are tons of places to park off of Holmgren, but you'll probably be coming in on the other side of the stadium. Unfortunately I'm not that familiar with parking spaces on the north and west sides of the stadium. Some of the businesses over there and homeowners might have spots available. Just make sure you take into consideration how congested the traffic will be when figuring out when you want to be there by. My wife and I usually get there about 3 hours before kickoff (we usually tailgate) and the Oneida exit off of 172 is sometimes backed up even that early. Wherever you park should probably take 15 minutes or so to get to the stadium on foot, another 10-15 to get through security and another 5-10 to find your seats. As far as leaving after the game and getting home... well, I hope you are extremely patient people. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  2. I just got a PS3 a couple of weeks ago and Madden 10 but I'm a bit disappointed with one feature in the franchise mode. While I like playing the games, I like building the actual team more. In older versions, I liked the option you had to jump to another team after the season. I could build up the Packers into an unstoppable force, then see what I could do with the hapless Raiders and so forth. Being stuck with one team year after year gets boring.
  3. This reminds of the hot-or-not Hilary Swank debate. Respect the game!
  4. I'll never forget the interview with him after the "retaliation for Braun" game in Pittsburgh where he kept intentionally calling one of the Pirate's assistant coaches by the wrong name. He also had some pretty intimidating walk-up music, although the bark was definitely worse than the bite with him. I'm trying to remember the good times, but that's all I could think of.
  5. Yeah, it seems like The Office is getting pretty predictable. The template is a) Michael is involved in some plot so unrealistic it isn't even funny anymore; b) Jim continues to destroy the appeal of his character prior to having higher aspirations (going back to when he interviewed for Jan's job) when he's much more funny as the care-free office prankster; c) Jim is accused of playing favorites with Pam; and d) Dwight tries to get Jim fired each and every week. It's as predictable as an episode of "Bewitched." Andy is probably the best part of the show right now, and the underuse of Stanley (his "has it been ten years already?" when the Scott's Tot's story was revealed was great) and the overuse of Ryan (I've never found him funny) are problems. What's the backstory on B.J. Novak (Ryan)? I know he's the executive producer, but less of him is more.
  6. This show has come a long way from Amy Poehler acting like the female Michael Scott. It became much funnier when the focus shifted away from her and started playing to the strengths of Tom, Ron, Andy, etc. Playing pool for the "rights" to Ann was pretty funny, and Andy's "I know that legally, Ann is mine... but it doesn't really seem that way." line was great. Plus I have a new avatar now!
  7. Ron is definitely my favorite on this show, but one of the promo's bugged me where they changed his line at the party. I thought his line in the promo, "Do you have any Mounds? All I see are Almond Joys, and while sometimes I feel like a nut, tonight, I do not." was hilarious. For the actual episode, they changed the ending to "Almonds give me the squirts." The doctors/nurses all coming to a Halloween party dressed as doctors/nurses was pretty funny.
  8. "Sir, would you please tell your wife to calm down?""That's a man." "....Really?"
  9. Wasn't there a quote by Melvin during September where he called the notion that they should be playing the young guys since they are out of contention "stupid?" If so, it's not just Macha who feels this way. I can sort of (but not entirely) understand wanting to play McGehee since he's a ROY candidate over Gamel, but I don't understand wanting to shield these guys from facing top-talent this year unless they wanted to keep their trade value intact, which is entirely possible.
  10. I'd be pretty surprised if Hardy is on the roster next year, and I highly doubt they will trust Escobar anywhere but SS given the failed experiment with him at 2B this year. It's more likely that Escobar is the full time SS, Counsell is the utility guy and Hardy is shipped out for pitching. EDIT: Also, you have three OF's playing new positions (Hart's limited playing time in CF notwithstanding), with one entirely new to the OF to go along with playing Escobar out of position. I guess I'd rather not mess with half of the defensive structure of the team.
  11. Well if the NY Post says it....Yeah, I'm pretty sure there's no love lost between ESPN and the NY Post after the whole posting pictures of Erin Andrews on their website thing. They'd love to report any dirt they had on ESPN.
  12. I'm confused. You make it sound like tipping the delivery guy is a new revelation. Hasn't this been common practice since its inception? I've never worked in food service, so I don't know.
  13. OT, but that is an excellent avatar.
  14. The part I enjoyed the most during the scene with an insubordinate Pam was Stanley in the background. He was pumping his fist, while smiling like I've never seen him before. Pretty hilarious. Also, the scene with Creed nearly coming to tears was classic. He doesn't even have to speak to have the funniest part of the show.
  15. I thought last night's episode was pretty solid, with the following revelation from Cam: "I collect antique fountain pens, I'm quite adept at Japanese flower arrangement 'Ikebana,' ... and I was a starting offensive lineman at the University of Illinois. Surprise!"
  16. This is true. I'd be willing to bet that all five secretly hate each other (or will at least say nasty things about the others when they are alone with you - if they trust that they can confide in you). Then, like Jim said, make an alliance with one or two. Don't try to be friends with all of them; they'll see right through it. But if a couple of them think you are on "their side" it will go a long ways for you. By the way, this works for houses dominated by either sex. I spent two years living in my fraternity's house and the same rules apply. I don't want to come off sounding sexist. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Jack Z probably won't stop smiling for a month. He probably thought it was a prank call. Who knows, maybe the Mariners will pursue Kendall and spread some of his good fortune with us.
  18. Since it seems be a topic of conversation in The Office thread, I think this show deserves its own.? Unlike many new comedies in recent years, this show definitely hasn't gotten off to a slow start.? If you've ever wondered what Michael Scott would be like if he were married with kids, that's basically Phil.? He's a "cool dad" who knows all the dance moves to High School Musical.? If you watched the last show, you'll appreciate this web-exclusive of Haley's boyfriend's music video of the song he wrote for her:
  19. So I'm assuming its a former child star? I have no idea which one, though.
  20. I was in St. Louis last weekend for the Packer game, and also took the tour. You must have had a different tour guide. We had an older guy (who was obsessed with Stan Musial, but that's his prerogative) but he had more fun ribbing the Cubs fans on the tour for giving them Lou Brock, which was totally cool with me. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour. A picture I took from the field: http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/41d15f4295eb2cff49b1f8a5177f101f5a7242d.jpg
  21. In the GB market: - We are also subjected to Richard Kessler about 4 times an hour. - Ever heard of "Ultra 90"? If you have, you know what I'm talking about. - PSA's telling you that "in today's current economic environment, crime is on the rise" and that if you see a crime in progress, you should report it. There is a guy in the background yelling "Snitches get stitches! Narc! Five-O!" Another one tells us that we should avoid suspicious looking groups walking our way, and not be afraid to cross the street to avoid a "pack robbery." Another tells us that we should avoid abandoned houses because they are safe-havens for drug dealers. Well, no crap. Who drives/walks by an abandoned house and thinks, "Hey, this looks like a cool place to kill some time! What could possibly go wrong?" As far as TV commercials go, has anyone else repeatedly seen the PSA against drunk driving where the guy keeps getting blood on his hands? Obviously it's a very serious issue, but I think it's a little over the top with the "You'll never be able to wash the blood from your hands."
  22. To me, the funniest line came when Michael was in Stanley's car and finds out that Stanley was going to see his mistress instead of a sales call. "Wait - do people often say that they are going on sales calls when really they aren't? That's not cool, man."
  23. Did they change the Wii version from last year? Those goofy arcade characters were definitely not in the '09 version.
  24. I have the '09 "All Play" version. It may have that little kid version as an option, but normal game play is the same (different controls, obviously). The graphics are on par with other Wii games, but no where close to the other game formats. I'm not getting it this year, because some of the features in franchise mode last year were not available for the Wii version (ability to relocate teams, etc). I'm much more interested in building a team in franchise mode than in actually playing the games, so that's just my opinion.
