  1. Man, either he was getting those directly from a doctor with a shady reputation, or he was going to different doctors and definitely getting them filled at different pharmacies. Where I work (Walgreens), I'm pretty sure all the "drug interaction" red flags would pop up if he tried to get that cocktail refilled at one time. As far as the "accidental overdose," someone had an excellent post earlier in this thread about how that happened to them. In this case, I think given his predisposition to addictions (heroin), once your body develops a tolerance, you need more to do the trick. If he was self-dosing, the whole thing would have been a guess on his part, so I can easily see how this could be accidental. He obviously should have sought help before it got to this point.
  2. Horace Smith and Daniel Wesson?
  3. Might I suggest a lobotomy? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  4. Wasn't there a brewerfan political forum hosted somewhere else? Is it still in existence? It was a pretty much anything goes forum, but there were only a few posts. I remember brewerjamie15 going on an entertaining rant about his disdain for Michael Jackson.
  5. I simply cannot believe the harsh judgment that is being passed on Ledger before we even know all the facts. The "suicide" theory is losing ground. From this link: The autopsy results were inconclusive, so all we'll get is speculation. I'm not going to get into how wrong comparing Benoit to Ledger is, it's pointless.
  6. I live 15 minutes from UWGB. It took me an hour to get there. Cars were in the ditch and acccidents happening all over I-43 and hwy. 41, mainly from people driving too fast on their way to work. The roads that look clear are covered in black ice. It's pretty awesome up here. The wind is causing drifts, which makes things even worse.
  7. There are many of your opinions that I disagree with in this thread, so I'll just point out where you have your facts wrong. I believe what you meant is the WWE Raw is the longest running cable program of all time. The Simpson, 60 Minutes, and Meet the Press have all been on much, much longer. I guess I'm not sure what you want done. You're really just griping about the situation and not putting forth any solutions. Tons of people in bands are drug users - what do you propose we do about it? Go after the record companies for not cracking down on them? Have the police rummage through all their tour buses? Besides, have you heard any of Aerosmith's stuff since they've been clean? It's awful.
  8. Taguchi is Japanese for "Clutch."
  9. Plus now the mountains on the bottle turn blue when it's cold! Which would really come in handy if you have extensive nerve damage to your hands, limiting your ability to feel temperatures. Doesn't Coors also make Keystone Light? Isn't that their version of say, Milwaukee's Best Light? Keystone light is the worst beer ever, in a am-I-drinking-bottled-water kind of way, not a Stroh's-esque who-urinated-in-my-beer kind of way. And if John Elway shows up in a Miller commercial, I am just going to lose it.
  10. I had been in AA for a few years with the same club, was promoted to AAA and was finally signed to that big MLB contract this summer. Whenever I express my admiration for how another club manages their assets, I get threatened to become designated for assignment. It's too bad I'll be under the control of that club for at least the next six years, but I may get a seven year itch.
  11. Subway Club on Wheat. Pepper Jack Cheese Lettuce, Onions, and Green Peppers No dressings. Footlong, of course. My wife is a vegetarian, who ironically despises vegetables. She gets a six-inch vegetarian, which amounts to a lettuce & pickle sandwich covered in mayo and black pepper. Ick.
  12. Don't Act Like You're Not Impressed The Pants Store The Toilet Store The Salvation Army Had A Sale I Don't Speak Spanish Miniature Buddha Covered In Hair Partly Sunny Today In The Middle East I'm Kind Of A Big Deal
  13. People probably said that about Hank Aaron, too.
  14. Yes! New signature material! Boy does he have it in for Waldo, Michael Jackson, and Bubbles, though.
  15. In his 16 seasons, Lofton has played for: Astros Indians (3 different stints) Braves White Sox Giants Cubs Pirates Yankees Phillies Dodgers Rangers Wow. 11 teams. He has played for a different team (sometimes 2) every year since 2002! Had he been able to stick to one or two teams his entire career and put up those same numbers, he'd have a better shot. I'd hate to be the guy engraving the plaque for his HOF bust.
  16. I don't believe it was the previous record holder, but here is a blurb from an online article about Cobb's history mentioning a 24-2 Tigers loss:
  17. Is this the same guy who started the "Cappy: The true ace of the staff" thread last year? Anywho, I'll wait until late September before declaring Jenkin's late year surge non-existent. So far, he's doing pretty good.
  18. It really has more to do with his youth than his "toughness." Younger pitchers just aren't used to pitching that many innings, and the risk of injury is greater the longer you let a young pitcher's inning pile up. But back on subject, I hope Cappy gets straightened out soon. Especially since Cappy would be a valuable trading chip this offseason and his value has slipped lately.
  19. I have an autographed copy of Ron Wolf's book that came out around 1998, "The Packer Way." Not sure if I'd be willing to part with it though, it's pretty cool.
  20. They actually won Superbowl XXXI, and lost Superbowl XXXII.
  21. You only get cap penalties if the player has a signing bonus, since it gets pro-rated to your cap. If you sign a free agent for the sole purpose of turning around and trading them for picks, don't give them any guaranteed money (no signing bonus). But you'll need much more cap room for this since it will be harder to sign the player. Also, the "cheat" to clear cap penalties I think you can only use once a year (I'm not sure on that) and it will lower your team's prestige rating making your club less attractive to free agents, so I'd recommend signing players to 1 year non-guaranteed deals if you planning on flipping them for picks immediately. I used to do this with the top players remaining in the free agency pool (Ty Law and Dan Neil, for example in Madden2006), then flip them for whatever picks I could.
  22. My dad uses them also, but he usually tore his in half since they're kind of bulky and he used them everyday on the farm. I carry one with me at work, but i rarely have a runny nose. I use it more so to wipe the seat from my brow and neck since I'm pretty active at work and have to deal with customers. Nobody wants to talk to a sweaty guy.
