  2. Apparently Frederickson has an absolutely sick breaking ball. Of his 7 K's on the night, 6 of them were caught looking at the bender. He also walked two, gave up two infield hits, and a run in four innings.
  3. Anyone who doesn't "get" soccer/football needs to watch the Netherlands. Easily the most fun team I've seen play this year (Arsenal is great too when they're really clicking). Would love to see them throw the game against Romania just to get rid of both Italy and France. Much respect to ESPN for the great coverage of all the games so far. Really think soccer would take off if a good chunk of the the country could consistantly see the best in the world duke it out rather than some MLS scrubs.
  4. The Dutch sure are fun to watch. No defense whatsoever, but man can they score. Whooping Italy at the moment 3-nil.
  5. Type in the name of any prospect in this years draft into Google. Check out which site is constantly in the top 3. It's not just brewerfans that are reading this material, and yes, it is some of / if not the best MLB draft coverage on the net.
  6. Escobar has 6 walks in the last 10 games... If he can start to walk consistantly, bye bye Hardy.
  7. If we do get Sheets on a 3 or 4 year deal, his and Suppan's contracts will end right about the time that Gallardo and others will need to get signed. Hopefully Gallardo will turn into a pitcher that deserves that big money (Parra too). With some big contracts up after the year, we should have enough money to pay Benny. If he stays healthy this year, I say give it to him.
  8. Everyone do yourselves a favor and check out Rodrigo Y Gabriela. They were in a Mexican metal band, decided they didn't want to do that anymore, moved to Ireland and became acoustic Gods. Best new guitar players to come around in a long, long time. It's impossible not to like these guys, I can't stress that enough. They cover old Metalica, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd (the audience provides the vocals by the way). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MPhVpIlc1vs Also, Coheed and Cambria are freaking awesome. Easily the best rock band at a free stage. Two years ago it was Kings of Leon and Wilco, last year was Wolfmother. Really pumped for Coheed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHYLHCguqmc&feature=related
  9. Braun has eight homers in the last eight games... Seven of them were solo shots. We need our 1 and 2 hitters to stop sucking, and if that happens Fielder will start come around too.
  10. Move Aguilar, Ryan, and Pena up a level. They're all kind of old for their leagues, and all have been lights out lately. Also, look out for Lorenzo Cain. He's turning it around this year, he's gonna blow up once he gets to AA.
  11. Futurama is better than both. Really doesn't get the credit that it deserves because the first few episodes weren't that good, but there are also a few episodes that just blow any other cartoon out of the water.
  12. That Brantley kid is pretty good... If he developes anything close to a little bit of power, he is gonna fly up not only the Power 50, but every top prospect list out there. A 19-9 BB/K ratio to go with a .350 BA is downright sick for a 20 year old in AA. edit: Make that a 21 year old. Mike's birthday is tomorrow
  13. I can really see Mark A. making a big splash and getting a Sheets deal done. Regardless of Yo going down or not, the point is that we're not going to have a quality rotation for a long time if Sheets walks (especially if we don't trade him). Hell, I'd rather let Prince go than Ben.
  14. We've got to extend Sheets, even if it means we ditch some of our young positional players when it's their time to get paid. It's a lot easier to find guys that can hit, then guys that have CY Young potential. Heck, we've already got two guys that look like the real deal down in Huntsville.
  15. I'm most excited for that rotation down in WV... Bryson, Tyson, Braddock, Jeffress, and I'm sure we'll add a college arm or two in the draft.
  16. I really don't see how Mat Gamel and Zach Braddock aren't going to be top 20 prospects by the end of the year. If Brantley can start hitting for even a little bit of power, he's gonna be up there too (assuming he plays a decent CF). This farm system will be back to where it was for the past few years after this draft. Braddock has a 1.24 ERA with 81 K's and a WHIP of .94 after 51 innings in A ball.
  17. Rickie gets a lot of crap around here for his interview skills. When he was on Bob and Brain's show during spring training, I didn't even know it was him. He was seriously one of the best sports interviews I've ever heard on a radio show. Maybe it's just the camera/interviewers that get to him?
  18. Combine both of your favorite toys and you get... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDPnFarSxnQ
  19. Look up "Eduardo de Silva" on youtube. Was watching an Arsenal soccer game this past weekend and saw the worst sports injury I've ever seen. Not even going to link it because of the chance of someone clicking on it. Imagine Geoff Jenkins with a bone sticking out about 5 inches (through the sock and shin guards).
  20. Rickie has always been huge. I remember taking a double take my first time seeing him and Prince in Beloit because Rickie looked just as thick as Prince. If he ever gets totally healthy, he's going to put up some gigantic power numbers with his strength and bat speed (which I think both of which are is equal or greater than Prince's). We've got some athletic freaks on this team.
  21. Weeks leading off with Kendall behind him = Easy 30 SB Hart hitting 5th with Cameron behind him = Easy 30 SB That's what I want the lineup to look like. Kendall and Cameron are OBP guys that take a lot of pitches, and can move runners over if they need to. This is all based on Kendall's career going back to normal after getting his eyes fixed. Lasik makes a huge difference just watching TV, imagine what he's been seeing these past few years.
  22. Nelly Furtado's first CD is amazing. Impossible not to sing along to. Fiona Apple (sp?) is another one.
  23. Oh, I wasn't slighting Braun. I still think he puts up around 30 this year. I just have a very good feeling that Weeks turns a corner after becoming healthy this year. Watching him and Prince in Beloit and again in AAA, Rickie impressed me more with his power. He never really put it all together in the bigs before getting hurt a few times. He could/should become a beast. This is Corey's Richie Sexson year. He's going to go nuts.
  24. Just a blind prediction, but I think both Weeks and Hart put up more homers than Braun this year.
