  1. Prince is the team leader, albeit a hot-head, so he basically enforced the law: you are part of the team, so sit down and be part of the team. If nothing else was accomplished, nobody else will be leaving the dugout early. I am sure every SP has a routine that they follow after they throw 90+ pitches -- they change unis, smoke a cig., get iced, soak their arm, etc.... Why is this a concern for Prince? Prince is not a trainer. There is no "law" requiring SPs to hang out on the bench. Even if Parra wants to chuck some coolers around at lockers, better he do that in the privacy of the clubhouse than in the dugout. To me, a team leader tells Manny that they are going to pick him up with their bats.
  2. Honestly, the only thing I take away from the video is that Manny wanted no part of the bulldog confronting him. I think Manny wanted no part of acting like a dipwad and fighting in the dugout. I was disappointed that the small southpaw didn't at least try to defend himself. I couldn't disagree more. I think Manny showed a lot of composure by not reentering the fray. If Parra jumps back in, someone is almost certain to get hurt in that dugout -- not to mention the whole incident ended rather quickly, if Manny had to be restrained as well as Prince, it may have taken minutes instead of seconds to resolve. I agree with Prince that the whole team was there to watch Parra give the game away he needs to stay and watch everyone else attempt to clean up his mess. I don't agree here either. Prince is not the manager of the team. I don't know what the SP's routines are after pitching, perhaps they see a trainer, soak their arm, stretch out, etc. Prince needs to worry about his ABs, and 1b, not where Parra is. And when he perceived Manny of challenging him, and swinging at him with a coat, which is tantamount to spitting, he flew off the rails a bit. I can't believe that Parra is the type of dude that would whip a jacket in someone's face or spit on them, I suspect Prince feels that way as well. Prince lost his cool for no good reason, simple as that. Parra needs to know that this is a pennant race and every start counts. 6 runs in 6 innings to the Reds in unacceptable. I don't think for a second that Parra needs Prince to point out that he pitched a less than stellar game. I'm sure most of you if you have lived with your good friends have had a blow up here and there and managed to still be friends10 minutes later. I have gone my entire adult life without getting physical with my friends, Parra and Prince don't need to be friends, they need to be working together to win ballgames. Hopefully he mans up, apologizes in front of the entire team, and takes a hurtin' in the wallet. Yeah, I'd rather see a fine than a suspension.
  3. Does even one of them really think someone is going to articulate exactly what happened and why and wherefore? The other way to look at this, is that the reporter gives Ned the ability and opportunity to clear the air.
  4. Fans don't just ditch a player when he's down. Fans follow a player and support them. We are Brewer fans, not necessarily Prince fans. Prince pushing around another Brewer is something no Brewer fan wants to see.
  5. I don't buy into the media sensationalism and outrage when athletes under intense pressure and scrutiny pop off from time to time. It's all fun and games until someone breaks a Manny Parra.
  6. I'm sure there's a scuffle behind closed doors at times that we're not privy to. Scuffling behind closed doors shows a little more maturity though -- "save it for the clubhouse".
  7. Get over it and stop acting like men being men is a big deal. Grown men do not push each when they are in disagreement. It's a big deal, whenever Manny Parra gets shoved into a wall, Milton Bradley blew out his knee in a similar situation. If they want to yell at each other, fine, whatever. Unless you are Olivia Newton John, getting physical is not cool. Yost's comments are moronic as well, if I heard a fight at the neighbor's I'd certainly see what is going on.
  8. How did he kill the buck? did he leave it in pitching to long in the 7th inning?
  9. Sadly, I'm taken. #1 -- Al's wife -- seriously, If she puts up with him, she must be remarkable http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif #2 -- Erin Andrews -- primarily for ticket hookup. #3 -- Portia de Rossi
  10. Zack (aka Mark-Paul Goselaar) is part of the cast on a new courtroom show on TNT, premiering later this month. He was on NYPD Blue I think -- he was on John from Cincy. Happy Days began with 3 Cunningham children, and soon after Chuck (the oldest) magically dissapeared. No plot to eliminate his character....just gone. There were 2 "Chucks", I always assumed the Fonz murdered Chuck so he could move into that room.

  12. I guess it doesn't matter because the bottom line is that men are weak, so I'm fine taking crazy. Men are not weak. They have to deal with women. It's called "weary". This begs the question: If it's in my nature to be crazy, how would one describe my hormonal rollercoaster when I'm PMSing? I will TLB answer this: I am sure he will be able to address it better than I ever could. No, I'm not crazy Of course you are. And I like parentheses and that would be my proof.
  13. However, he was still pretty good at getting on base. He had rough seasons in '83 and '86 (his final season), but 4 of his 6 seasons at 40+ were far from "bad". He did well in 1981 -- I will concede that -- but from 1982-1986, I think the kindest thing you could say about his offensive production (esp. for 1b) is "below average".
  14. That's a horrible thing to say
  15. I watched Jaws again last night because of this thread - I can't believe how small of a part she had, she was done and over with 5 minutes in to the movie. Very obscure. Anyone who lived in the era though remembers that clip.
  16. We're talking 200 hits for 20 straight years people....let that sink in for a moment. 200 hits for 20 consecutive seasons. I think you are overstating this a bit -- Rose only hit 200+ 10 times in his career.
  17. I hope it is. He has nothing left to prove in AAA. I agree, he is horrible. His defense is at worst a shade less than Cameron. I don't believe this to be close to accurate. He can bat leadoff and finally get Weeks out of that spot in the batting order. Weeks is a better leadoff option than TGJ. He's cheap, and another left handed bat in a righthanded dominant lineup. Brad Nelson.

  22. We BrewerFan.net ladies should get some sort of "crazy lady" assumption pass. I am not sure why. After all, it's not necessarily a bad thing, no one is saying all women are "criminally deranged" crazy, rather more of a "googley eye/all babies are cute" crazy. We were smart enough to come here, right? No one at any point here said anything about stupid/smart. I have other theories about that, but those would be for another day & thread. That said, I am certainly glad you gals are here. or is that an argument for our being crazy? It's really not about arguments, rather undeniable science.
