  1. I'll have to disagree with you FtJ. Of course. And tomorrow you will agree. It's because of the crazy. it seems that guys have become the "kitty-cat" of the man-woman relationship. And that is definitely a shade of crazy and not because a girl dumped you. This is exactly my theory -- The men that became "kitty-cats" were transformed into that by the raving lunacy of the women in their life. For the record, it's not the dumping that causes the issues -- it's the time up to the dumping. Enjoy single life.
  2. I have to defend and say that you all have your own "shade" of crazy, as well. Men? -- No we can be asses and dipwads, but we are not all crazy as a gender. Ask any objective scientist, and they will verify this. Now.... My theory over the years, based on my experience -- is that women are all born crazy, and men develop issues from the women in their lives. I'd just say relax - enjoy yourself. There are times when I talk to some of my single friends and I remember being young and dumb and crazy and know it's fun. Enjoy it while you can. There's nothing wrong with it. Agreed 100% --
  3. I was just giving you crap, you know. Oh, I know -- normally I just google for this sort of info, but some of the movie nerds on this board have all sorts of additional information about people you aren't going to weed out from IMGB or something like that.
  4. I don't think Braun is the best fielding LF, but I think given the way he is hitting, and the fact he isn't a total hack, he will have a good chance at a GG.
  5. How many other 2nd baseman would you rather have then Rickie Weeks for the next 2 months? Not caring about salary or long term commitments -- probably 15.
  6. If only there was some way to look that up... Right. However, I guess I was looking more for an opinion as if she had any "roles of note" things she would have been remembered for by our resident movie experts. I mean her character according to IMDB in Jaws was "Christine 'Chrissie' Watkins", but she will for ever be known as "Girl who gets yanked up and down like a human bobber, then gets found in the crab nets".
  7. All women are crazy, just some are less crazy then others. I agree that all women are crazy, the science behind it is undeniable -- I disagree that some are less crazy than others though -- I think crazy is like a color shade, red is red -- but perhaps you find one shade more agreeable than another. Any others? Anyone care to disagree with the above six? I disagree with all 6 for the most part. I got married young, and it worked out for me -- but I certainly see the wisdom in taking your time. I'd only worry about the thing you can address, which is you.
  8. Red Dawn was I think in fact the first -- Did this Backlinie girl do any other roles of note?
  9. Pete Rose after his age 28 season had 1327, putting Pujols 222 ahead of the pace. Rose was a bad player in his 40s -- plus he managed as well for ~2.5 seasons so he could control his ABs. True his chances at this point may only be 2%, but he must have the best chance of any player in the game today. You are probably right. Ichiro probably could have given Rose a run for his money -- he has ~3100 professional hits already.
  10. OMG! A full 2 year gestation period? Is it an elephant? I am a little fuzzy on the science, but the clone should be ready to pitch in 2009 -- this is why Lou is taking a lot of precautions with his personal health and hygiene (Aquafina e.g.)
  11. Smart move by ATL, they knew they couldnt, or wouldnt out bid teams like the Yankees or Angels for Teixeira anyway, and turned him into a Lyle Overbay type 1b, who is more than serviceable and they can have him for 3 more years at least. I agree, and it's probably a good move for LAA if it gives them the inside track to extend Teixeira.
  12. Lou Piniella is a much better manager than Yost. Agreed wholeheartedly -- I think the TB D-Ray experiment failed, but overall -- Lou has done pretty well wherever he has managed. I don't question that he has better control of his team and fans. It also appears that Lou is "with child" -- an incredible and amazing accomplishment as well, which probably will get him into the HOF. My theory is that in the Wrigley Field laboratories they successfully cloned Mark Prior with the arm durability of Fergie Jenkins and the hitting ability of Bill Madlock. Initially Ron Santo was designated to host the Super-Cub clone, but wiser minds prevailed, and Lou will give birth in the dugout during the 2009 spring training.
  13. Can I be your bench coach FTJ? No... That position would be filled immediately by Ned Yost. I would employ the "ask Ned, do the opposite" strategy. You'll need one to blame if it all goes wrong. Blame for what? -- We would go 130-32. Make it happen Doug.
  14. I am certain - this would keep conversations brief. http://images.cafepress.com/product/244417737v3_240x240_Front.jpg
  15. But I agree with the others that he has a lot of demons playing in his head, and that's holding him back http://images.yuku.com/image/jpeg/dd12523937759ff5e7319edb550bd9a8bcfebf6.jpg
  16. Mallards games are a lot of fun, even for the non-sporty types.
  17. We'd have to offer him $8M at a minimum I think.
  18. We'd have to offer him Arbys first.
  19. Of all people, FTJ, I would have expected you to get that I was joking. Whoops.... I totally whiffed on that -- my brain is still in the Estrada gear. I keep waiting for McClung to crap out, but he keeps holding his own....
  20. Can he platoon with Bush? I think the pitching platoon is silly at best. I would have rather seen Bush in the rotation and Seth upgrading Mota/Riske in our BP. I agree Bush has been pitching better -- and I think Bush is a much better pitcher than Seth. I think though, you could throw Seth in the BP, and if Suppan faltered you could put him back in the rotation. I'd rather have seen Seth getting Mota's inning last night.
  21. Put it this way... I'd see no problem with signing Kendall to a four-year extension, provided it doesn't break the bank (say $9 million over four years). I wouldn't sign Kendall. As pointed out already, Kendall is going to get ~$4.5M next year -- and he deserves it -- however his offensive production is below average and while I am entirely grateful he is our catcher over Estrada -- there are probably going to be better options in 2010. If Kendall wants to be a backup for a couple of years -- I am all for that. To me, it is a no-brainer, Seth McClung is our unsung hero. He has pitched well (relatively speaking) in every place that the Brewers have put him in, bullpen or rotation. He definitely allowed the Brewers to tread water and stepped up his game. If the Brewers maintain 1st place and they start getting more national attention, I suspect Seth's effort will be overlooked for the most part.
  22. wow -- they made you cower.
  23. You've cemented yourself in BF.net folklore. We'll all look back and laugh someday the great Cubs collapse of aught-8, and we'll fondly recall that day our friend Bullox went over there to NSBB, bumped up a snarky anti-Brewers slam, and turned the firehose on them! Maybe he should get the title of "That 1 post & banned Guy"
