  1. This is by far the worst team in the majors right now.
  2. Between ten other guys, LaPorta still has 50% of the vote right now. 10-19 with 3 HR's...what a week.
  3. Anything with UV is a pretty much guaranteed hangover...how ya feelin'?
  4. My advice: Sleep! Even those 20 minute power naps can be gold. Here is a CNN article from a few years ago that talks about the importance of sleep in regard to creativity, problem solving, and academic performance. The findings were actually rather substantial.
  5. Looks like we lucked out weather-wise...South Florida should be clear this week.
  6. Or he's the most placid person to ever walk this earth. Nope. Sarcasm. Forgot the blue. But come on, Devil Rays sounded so much better.
  7. I think the Devil Rays changing to the Rays was the worst thing to happen to sports in the past 25 years.
  8. I hate Yost. I don't care what he had to do with this. I don't care. Get him out of Milwaukee. I'm sick of seeing his face in the dugout. Sorry for the rant...just had to get that off my chest.
  9. Get Villy out! He's 5 or 6 at best...let's face it.
  10. Now that the Brewers have established themselves as totally awesome, this game will be fun.
  11. Based on Sveum's history in Boston (the windmill...ha!), it puts some of his moves into a greater context. I know he's kind of a Brewers hero because of that Easter Sunday game, but I've always found Dale to be kind of a jerk. In the beanball war last September vs. the Cards, Sveum was on the top step of the dugout cussing the umps out like none other. It was a pretty pathetic display...there's no wonder the umps were so anti-Brewers last year. I still think sending Prince was a bad move based on the one replay I saw, but I guess the blame can't be put on Dale from the send in the 9th. That was all Rickie.
  12. It just beats out the game from both of our sigs. Best win in ages, it seems. Holy crap. How is the suicide watch at NSBB? I think we just served notice.
  13. Congrats! I'm still waiting for one of those... My main complaint so far with the game is on plays at first where the pitcher needs to cover. He's usually way too slow to get over. Pretty much any slow chopper to first by a guy with decent speed is a hit, and you can forget about the 3-6-1 double plays. Overall though, good game. A good improvment over '07, imo.
  14. For the most part I agree with Series. I was at the game on Saturday with a group of 24 (all in one row), and a friend down on the other end sent me a text that said "The wave's coming your way in the top of the 8th." It was a one-run game at the time. Needless to say he got a lot of crap from me afterwards. I don't hate the thing as much as some people do, though. UW Football games (with changing speeds and directions) are a good example of a well-executed wave (granted it doesn't start while we're on offense or in other key situations). Also, from the sound of it, the "slow wave" at MP last year during the Indians-Angels series was the single most amazing thing either Travis Hafner or Joe Borowski ever saw. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  15. I would say that in general the bleachers are tamer on Sunday's, but there is considerable variation depending on where exactly you sit. Example: Last year for the KC series we were in RF bleachers on Saturday Night and LF Sunday Afternoon. On Saturday the fans were pretty knowledgable and into the game, despite the imbibing. Sunday, however, we baked in the sun for 4 hours and ended up watching Spurling (or was it Crapellan...) walk in the winning run with the bases loaded in extras. Needlelss to say the fans were unhappy and a few fights almost broke out over defensive positioning, Ned's resemblance to a certain farm animal, etc. Not fun. Anyway, I guess Im just trying to explain that the difference between day / night, terrace / field is noticable, but not enormous.
  16. You know who else is amazing in MVP '05? Victor Santos. No lie...at least for me. His slider is killer. Anyway, 0.59 ERA? Wowzie.
  17. I was thinking the same thing. However that also made me think of this. I hope the similarities end with last night...
  18. Nice to see that Prince OPS up to .850.
  19. Ned gets the thumbs up for the time being. Prince, Stetter, and Turnbow, on the other hand, get high fives.
  20. Sign of a great announcer. Sign of a great hitter? Being Prince Fielder. More runs needed!
  21. I actually thought that was pretty funny, in an "oops, didn't know that guy was going to swear" kind of way.
  22. I like this. With the state of the BP as it is, Bushy is in a unique position tonight. He's on a long leash and can relax. I feel like he'll pitch a good game. Brewers win 4-3. 3 solo homers by Jenks. 4 solo homers by Fielder. 7 strong by Bush: 21K. 3 hits. All HR. Guaranteed.
  23. Gagne was actually warming up last night...What's disturbing about this is that Ned was willing (or at least ready) to use him 5 days in a row. You can't have your injury prone 10 million dollar man put so much stress on his arm this early (or ever, really). Let's also consider that it's been almost a week since Gagne got a day off. I'm not saying he's perfect when fresh, but I doubt Gagne was anywhere close to rested today. He's needed time off since the Saturday win, and he hasn't been getting it. (pared back long quote --1992)
  24. Yost gets (and often deserves) a lot of crap around here (from me, too), but he should get some credit for putting that lineup out there. That's twice in this young season that Nedly has made the kind of change in the everyday lineup that I think he's usually too stubborn for. (Other one was Braun <---> Fielder). Could this be due in part to Simba? In other news, Wow. Braun's OBP is now lower than his average after that sac fly yesterday. The kid's gotta stop swinging at everything.
  25. The Verlander no-hitter. I was just thinking about that one today. Even in the no-no, Billy didn't make an out. Then the next day when the offense was still completely stagnant, he hit that huge home run. Then we go into the Twins series and score a bunch of runs, and that run continued for a few weeks. I remember many on here remarked that it would be great to get no-hit from time to time if that was the result.
