  1. I would put Camp Randall, and the UW Football Gameday experience in general, ahead of Miller Park. Worst sports moments? In no particular order... -4th and 26 -Sudden death of Reggie White -MP Crane Accident (If that counts as sports...) -1982 World Series game 7 -2001 Eastern Conference Finals Game 7 -UW Football 63-32 loss vs. Indiana -The end of the "Bounce Pass" game vs. Illinois -Super Bowl XXXII -Whenever Brett Favre Retires I am sure I am missing some pretty obvious ones...Does the Braves moving to Atlanta count?
  2. Wow guru, I certainly envy you....Is Shea Stadium really that bad? Welcome to the site, by the way!
  3. I'm starting to realize that there might be a pretty ridiculous number of Brewer fans at Fenway...I will most likely be going as well.
  4. No bratwurst in Boston, Fenway Franks and rather expensive standard fare in the ballpark. Buy your sausage sandwich outside the park. And you guys will be blown away by the lack of freedom you have in bringing in food and/or containers of food and drink of any kind. It ain't gonna happen... I was in Massachusetts last spring visiting a friend. Some of the people we stayed with tried to make us Wisconsinites feel welcome and cooked us some brats. From what I understand, a pack of Johnsonvilles shouldn't be too hard to find. Maybe I'm wrong...
  5. A few bottles of Capital Winter Skal and several more of High Life don't make me any less worried about this Sunday...I wanna go to the Super Bowl!
  6. Rob Riggle...I used to like you, and now you are shilling for Budweiser with that lame "dark beer hides imperfections" bit. For shame...
  7. That bugs me too, mainly because it shows that too many people still think that global warming is simply a term for "occasionally warm when it's not supposed to be." It's way more / different than that. The main reason I actually came to this thread was to complain about the coverage of the NC game on FOX tonight. I know FOX isn't usually top-notch, but tonight was just atrocious. I don't really feel like going in to details. It was just bad all around.
  8. I didn't notice that...and now I will. Yep, there it is..."Will Blackmon, a second year player out of BC."
  9. One thing to remember: Drinking lots of beer and then drinking lots of water to avoid a hangover can be very dangerous if that's all you do. Be sure to eat something salty so that your sodium levels don't get too low. If they do, what happens is to the effect of your brain expanding so that it is too much for your skull...something potentially fatal. It's rare, but it does occasionally happen.
  10. I'm bothered when people have to supplement the phrase "I disagree" with "but you are entitled to your own opinion." Gee, thanks for giving me that right...
  11. Guys, I think bb4l has gone insane...much like Ted Lilly in his avatar. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  12. I think any Bo Ryan coached team has a great shot at 20 wins. Flowers, Krabby, Butch, Landry...solid, solid, players. Get in the tourney and everything from there is up for grabs.
  13. I completely agree. That's how I was back in '04...Nowadays? they've won their World Series, have a huge payroll, and thus will be competitive for a long long time. I think most fan bases would be more than happy to be in that situation. So why all the melodrama? Oh well, go Rox...
  14. I absolutely cannot stand the Red Sox and most of their "long-suffering" fans... Kenny Lofton was safe by a mile...total garbage...and now with 2 on, 1 out...that bad call is even bigger.
  15. I think I'd be wary about bringing back baseball to UW if it was up to me...There was an article last sping in one of the student papers about how Baseball here would be ideal...Friday night, sunny, tailgate in Lot 76, chill in the bleachers. I agree that would be awesome, and that it would work...for the first few years. After the novelty of baseball at UW wears off, how can you guarantee that it would still be profitable? How do we know that we would sell as many tickets as we do for FB, BBall, and Hockey? As a fan, I would still love to see it though.
  16. If you thought "Hambone" was "hip"...well, there ya go! I love Bo...
  17. So that promotional announcement was for the anniversary celebration? I was hoping it would be something like, "in 2007, we're gonna try to get the student section to actually cheer for a change." Seriously, Kohl Center feels like a mausoleum for non-important games. At least they still sellout consistently. The Badgers play @ UW-M in December...I wonder what the crowd split will be like as far as fans goes. I will definitely be heading out there for that one. Go Badgers!
  18. A lot of you probably knew this, but I just learned that the character "Ryan Howard" was named after the star of the Scranton Minor League Baseball team, which is an affiliate of the Phillies...I wonder where that player is now...hmm.
  19. The phrase "The Old Tony Romo" and Mike McCarthy are bugging me.
  20. "...And FYI, I eventually aced 2nd grade and I was the biggest kid in class." It's things like that that make you wonder why he a) hasn't been fired for whatever reason yet, and b) how he got the job in the first place. Oh well...it isn't real. Great TV. I've always loved Toby. My favorite moment of his was when he bought Angela the saxophone playing babies picture for Secret Santa...and they had a shot of him holding the picture. The look in his eyes is priceless. Anybody know what I'm referencing? I also love how Michael hates him because he always vetoes his ridiculous ideas. "Toby...convicted rapist." Haha.
  21. Cubs lose! As a sidenote...I think Valverde might just be my least favorite player if he played for the Cubs...He would annoy me for the same reasons the Little Z does.
  22. Yeah the dude held up the sign in the 1st inning without the light, but once Valverde got on the mound...he lit it up...It had a Cubs logo on it, I believe.
  23. Hahahaha...Idiot Cubs fan with the light up sign...What is he thinking?!
  24. A lot of Midwesterners actually move to Arizona when they retire...Just check out a Cardinals game when the Packers are in town.
  25. If the Brewers are at Fenway before my summer job starts, I'm there.
