  1. Ben in the coffin makes the most sense, but considering the "neighborhood" they set the funeral, it could be Walt. I think the setting would lead me to believe it was Walt or even is dad.
  2. What shocked me was the fact that they are sueing the guy because his car stalled. That is way out there, and then to go after the tow company because he was out there for 15 minutes? Guess they never had to get service at the side of the road. I feel sorry for the lost of Josh, but this guy is way out of line. His son made his choices and no one else should be paying his family for his mistake. Wonder if some how had a conversation with Ben Hendrickson's dad about what to do?
  3. Mike Cameron could be a guy out there is the Padres are not in the mix for the West division title. Reggie Sanders will be out there from the Royals also, his name always seems to come up during the trade deadline.
  4. Saito just seems like an average closer to me. What? 24 straight saves 2006--2.07 ERA/.091 WHIP/.177 BAA 2007--1.71 ERA/.081 WHIP/.195 BAA Since he isn't a fireballer that blows people away he doesn't get a lot of credit. Saves are all about oppurtunity, just take a look at Riveria in New York this year. As for Braxton, they aren't trading him for a 5th starter,a spare part outfielder, and an A ball pitcher even as talented as Inman is. Reality just checked in to the motel. Could not agree with you anymore, no way would any team give up a top end guy for so little.
  5. sure he's our #2 pitching prospect, but how much value could an A-ball prospect really have to other teams? aren't most always looking for the AAA- or AAAA-type pitcher? I'd almost wonder if ZJ might have more value in a trade then Inman at least right now unless Inman gets promoted and succeeds pretty shortly. Inman has a lot more value as he more of an upside. Zack Jack looks like has already topped out and looks at best to be #4 starter. I'm all for trading Zack Jack but he don't see him having a lot of value.
  6. While you might be right about moving Jenkins I'd only do it after we had already acquired an allstar type outfield bat and then I'd move him to the AL. The two most likely Brewers to be traded are Hart and Mench. Only Mench because we want to. Hart because that is likely what it would take to get the all star bat. What young pitcher are you going to add in with Hart to get an All Star type OFer?? Inman and Hart might get us a big name. Burrell would be a nice addition, but like someone said that would hurt in the outfield even if Jenks would get moved back to RF with Burrell in LF.
  7. I'd much rather see Zach Jack go, though I'm not exactly sure how much value he'd have. Jackson + Mench for Weathers/Other reliever? Zach Jack has really leveled out over the last year. He has great rise into the upper levels, but now he doesn't have the great stuff to be dominating. Brewers will have to add something with him to get a dependable guy. EDIT: I'm not the biggest fan of Weathers though, he's not what he once was. Weathers is durable and knows how to get outs so, I don't see any issue adding him to the pen.
  8. Based on what? Recent performance? Gwynn has out hit and out fielded Gross as of late. Yost is smart going with the hot hand. Until Gwynn starts to suck it up people need to give him some credit. Fact that this park is a hitters park and with one swing of the bat Gross can change the game in the Brewers favor. Gwynn isn't going to do that for you and defense in this small park is over rates. If this game was at Washington or Colorado I would agree with you.
  9. Gwynn lovers get to be happy tonight as the toothpick swinger gets come up and see if he can keep up his hot bat. Gross should be in the game tonight with out any question.
  10. That's why i would go after weathers- especially if the reds tell him thanks but we're going to go with Guyardo as our closer now. the reds signed hermanson in the off season to a minor league deal and announced they thought he would be their closer. he didn't make it out of Spring training. Going after Weathers makes a lot more sense and is closer to reality than this Putz idea that is floating around here. Weathers will not come for a bag of balls though. Inman is a guy I could see us moving to get some bullpen help. When you have a chance to make a deep run, you move some of the future to better your chances. Like it or not he could be the teams best chip at the trading deadline.
  11. For what reason should the Brewers be rushing him back into the AAA lineup if he is not at 100%. People are acting like he needs to be playing everyday. Let the guy heal and then go back to raking the ball. If there was any worries they would have had the Brewer medical staff take a look at him.
  12. I'd definitely do that to get Cabrera. dude's a bona fide superstar, and Braun at his max potential would be what Miggy already is. to add a sure-thing superstar to a lineup of young guys just coming into their own would make our order a powerhouse Going to take Braun and Yo for the Marlins to part with Miggy. Right now they are not going to take a Mench or T-Bow for one of the top players in the game.
  13. I'd do Cain or Rincon for Mench and a lower prospect. Every team would like to get rid of trash to get solid players. This just doesn't happen unless it is a salary dump. Twins will get better value at the trade deadline.
  14. Oh geez, lol!!! Prince had one play only, and that was FIRST BASE! Had he taken the out the Brewers would still be down a run. There was no way a double-play would have been turned on the ground ball that was hit to him. That was a double play ball all the way. Watch the replay and the pitcher over half way to first base and would have been there to take the throw from second. All Prince had to do was turn and fire to second to get things started and out of the innning.
  15. Seattle is going to want some talent for Putz. I have not scene in any of the trade scenarios in this thread that have us giving up anything. Although it would be nice you are not just going to steal another teams closer.
  16. Gross again? Is it because Gwynn can't play right field or something? I think Tony has earned himself another start. Especially since Gross started last night and almost cost us the game. I don't think Gwynn's arm would play in RF. Gross is a better option at this point but Gwynn is closing the gap a little so far when it comes to the plate.
  17. While it may look good on paper to move him while he's hot, it would be a pretty classless move by Melvin and the organization to dump our longest tenured player, who has been our best player in past years, in order to "improve" the team. I agree that right now we don't trade Jenks unless we can improve the team in a big way. Don't agree with the classless statement if he is traded. Melvin feels he can improve the team, with including Jenks in the trade he is going to do it. Tebure and being with the team during the lean years doesn't give you any more right to not be moved than a top prospect coming up. IMO Jenks plays all year in Milwaukee as long as team is in the race and he will be getting headlines if they make the playoffs as he was here for so long.
  18. Cept Wise has proven that he cannot pitch well in back to back days, and certainly not 3 days in a row. I don't want the Brewers to be caught down the stretch or in the playoffs without someone in addition to Wise. He can go two days in a row. During the playoffs this is not a problem since there is days off in between games. Stretch run might be tight at the end of the season, but with a 40 man rsoter the last month Spurling, Capellan, Aquino and other guys can go out and eat up innings Having said that, if they do have "wiggle room", I prefer they use a huge chunk of that to sign Cordero beyond this year, if possible Totally agree would love to see Coco signed for a couple years to stay a Brewer.
  19. gross and rottino would play average to above average in LF for less than a million... They would top out as an averag LF unless Gross has a huge year. When did Vinny become a prospect the Brewers could count on? During last night games ESPN announcers stated that Mark A is not opposed to adding salary if this team is in the playoff hunt. It was also mentioned that they have some wiggle room under the budget they have set up. Could use a backup corner guy with some pop. 7th inning is Matt Wise's until he proves he can not handle the role.
  20. Are Hart and Capellan a fair value for Chad Cordero? I think Hart could become a star in Washington, Capellan could Close for Washington. Not even fair to close in value. Cordero is a proven closer. Nats are not going to take on Hart and Capellan. Both prospects have yet to prove anything above AAA.
  21. Younger major league ready prospects, to help this team move upward.
  22. Had to bunt him to second with Hardy hitting like he has been.
  23. Aquino for a second inning after going three days in a row makes little sense. Let him hit anyways. Why waste the light stick with no one on??
  24. With two outs and no one on why send him up. He can not hit the bomb to win the game. Better used with someone or as a baserunner IMO
  25. No No should have let Aquino hit for himself.
