  1. Defense lets down the pitcher again and now the team has to come from behind. At least they did not let this blow up and cause a big rally to put them in a big hole.
  2. Right now Branyan has to get a week or two of playing time then we can see if Hall gets his fulltime job back.
  3. Be so nice to see the crew come up big today and set a new tone for the rest of the season. Ned keep the pitcher in the nine spot.
  4. I will admit this guy would be a little out ther but Aaron Harang would be a good fit for the Brewers, Reds are in rebuilding mode and need to fill holes.Issue is you are helping a team in the division that could be your rival for the pennant each year.
  5. Berman is an icon at ESPN, he was there when it was just getting off the ground and helped bring it to its huge status it now has. Berman and Bob Ley are the only two old school ESPN guys around. Tom Mees is in a better place than all of us or he would also still be there. Berman did sign a huge contract a ways back but he has also been less in front of the camera and doing more behind the scenes in recent years. ESPN as a whole has seem to lost touch with the core fanbase that got them to a high level. They have more feature and fluff pieces in a sportcenter than highlights or inside information. Not sure what lead to the change but they have steered a lot of core fans away from sportcenter, ESPN News is place to get highlights and insight now. Personally a little Berman I can deal with but he is not a guy that can be taken night after night right now. Julio "wont you take me on a sea" Cruz
  6. Bush had some luck last night and maybe he was due for some after the start he has had. For now he keeps getting to start games for this team, but not sure that it is a big deal as McClung is also a starter for the team.
  7. Glad the kid stayed in state. His grades had to be a big concern on you ever was looking at him.
  8. JB12 Hall has been all or nothing this year. Too many times he has walked up to the plate saw 3 pitches and went back to eh bench with a K. Right now he is struggling to hit right hander so the team should try something new. Comparing Hardy or Weeks a weak excuse to not bench Hall. Hardy's defensive play allows for him to have lower hitting skills. Not that Hardy and Weeks also need to step up their games. Hall gets too much love because of his late game homeruns that end up on ESPN, while his 2-3 ks in the game get over looked.
  9. Branyan should be getting a shot against right handed pitching. He cant do any worse than what Hall has done to this point. Hall seems to have really regressed over the last year. His approach at the plate is horrible and he needs to sit down and figure out how to get the swing back.
  10. I would say if they are out of it, Sheets can net them 2 top prospects, one would have to be a SP. Team gave up 3 arms for Linebrink and none of those 3 have yet to make an impact for the Padres.Going rate will depend who thinks they are still in the race.
  11. Fielder Weeks Hardy Hall I could see Hall being moved out of town if his play doesn't get better, but his contract is a good deal right now for the team. Hall would be a poor SS for the long haul. He is not a great defensive player and he would have to hit a lot more to make up for his lack of defense. IMO Escobar is going to be a Ozzie Smith type guy and I dont think this will cut it on todays game. Gamel I think will end up at 1B and Laporte in RF when all is said and done.
  12. Melvin is trying to fix this team that has had only a few things go right with the pitching. I dont understand what some people want him to do. Last year he went out and traded for a good setup man and all people did was complain about what he gave up. Now he is tryig a different avenue and still people are not happy. Not every player on the team can be an all star.
  13. Prince isn't going anywhere at this points. Blanton would be a target as he will eat up innings and put the team in a lot more games for wins. Gamel at 3B made me laugh, he needs to make a lunar jump to be playing 3B next year for the Brewers. I think he ends up at 1B and LaPorte ends up in RF to start their careers in Brew town.
  14. For what its worth Dave Bush was a good AA pitcher too and we see where that has lead. Worth a lot because the next two jumps are tough and will show who has it or doesn't. Zack Jack was all world till he got to the upper levels and simply was not the same pitcher. Inman would not be a guy they call up this year, this regime has shown that they will not rush players to the bigs.
  15. Bush has to be moved out of the rotation. If you take out CV for poor performance you have to treat Bush the same way. Weaver has to be the next guy in line. So is not killing him in AAA, but maybe being up in the bigs will realize what he is missing and give the team some quality outings. There is not much out down on the farm to help and McClung starting is a joke IMO. Vargas sure would look good on the staff right now, but the anti-Vargas gang could not have gotten him out of town sooner.
  16. Byrd is Suppan-Lite, no way do I trade a player to get him. His team around him has made him better than what he is.
  17. 1. Cito Gaston how he has never been given another shot is amazing. 2 Don Baylor 3. Buck Showalter
  18. Had to edit my post missed a word that was pretty important.
  19. What if the Brewers felt that way a couple years ago with Fielder, Braun Gallardo, etc? Do guys like Clayton Kershaw and Jay Bruce not have value? Inman is not even in the class of the guys mentioned here. There are a lot of guys like Inman out there. He has made it easy through the lower levels. Now he has the hard levels to get through. Zack Jack was suppose to be this great pitcher and all of sudden he seems to be proving he is a AAAA type player. If Linebrink would have stopped the bleeding and the team made the playoffs this trade would not get bashed so much. IMO Inman will not be a #4 for starter in the majors. He looks more like a spot starter/long man.
  20. Inman has yet to do anything in the majors. When he shows something at the major league level than someone can say this was a poor trade. He has proven his craft only against AA hitters, he has yet to even approach AAA hitters. Zach Jack was awesome till he reached the high levels and then is stuff proved to be very average. Brewers had to pay something to try and help out a worn out bullpen. They gave up 3 arms that so far have not proven a thing at the big league level.
  21. From what I read he worked with his dad, but Simmons found a flaw in his throwing early in spring and helped change it.
  22. Why aren't you calling him Can't Go Gallardo yet? It is only one injury not the numerous ones Sheets has had
  23. Escobar is a much weaker bat than Hardy I dont get all the love for him taking over at SS. This kid is not the second coming of Ozzie Smith. Escobar needs to be moved in a trade before the rest of the majors figures out he cannot hit.
  24. I would skip paying Brittle Ben and go out and get a new top end guy for the staff that can go with Yo.
  25. This is such old school thinking and a reason that a lot of players get upset.Yes certain players dont need to get this kind of money but a few of the very talented ones deserve it. I dont see this happening to a ton of young players, but the new faces of the game will reap the benefit.
