  1. IF Brittle Ben had pitched well when CC was here maybe the Brewers would have won the division, but he failed to produce good outings time after time. Yes I might be the biggest Sheet hater on this board and glad to see he is moving in a different direction. Let some other team deal with him and his injuries. Maybe it was bad mojo or something but Ben Sheets was never going to reach the heights that he should have in Brew Town. Melvin will find away to get an arm or two in before the season starts Yo and Parra at this point are the arms that will lead the Brewers future and I feel they are ready to handle it.
  2. Really looks like no one is a winner in this trade. Melvin did what he thought was right and as the seasons go by it looks like the Inman is far from the guy that a lot of people thought he was. He needs to rebound next year or he will be looking at being a long time minor leaguer.
  3. WI on a third offense I believe they are required to take a blood sample.
  4. John you are turning into the Grinch. We have not even reached the end of the year and you are complaining about what the team is going to be in 2009. There is a lot of off-season and spring training to make moves to improve this team. This not a sport that a player has to learn plays to be a major force for the team. Hitting and Pitching are the same no matter what team you are on. Cameron would have gotten more on the open markter than 10 mil. Yes there is a lot of old OFers out there, but very few of them can play CF. Complain all about the Ks and what you think he is missing as a player, but Cameron is the best option out there to play CF for the Brewers. I dont recall a lot of Jenks supporters crying about all his Ks the last two years he robbed the Brewers of money. But then again he came up in the farm system while Cameron came here as an outsider.
  5. Or could be me as I feel he stole money from the Brewers. But then again I'm the biggest Sheets hater on this site.
  6. Garland for the upper end of the starting staff.
  7. Y. Escobar wasn't the piece holding up the Peavy deal it was the pitching prospects Atlanta didn't want to part with which was holding up the deal. What about Francoeur, and James for Hart and Dillard. The Brewers then could send Francoeur to the Royals for DeJesus and a relief pitcher thus allowing the Brewers to send Cameron for some pitching and either signing Dunn or Burrell. I want no part of Dejesus, and dont understand the love for him on this board. He is a slightly better version of Gwynn JR. Good speed, light arm and marginal stick.
  8. Julio is a human gas can and I dont think this will work out. I would rather see human gas can Alfonso Alfonseco get signed by us. Man with 6 fingers and who had mumps is a better story.
  9. Signing Sheets to any kind of deal is going to be like getting a lump of coal in our stocking. Cameron needs to kept around as there will be no better defensive OFer out there for the Brewers to get. His bat over the course of the season is fine. He will go hot or cold like the rest of the players in MLB. I would say a solid #1 or #2 SP needs to be signed to help out Yo and Parra. C-Vill and Hall could be traded in my mind for another 3B or some pitching help. C-Vill is always goint to be a guy in the pen and Hall has reached his peak and time to move on.
  10. Hardy makes all the plays that need to be made just because he is not flashy people want to view him as not having range. Hope Randolph doesn't decide under mind Macha if the team hits the skids during the season. I love the Castro hiring, think he can do a good job with the pitchers.
  11. I would not deal Cameron for Melky and Kennedy. Cameron is one of the best overall CFers in the game and it is a huge dropoff when he is replaced by Melky. Kennedy is no better than a 5th starter, he has become bigger and better than he is because of the Yankee publicitty machine. If without bringing back CC would like the Brewers to keep Cameron as there is no one that can replace him unless Melvin goes out and makes a big trade for one. Comments that Gwynn is same as Melky are just some homers thar are over valueing Brewer prospects. Melky is a better all around OFer since he has a better arm than Gwynn. When the slap hitting Gwynn leaves the system it will be a good day for him and the fan base.
  12. Brittle Ben will show up and the Stros will have wasted a ton of money on a player that will never play enough to help the team get over the hump You mean like how he helped the 2008 Brewers 'get over the hump'? The concept that a player is or isn't 'out there when you need him' is silly, largely because "when" is completely arbitrary & basically means, 'whenever the fans think'. Brittle Ben was a below average pitcher in the second half of the season. How did he help them over the hump?? After July 29 he had 3 wins and two of those games were shutous and the third was a 12-0 win. In his other starts after this his ERA was almost 6, those are close to Suppan numbers. We all know how much of a beating Suppan takes on this website for him not being able to get it done. Sure Sheets pitched when early for the team and got them wins, but when the team started to struggle the ace was suppose to stop loosing streaks. Sheets was not doing it, and once CC was there he was suppose help put together winning streaks, this also did not happen. Injury prone is being hurt over a period time, major or non-major injuries. Paul Molitor was labeled this in his career, he always seem to get hurt and non of his injuries were major. Pauly lasted a long time as he became a DH and his body then held up.
  13. Brittle Ben will show up and the Stros will have wasted a ton of money on a player that will never play enough to help the team get over the hump. Ender I do dislike Sheets. I preached it all seaso long when the team needed him the most he would not be there for his teammates. Yes once again he got injured and was not there at the end of the season when they needed him. He tried to gut out a game, but that surely turned out horrible. Sheets has a ton of talent, but he is missing something that will keep him from really reaching that level. He has injuries every season and really lacks the killer attitude needed. Once CC came over he should have stepped it up to make it two great top guys going for the Brewers, no he goes into a swoon and let the team almost miss the playoffs. Keep bring up those great seasons and numbers of the past when this team had talent around him, he could not get the job done.
  14. Nolasco has had some injury history, but a lot of teams out there would love to add an arm like his to the staff. Not sure he will ever be an ace but he sure could be a #2 for a long time on a conteder. Brewers go get him would be great because he would be a top end of the rotation, I just dont see a good match with them. Not sure who the Cubs would be giving up to get a guy like Nolasco. Pie is not a player I see the Marlins wanting as they have young OFers. Maybe they could send some younger arms over to the Marlins to get him.
  15. Brittle Ben will not be wearing a Brewer uniform nect year. I hope he goes to Hou for next season, they could use a top end guy like that to waste away on the bench.
  16. Jenks proved that his career is winding down with another poor season by him. I'm rooting for the Rays to beat the Phillies and for Gross to get the ring over Jenks. I wonder if the Brewers could get all of Jenks playoff money to recoup some of the money he stole from the team over his time in a Brewer uniform.
  17. I can see the Tigers having a lot of interest in Hardy. The biggest problem on that team is the defense not the pitching. :Last year they had a bunch of guys running aroung with frying pans for gloves or slow foot guys not covering ground. Hardy would solve a lot of their problems at SS and they would still have a good bat in the lineup if they got him. Verlander would be a starting point for the Brewers with Hardy and a young arm involved. I would send C-Vill to get that job done without blinking.
  18. I dont CC coming back to the Brewers even with all the wonderful talk from both sides. Prince is the guy to move in a trade to get back a high end young pitcher. Fielder is regressing already at first, take into the aspect of his all or nothing at bats and he is the first guy we should ship out of town. Gamel should be a decent guy at 1B next year and to grow over the years. As he is a better athlete and should make the defense better, to make up for the loss of power compared to Prince. But he may at some better at bats by putting the ball in play more and not just striking out while trying to hit a home run every time up.
  19. Mark A has come in to move some things along as an owner but for the most part he has let Melvin do his job and let him be. Mark A opening the door to move Yost out was a great move. He needed to be moved since the team was proving once again that Yost was good for having a bad last month of the season. You add in the games that his poor management cost the team this year and they might have had a chance at the division come the last week.
  20. Weeks I think could be on the trading block this offseason. He has struggles so much and the team could find themselves a 2B that could bet on base and play solid D. Cameron is not going anywhere this offseason. He put up numbers close to his career avg, I dont know what some people thought Brewers were getting with him, but he did what he was suppose to do. Dejesus or Gwynn are not going to any kind of improvement over Cameron, they would actually regress the team. Those two players could add somethings to the club cheaper salaries, more weak ground outs, lot of time sitting on the bench with fast legs. Hart hopefully can comeback after a poor second half, and be good for all a whole season. He has a lot of potential to be a key cog in the lineup but he looked very lost during the second half of the season. If he would have played better maybe the Brewers would have more thought of moving him to CF and filling in RF with a new part.
  21. Well if he wasn't stealing money from the team it would be another story. Yes he had a couple of season that he should have had more wins when the team was not as good. Now there is a team around him and he is still can not get the job done. Today he could have came out gutted out 6 solid innings and pushed this team to the playoffs, but once again the early runs come off him and the team is in a whole. Brittle Ben is proving that he is not the big time pitcher that some think he is. Besides his physical breakdowns, IMO he still lacks the killer instincts when he gets on the mound. Shortly after CC got he stepped it up for a couple of starts but that faded away.
  22. Why would anyone think Brittle Ben is going to come through with a magical performance?? There was going to be runs scored on him in the first 3 innings and we have to hope the bats can come back and carry him so we are not even with the Mets.
  23. One game does not make up for the amount of games he has missed over his career with the Crew. I do hope he nuts up and gets the job done for the Brewers today. My gut tells me that Benny gives up some early runs today and Brewers can not get enough runs to over come it. The team has been on a run but today could be the little bump in the road that doesn't allow the Brewers to set itself up for the playoff run. I still think they will get in no matter what happens today.
  24. Brittle Ben has showed up again when the Brewers needed him the most. Some one call the WI State Patrol and arrest Brittle Ben he has robbed the Brewers fans time and time again with his weak body and stolen many dollars from Brewer Management. Brittle Ben please close the door when you leave just like long time crook Geoff "One White Hot Month" Jenkins.
  25. This is not top of the rotation numbers that made so many angry with last years trade. Looking like a 4th starter at best but still time is on his side. At this point Melvin has not lost on this trade.
