    In a very confusing, snarky way. Clearly the purpose of the thread is not to debate the merits of said charity event, but to inform the site membership. So no, it's not necessary to chime in with a complaint about how expensive it is. And I think you vastly underestimate the spending capabilities and priorities of middle class folks. You think everyone who shells out for box seats is rich? Who's buying the $300 authentic jerseys? (Hint: not those super rich people.) And charity events are usually priced higher than what you would normally pay. That's kind of the point.

    I think, to paraphrase Yost, he's just shaking things up for the heck of it, hoping that something will trigger more runs. In reality it will have little effect, so I don't really care much one way or the other. It's far more important that people like Bush be pitchers and not belly itchers.

    On the other hand, I send TH an email, noting the statements to the contrary from Florida, and here's his response: "I'll take Doug Melvin's word until proven otherwise. I told him about the brewerfan.net stuff and he told me it was fictitious." This whole thing is weird. Someone is doing some serious lying.

    "We have not met with anyone in Florida," said Melvin. "We've never discussed any of that." So which one is lying?

    Let me channel FJM here and say that I don't think they're losing because they don't have a "winning attitude". I think the culprit would be bad defense, bad pitching, and nonexistent hitting (outside of Braun).

    Well when you don't take service time into consideration, yeah that seems absurd. But that's how the system works, fair or not. You get your pay day when you're older. Really, it's not even worth the effort to be upset about your contract before you get to arby. If you're decent, your paydays are going to quickly (like, less than a year) outstrip any "slights" you received your first 3 years.

    It's a tad ironic that for all Turnbow's unhappiness about not being considered for both the closer and setup roles, if he'd done a decent job this year he very well could be closing right now..

    Ouch. It's unfortunate that some people are channeling their frustration into blame games. It's not going to heal his knee. I had a teammate tear an ACL in a basketball game and he finished the game without any trouble, and discovered later in much the same way that it was torn.

    Yeah, LitW was pretty bad. I didn't mind Village, but we'd guessed the twist fairly soon in. SS, Unbreakable, and Signs I all like.

    I'm just annoyed that Sayid of all people doesn't see through Ben's clear manipulation (read: murder). Or at least they chose to portray it that way, even if he does have suspicions about him. Seriously, after all he went through on the island, he just ups and works for Ben?

    Which 3 ideas? The 3 you listed together: Gagne-rhea, Yost Infection, JJ Herpes. Really? You look at those and think "Hey, let's put that on a shirt!"? To me it's just disgusting and inappropriate. I have no idea why you would want to associate Brewers with STDs.
