    I highly doubt either Inman or Garrison would be competing for a starting position next year, unless they move up to AAA later this year and dominate.

    I would be reluctant to trade for a pitcher who would almost certainly be gone at the end of the year? You thought the Linebrink trade was bad, that would be nothing (unless of course, it leads to a WS, then of course it's worth it). I think the fact that Doug didn't flat out deny he would trade Fielder is a clear indication that he's gone at least next year, if not earlier.

    JP's talking about it on the radio right now, he says that league had a rule in their manual where each player can change hands during the at bat one time. As he says (and I'd tend to agree), the batter should have to declare a side, and then the pitcher can do whatever he wants.

    Everyone always makes the "human element" argument until their team gets screwed by a call. Are you saying you'd rather be able to wax poetic about the beauty of human arbitration rather than win a World Series? It's about time. Calls should be made correctly. I don't care whether it's a machine or man that does it, and in baseball, it's usually pretty obvious what the right call is on replay.

    Not really, they just don't want to bump LaPorta until Huntsville's first half is over. After the break it would be surprising if things remained as they are (well, clearly there are lots of things that may happen when second halves begin).
