  1. Canha getting close to a 1.000 OPS for September. His BABIP is a wild .417.
  2. Yeah, that's a good point for all teams - the fact that multiple teams are going down to the wire means that they have to go all out to get in and can't set things up for their series with the Brewers.
  3. Although fans typically care way more than players, if the Brewers control whether the Cubs make the last WC or not I imagine the players wouldn't mind having a say in that. I think it helps that since it's the last series, they'll already be set to throw the regular back half of the rotation, so we should see Houser, Miley, and Rea/Teheran/whatever for as long as they can go. The trick will be we probably won't be using any of the top bullpen guys the last 1-2 games, so close games could be dicey.
  4. I made the same observation in the minor league thread. Pretty stark contrast.
  5. You must not have been around for the original stadium deal. :)
  6. Ok, so my response was a roundabout way of saying I disagree. Obviously the words he chose conveyed his intended meaning, which I think is quite different from my argument. "Players are overwhelmed by the moment" is pretty much the opposite of what I'm claiming.
  7. Interesting that they flipped to 100% already, but odds are different than actually clinching. In any case, highly unlikely to occur.
  8. Except, I mean, he's been really really bad. It's completely justified.
  9. I think the more correct way to say this is: It's a really small sample size and so any conclusion about postseason clutchness is probably a fool's errand.
  10. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that is not true. It is easily (mathematically) possible for the Brewers to overtake the Dodgers
  11. That's basically the function of the internet these days.
  12. That is in fact what happened today. He's on the IL and done for the year.
  13. I think the biggest advantage will be if we're able to rest the bullpen. I agree, you don't want to take a week off or anything, but if we can just throw Chafin out there 3 days in a row or whatever, that'll be nice.
  14. It's not as obtrusive as some others, I'm speaking more generally. You could say the same thing about maker's marks too, but the cumulative effect is the cluttering up of the uniform. If you look at pictures from a few decades ago it's pretty noticeable. It's also somewhat of a philosophical pushback on the pervasive plastering of advertising across every possible surface and eyeball. Anyway, it's an opinion, we can disagree.
  15. I'd still say any of the other 3 would be preferred over Arizona, but definitely more of a tossup if we know we would only face one of Gallen and Kelly the first 2 games.
  16. Welcome! I think they're going to prioritize rest and let the chips fall. It's still very possible to beat the Cubs while doing that.
  17. Yuck. But I hate uni advertising, it's not worth a couple million to me. Here's screenshots: https://uni-watch.com/2023/09/15/ewww-brewers-become-latest-mlb-team-with-sleeve-ad/
  18. I mean yes, I think they've demonstrated as much at this point :)
  19. Another game, another bunch of great pitching.
  20. .830 OPS last 4 weeks, .952 OPS last week.
  21. Wow, Taylor again coming up big.
