  1. Are you that high on Jarvis, or just the very fact that he traded for him made it a failure? He did have 3 hits yesterday, so apparently can hit.
  2. Counsell wouldn't need to resign for the Brewers to know that they'll need a new manager next year. He could just, you know, tell them.
  3. Let's not turn this into another interminable Hiura debate.
  4. Yeah, I agree with the latter. I don't think teams are trading veterans to save money (generally), the point is they're going to be free agents, and so you should get something for them, whatever that is. It's simple maximization of return.
  5. Between Wiemer, Frelick, Mitchell, and Chourio it's going to be a fun few years watching an elite OF take all sorts of hits away.
  6. Seems like Adames misses a lot of fastballs.
  7. Duh, that's right. Makes sense he's out today. Loud contact all over the place so far today.
  8. Frelick listed as day-to-day in the injury report on Gamecast - did he do something yesterday?
  9. You speak very definitively on things. Let's see what actually happens.
  10. This is in the Majors forum.
  11. If you're going to disagree, put some effort into into a reasoned factual response instead of just saying it's horrid.
  12. It proved that we can score runs against them, and would do poorly if our starters for the playoffs were Houser, Teheran, and Rea. And Rea could easily have gotten the win. That doesn't seem that predictive of what would happen in the playoffs? To be fair, that lineup is a monster and we weren't facing their good pitchers either, so this series means basically nothing.
  13. This is lazy. Being a fan of another team doesn't mean he can't write sound articles. Disagree constructively.
  14. What exactly are we going to use Strez for - pitching the last inning in a blowout?
  15. It's possible it's the opposite - they don't care about Brosseau and are happy to let him go, whereas they still see some potential with Hiura. Obviously at one point they were fine with other clubs taking his contract, but at this point in time, there still could be some hope that he does something in the majors again.
  16. Is this actually true? They DFAed him, no one else wanted him, and so he was outrighted to Nashville. Or you mean the fact that they signed him to begin with?
  17. Adames in July: .229/.301/.494. Still a pretty bad OBP, but it's not terrible. By far his best month.
  18. It's really tiresome how so many of your responses basically imply the poster is an idiot and you're there to set things straight. And the unnecessary personal shots. Love, Civility Police
  19. I remember it being either Green or Brantley. Anyway, this would be two CC trades' worth. Of course Ohtani would provide more value for his bat - you're trading for two superstar players that happen to inhabit one body. Take any major deadline trade for a superstar and double it. Would it be fun? Yes. Would it hurt? Absolutely.
