    You're right, and I'm not going to complain about Contreras being 2 instead of 3, but I don't understand why Frelick is sitting at 4 instead of 3 when he's a) better than Santana, and b) you could have L-R-L-R if he were at 3. Probably the answer is he's a rookie and Counsell wants a veteran at 3? At least that's the reasoning I can come up with.

    Boy you're making a huge leap that somehow his lack of a promotion is causing him to go 0-18.

    It's worth noting that on the broadcast last night when Martinez came up for the 3rd time they were showing how far he was lining up in the box. His right foot was clearly beyond the (no longer visible) back chalk line. Contreras either has to call him out on that or move back. I wonder if robots will remove the incentive for catches to creep up in the box, if indeed that is happening.

    Yeah, I don't know how you would come away with the impression that he's been bad. There have been multple plays that have been really solid.

    No, the criticism is you thinking a 2-4 night in AAA with some weakly hit balls has any particular relevance to whether he should be promoted or not. Ultimately there is very little that's new in the last many pages here. There are clearly reasons why the Brewers decided they don't view him as an option right now for DH. It would be nice if someone actually asked the Brewers what those reasons are so this could be put to bed.
