  1. When we walk, it's from Wisconsin. It's a quick walk, about 15 minutes. Even on opening day, when I gave my preferred parking pass away just to beat the crowds out of the park after the game. We had to park on 50something and Wells and we made it to the park in about 20 minutes.
  2. That may have some merit to it, but I specifically recall radio and newspaper articles calling out fans for not supporting the team in the midst of a pennant race and CBS sports game of the week broadcasters asking "where are the fans?" Anyhow, thanks for the link. What doesn't that site have?
  3. This weekend is going to be wild. I can't wait. Total sellouts all weekend. I'll guess 42,000+ Friday, 45,000 Saturday & 43,000 on Sunday. I'm not sure if we will pass the all time mark, but I'm willing to bet we make a run at this years high. The attendance has been fantastic this year. I was at the game last night and I was amazed by 36,000 on a Monday - with no bobble head promotion. I love the bobbleheads, but I'm glad to see people coming out to watch the team for the sake of watching good baseball. According to the Brewers, there will not be another game this year with a total attendance of under 30,000 (at least that was the word passed on by WSSP). If thats true that means we should push 2.7 million this year. As someone who spent lots of time frequenting County Stadium, I'm fully enjoying the Brewers success at the gate this year. I remember back in 1992, short of a career milestone game, we couldn't draw jack. What did we average that year, 22 or 23,000? I recall a September series against the Yankees (maybe?) when the club was only 4 games out and about 10 games over .500 and the crowds were in the teens. Uggg.
  4. Brain, if you go up a few rows the long tables give way to half circle tables. Each table seats four people, perfect for two couples. And I agree about keeping certain segment of movie goers out. Thats been the best part so far. I've been there three times and plan on making it a regular thing. I don't know how strictly they enforce this rule, but the website says "No Children". I actually took my son there to see Spiderman (before I read the website), granted it was a 5pm showing, but it's another thing that makes the Saturday night showings more attractive. There is also a small bar area that is off limits to anyone not seeing a show in the Palladium. Overall I give the place a thumbs up. You'll probably spend close to $75 - $100 on the tickets, drinks, food & tip (18% gratuity added plus whatever you leave) for two people. In addition to movies, the Palladium hosts comedy shows on a couple times a month.
  5. Thats the second highest total ever. Very nice. The Brewers have already sold out 5 games on the 10 game home stand that begins tonight. Things are about to get fun in Milwaukee! If the Crew keeps winning, this is going to be a very hard ticket to come by. Js Online article
  6. Yeah, I see a slight resemblance. I was completely shot down by my s.o. when I first mentioned it though.
  7. My favorite Seitzer moment had to be in about 1993 or so. He was signing at a card show. There was a girl in line ahead of me with a game bat that she wanted to get signed for her boyfriend. We get up to the front of the line and she hands him the bat and asks him to sign it. He takes one look at the bat and this look comes over his face that I can't describe. He pushed his chair back and says "Where did you get this?" and she says "it's my boyfriends, he loves you". Seitzer looks at the bat a few more seconds then looks back up at her and says. "Someone stole this bat from me." The girl starts laughing, thinking he's kidding but he wasn't. He says, "I'm serious, where did he get it from?" She turns bright red and you could tell she was completely embarrassed. He shakes his head and signs the bat anyway. How on earth he could tell that was a stolen bat I don't know, but I'll remember that forever. He was great, he signed my card and posed for a photo afterwards. Anyhow, sad to hear he's been axed. Good luck to him in the future.
  8. brewers.com still has $13 singles left.
  9. Kind of interesting, hopefully it will become a problem and a distraction in St Louis, though I doubt it will last more than a day or two. ESPN "Pujols angered at La Russa" SAN FRANCISCO -- Albert Pujols was angry about being left on the All-Star bench and the St. Louis slugger took aim at the National League manager -- who just happened to be Tony La Russa of his own Cardinals. "It's the All-Star Game. He can do what he wants," Pujols said Tuesday night. "He does whatever he wants. If I wasn't expecting to play, I wouldn't have come up here." Pujols, the NL MVP in 2005 and key to the Cardinals' win in the World Series last year, said La Russa didn't talk to him the entire game. Pujols could only watch when Aaron Rowand flied out with the bases loaded to end the American League's 5-4 win. "If he wants to get upset, he can get upset," La Russa said. "Whatever he wants to do, he can do. It's America. That wasn't the most important thing tonight."
  10. Yeah, that was a good day for me. I was able to snap that and a few other nice photos. I got to watch Cappy's first bullpen session after going on the DL. Yost, Maddux & the the training staff were all on hand. I saw a bullpen session by Ben Sheets (who gave my son a ball) and I got to watch Yo toss some in the pen as well. It was a fun day. I have an 8x10 photo of Sheets, Cappy & Miller. The photo is signed by both Chris & Damien...I wish I had that with me that day. Oh well.
  11. As of this moment, I am out of Harts. And this is the only Gallardo I have. http://gobrewersgo.com/yox10thumb.jpg
  12. Just announced, Matt Holliday.
  13. Any guesses as to who will be the last man added to tonights derby? I know Hardy said he wouldn't do it, but it seems MLB is scrambling to fill that last spot and he is on hand. His 18 hr's make him a legit choice. Personally, I hope he's not in it. Whether or not it "messes" with your swing, I can't see JJ doing very well in this kind of contest. I still think Bonds might step in and fill that last NL spot.
  14. I think you are correct. Didn't we play the Indians a few years ago and both teams wore the blue jerseys? I seem to remember thinking "well that's stupid". edit : add pic. http://espn-i.starwave.com/media/apphoto/ce240811-239b-43b0-b43d-644bf1a112a0.jpg
  15. I know, the whole time I was typing, I'm thinking..."thats not what he meant" Did I mention it's hot today?
  16. That rule applies in certain industries (the Writer's Guild of America comes to mind) but it can't possibly cross over into sports like that, can it? I can see how two actors (Screen Actors Guild), two writers (Writer's Guild of America) or two musicians (ASCAP) couldn't have the same name, but an athlete and a film producer? There is no official body governing the two. Surely there has been a professional athlete with the same name as a musician or film star. And, as far as I know, you can't posses rights (copyright) to a persons name. I know you can trademark a name, but that doesn't stop someone from using it. They just can't use it in a way that lessens the value of the trademark. It's hot and I'm sure I am over thinking this whole thing, sorry.
  17. I know Matt and his kids...they are real. That being said, you ain't getting jack from me! Seriously, I have a "the Admiral" bobble head. It's that skeleton thing...It's yours if you want it.
  18. FSN is already over there contractual agreement with the Brewers (Min. of 115 games). Plus I think they already added games this season pushing their total over 125.
  19. That third is most certainly Cooper. It's not a 0, it's the 5 from 15. I took a known photo of Cooper and cropped it so that you can only see the corner of it. It's easy to see how that could be confused with a 0. http://gobrewersgo.com/coop.jpg Here's the original i used. http://gobrewersgo.com/coops2.jpg
  20. Just something I thought I heard. Something along the lines of trying to avoid people lining up outside of the stadium at 5am and wanting to give everyone an equal chance at getting one. Sounds kind of like something someone might do. You know how sometimes for concerts they hand out lottery tickets to people in line, making your place in line irrelevant? That way the guy way back of the line still has a shot. I'm not saying I like it, I'm not saying it's true, It's just something that I thought I overheard, but was pretty sure I misunderstood. I asked because I know we have some knowledge around here.
  21. Very nice case, thanks for sharing. I agree, a mirrored case works perfectly. I want one (or two) of those.
  22. Bobble Head Guide (from BillyHallFan's Website) # 4/06/07 Charlie Moore (1980's Powder Blue Road Jersey) $41 # 4/20/07 Cecil Cooper (1980's Powder Blue Road Jersey) $32 # 5/04/07 Jim Gantner (1980's Powder Blue Road Jersey) $26 # 5/18/07 Paul Molitor (1980's Powder Blue Road Jersey) $27 # 6/01/07 Don Sutton (1980's Powder Blue Road Jersey) $25 # 6/22/07 Mike Caldwell (1980's Powder Blue Road Jersey) $25
  23. I heard the Prince bobble will be given away not at the gate, but to random fans during the game. Anyone able to confirm this?
  24. That!, would be a great idea.
