  1. Well truth be told, the Cubs have home field advantage in all 15 games. I hope that next year we (Brewer fans) buy and keep (thats the key) as many tickets as we can for our series against the Cubs. I can't wait until the day when Miller Park cheers for the home team when the Cubs are in town. I'll do my part next season, but this year I avoided MP each time the Cubs were here.
  2. All things being equal, I go for the futures bobble. No doubt about it. Unsigned, the futures usually goes for around $45, the other Sheets bobbles somewhere in the $20-$30 range. $80 is alot, but a Sheets signature is fairly hard to get. Put the price of a paid signing session and the bobble together and it might come close to $80. Hope this helps.
  3. From the mention of BF.net I heard, the impression I got, from the words and the tone of voice, made me think he was deflecting "blame" from the station to BF.net. I was ump'ing a game this afternoon, perhaps I heard the radio wrong. I did take a few fast balls to the dome during the game (darn little league catchers).
  4. I thought it was nice that the guys on WSSP blamed us for spreading this rumor. Some guy called in and asked "Can you guys tell me anything about this Adam Dunn rumor I'm hearing", and the host (don't know his name) said, "Some radio host in Cinny said something that the guys on Brewerfan.net ran with. There's nothing to it." Did I miss something? Didn't WSSP trumpet this as a done deal at the top of the noon hour?
  5. Teddy Higuera used to wear his jersey to the "Super Mercado" grocery store when he was shopping. I always thought that was hi-larious!
  6. Yeah that song is called "turning up the heat". I though you said that the song "Somethin's Brewin'" was used in the commercial. "Somethin's Brewin'" is a rap song.

  8. I got a Christmas card from Eric Owens and his girlfriend. Edited spelling
  9. I pretended to be Pat Listach's cousin for most of his rookie year.
  10. Thats wasn't Bones. That was Julio Machado.
  11. I find ESPN doesn't always let the facts get in the way of being the worldwide leader in sports. In their defense though, our offense is slumping (was before todays outburst). Maybe thats what they meant.
  12. Coincidence? Jim Powell is talking about the unusually timing of a organizational meeting this morning. Powell said Melvin & Co discussed "who to target". Could this be part of the start of this rumor? edit : Wow, I type slow.
  13. Why didn't you say Wayne Krivsky?
  14. Don't Tbow & Wise do everything together anyway. We've come to jokingly call them "Mr and Mrs Wise" at the park. Seriously, these two are connected at the hip. (I actually think is cool that they are such close friends.)
  15. Wait, Somethin's Brewin'... that is the rap song right? Thats not being used for any commercial by the Brewers. No way. Show me the proof.
  16. I will. And as long as the Brewers agree with me and at least try to protect what I perceive as an "investment" in a good evening of baseball, I'm happy. Anyhow, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. (And, yeah, I knew the bobblehead analogy didn't quite fit 100%, but oh well, I was all jacked up about going to the game.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif)
  17. You are so right. Cappy, if nothing else, takes care of the fans. If I had more time I'd post some of the great stories I have about him. He talks, poses for pic's ... he's great. Off to the game...
  18. I'm reading LF (JSOnline) http://www.jsonline.com/watch/?watch=2&date=7/18/2007&id=26617
  19. So, you and I both buy the same.... lets say, bobble head. You pay $85 for yours from a store. I pay $5 for mine from a guy on ebay. What happens to the value of your investment. Is it still "worth" $85? Say the guy on ebay sells 100 more for $5 each. What happens to the value of your investment. Is it still "worth" $85? And to be clear, he was a short guy and no, he didn't sit in my seat. And I didn't call an usher, I didn't "tell on him", it just bothered me.
  20. Weeks will be back in the line up tonight at 2nd base with (drum roll please) Tony Graffanino in LF. Hmm....I saw Mench taking groundballs at 2nd base the other day and Tony in the outfield but though nothing of it. Interesting.
  21. Thats good to hear. I remember thinking it was so cool to sneak into the "good seats" and that the people that got upset were just cranky old people. I guess I'm a cranky old person now (at 30).
  22. For the most part, as long as someone is signing, the usher will let you stand there for a second. Some ushers are really power tripping this year though. All the drama started because of the people rushing the front rows a few minutes before per game ceremonies. If you get there early enough you can still manage a few sigs though. Sunday, about an hour before the game Ned Yost signed for about 20 minutes, Tony Gwynn for about 5 minutes and Prince for about 30 seconds. All right to the left of the Brewers dugout. I've had front row field seats 3 or 4 times this year in the main bowl. Each time we got there early and each time someone stood near us, crowded our seats...whatever, trying to get a ball or an autograph before the game . Each time I just said to myself, "no big deal, as long as they move once the game starts". Hard hard is that? On the other hand, I'm one of those people that want ushers checking tickets. If I pay $85 to sit behind home plate, I sure as heck don't want some guy with a Uecker ticket sneaking his way down there. That happened earlier this year and I was kind of upset. Here I am dropping $170 to take an employee out to the game and some guy with a $5 terrace ticket comes sneaking his way down. I am probably in the minority here, but I'd like some protection for my investment. (I also realize I'm kind of playing both side of the fence here, but what ever.)
  23. Ahhh, but does that include the game he started at first base? I think they won that game as well.
  24. Guideline number 4 reads : - If you as individuals question an offer?s value, we would request that conversations be made via Private Message. Come on BHF, read the rules! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But to the original point, who cares what he asks, the market will set the price. Is anyone going to pay $100? Maybe, maybe not -probably not, (no) but why can't he ask. I didn't view his price as unreasonable. Unlikely? Yes (very), but not unreasonably high to the point where he broke any of the guidelines. If he asks for $1,000 then I know he's just wasting my time. But if he asks for $100 I look at it as a starting point. I know I can counter with $30 and we can barter from there. I was never a big fan of the "request that asking prices be kept reasonable" guideline. I understand the nature in which it was intended, but I just didn't see a need for it. The market will determine the price people are wiling to pay. Period. We're all capable of deciding what we're willing to pay/trade. Heck, a couple of people have already chimed in. Behold, the market place at work.
  25. And I'm guessing that if they don't follow baseball that much but still decided to buy tickets, they probably did it online. Which means that the Brewers would have send out a letter, like they always do, reminding people of a time change. Which again means they most likely purchased them online. Anyone who bought tickets online (prior to June 6th), anyone who used a credit card (at the box office) and all season ticket holders with tickets to the game got a letter regarding the time change. Anyone who bought tickets at the stadium for this game since the first week of June got tickets with the new and correct time on them. Signs have been posted at the ticket windows. It's been mentioned on Radio & TV. This will not be a big deal. No way do 5000 people show up hours later looking for a baseball game. There will probably be two or three people that make it in to one of the call in shows complaining about this. Then it will get all blown out of proportion. It happens about once a year. That place will be packed Saturday.
