  1. Ok, trust me, I'm a stat guy and not a "feel" guy. But this seriously is getting ridiculous. The Brewers are averaging 4.7 runs per game so far. I'd be scared to see how you guys would react to 4.3 runs per game. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  2. Estrada grounded out with the base loaded. No K or pop up. Is everyone happy?
  3. The way we're hitting, you can't blame them for sending him and taking the chance that the throw would be off. The throw would have had to end up in the stands.
  4. Assuming of course they stay out of the double play. Making those kind of assumptions, I guess I would prefer it as well then. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif The point is, the team is making weak outs when we have runners on base. This seemed to be a problem last year, I hope it doesn't become a trend this year as well. An out is an out is an out, expect an out that makes an additional out (double play). The Brewers batted .258 as a team last year. They batted .258 with runners on and .263 with runners in scoring position. Despite having the third worst overall BA, the Brewers led the league with a .283 BA in "close and late" situations. It seems like unless the Brewers bat 1.000 with runners on base, fans will remember all those wasted opportunities. Maybe it has nothing to do with not hitting with runners on but rather just having a better overall offense?
  5. Are ground outs better or something?
  6. It's hard for me to defend Yost when he puts up such insanely bad lineups.
  7. Yost must have a lot of money riding against the Brewers today because that lineup is laughable.
  8. Hall has just looked completely lost on any balls hit at him so far this year. Kind of surprising, considering he had a good spring out there.
  9. Historically, yes. But it's not impossible for Ben to develop a knack for being more of a contact pitcher. As long as they're not scoring, I'll be happy. Impossible? No. Likely? Not even close.
  10. I'm not worried about Ben's strikeout totals. As long as that ERA stays down, the K's will come. It's the K's that help keeps the ERA down, so that's bad news if his strike totals are some kind of new trend. WOW, Jenkins just crushed that pitch!
  11. You know the bench is screwed up when Jenkins is called on to pinch hit against a lefty. Cubs are imploding here.
  12. Bush humming along and Hart breaks up the perfect game and shutout. 12 outs to get 5 runs.
  13. Back to basics. No over the top, insanely unbelievable antics by Michael. Great episode.
  14. Anyone get the Hardball Times book this year? Last year's version was excellent but I haven't gotten around to getting this one. It has more studies and the like in it.
  15. I think Yost might try to keep Jenkins and Mench happy for as long as possible.... so I have to agree with Al here. I also could see Jenkins being traded by the all star break, so Gross may see some playing time freed up soon enough.
  16. So, I can't watch the third game of the season? This is bologna. How far south of GB would I have to drive to see this puppy? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  17. Well Woogie, I don't know how you create those graphics but I'd love to see OBP/SLG/OPS added http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  18. Here are ESPN Split's for Suppan vs. the Dodgers: LINK Only 5 Dodgers have more than 13 AB against Suppan and muchof them got those years ago in the AL. Am I really supposed to care if Nomahhhh hit Suppan up in 1998? Also, just looking at BA can be very misleading. Pierre has hit .297 against Suppan but only has a .618. Despite what LaRussa thinks, batter/pitcher splits rarely tells you very much with respect to expected future outcomes. Conversely, I'm worried about Schmidt because he's a good pitcher, not because of a handful of AB he's had against Brewer batters.

  20. Great to see Turnbow throw his off speed stuff for strikes. Can't just sit on those fastballs, fool!
  21. There's something wrong when the best option off the bench is Tony Jr. against a lefty.
  22. This Menchkins guy is pretty good.
