  1. Saying a pitcher tends to fall apart, 100% because of mental reasons, can be nearly factual (mechanical and mental can be interrelated). I don't know who they were referring to, but it would seem to me that the pitcher has a hurdle they need to overcome. I think he took offense to how it was said, not the idea behind it. Al says he doesn't mind if people point out he's heavier than some but would probably take offense to someone calling a "lazy fatty". It's the negative connotation. I don't know if I completely agree with Hunt's position (shouldn't be allowed) but I can appreciate why he feels the way he does. Also, I think Jamie has done an absolutely great job as PR directer but comments like this: "Don't post, and protect your fragile, flower like state by not even looking at the site." ... seems pretty darn disrespectful. Kettle, black, I know but I'm not the public relations guy.
  2. The Brewers have made it clear in the information they provided to us that we ALL can be removed for misconduct on the part of ONE person. I doubt we'll need to be concerned with that, but it's just a fair warning. Phrases that aren't allowed: * Ben Sheets is not an ace * Branyan and Ginter always sucked * There's no such thing as clutch hitters * Strike outs don't matter If we can all agree to these simple rules, I'm sure we can all have some fun! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  3. Inconsistancy comes with having a host of young players. What player hasn't been inconsistent the last couple of seasons? Lee is always held up as Mr dependable but he's no more consistent than anyone else. It's simply part of the game of baseball.
  4. Wasnt there already runners on 1st and 2nd? Wouldnt a walk put a runner on third with less than 2 outs? My bad. I got confused by 9th, where Yost facing Dunn in but intentionally walked Hatteburg. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif But the point is that contending teams take advantages of opportunities like we had today Probably more often but it's certainlynot an absolute. If you score 10 runs in a game, and 0 the next, that inconsistency costs you. I've been keeping track of the Brewers scoring distribution all year and they haven't really been any more inconsistent than expected. I'll teams do that from time to time.
  5. I am really suprised Yost didn't walk Dunn to set up the doubel play. I know he strikes out a lot but he has almost a 1.000 OPS! Respect.
  6. Villanueva is just dealing out there. Get some runs! How many threads will be made saying he's now our 2nd best pitcher? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  7. WE WANT WINNKYASS! WE WANT WINKYASS!
  8. http://www.norcalmovies.com/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas/thenightmare02.jpg Arroyo congratulating Dunn after his homerun
  9. Alright, now we have to lay off of Jenks for a couple of days. Sure you will http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  10. There ya go Jenks! Boooo! Jenkins sucks. Kill his children!! Crap. He got on?
  11. He most certainly had a good game. If you mean he had a good game considering he is a rookie who shouldn't even be in the majors and he was pitching against a great offense in a pitcher's park, I agree.
  12. Jackson was pretty easy to hit yesterday. 9 hits in 7 innings with 4 home runs is getting hit fairly well. He got the win, which means he had a good game. It's all about getting the "W".
  13. For being almost completely non-productive in a big RBI spot in the lineup? Jenkins has done just fine w/RISP position this year. Of course, that fact doesn't fit into the pitch fork mentality of some people on these boards so it get's ignored. Jenkins is obviously struggling right now. I just don't see the point in frothing at the mouth and making a million posts about it every time he makes an out. Time to take a step back and get some perspective.
  14. T-Bow has to make it interesting http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Nice win. Brewers are now 2-11 with their replacement pitchers!
  15. Yeah, those numbers were interesting but I'd love to see the really high-tech stuff they're doing with cameras and radar guns and stuff that measures the trajectory of the ball, the jump a fielder gets, and his speed tracking the ball. I don't think a lot of teams have that stuff yet http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  16. Lee also came through with a homerun and a sac-fly ...and the score being as it is, I think we would have just lost the game without those two plays. The point is to criticize Jenkins for the right things. Jenkins had a great year last year and still struck out 138 times. Adam Dunn leads the league in Ks and he's a great player. Jenkins is obviously struggling but do we need 10 posts about how much he SUXS every time he Ks?
  17. OMG!! JENKINS SUXS! DFA JENKINS! Lee grounds out on two pitches. WAY better AB. He's battling.
  18. I wish we (meaning Joe Public) had access to detailed play-by-play defensive data... it would be fascinating to look at the charts and crunch the numbers. Well, PMR uses detailed PBP data. According to that metric, he was pretty averagish. LINK He made almost 20 more outs than an "average" CF would have last year, which is pretty high. That doesn't seem to translate into a high number of runs saved, however.
  19. Doesn't change the fact that it would be nice to see him at least make contact in there and show that he's not completely lost at the plate. And I'm simply trying to make the distinction between what fans find entertaining (or not) and what actually is good for a team. It's not the same thing. Jenkins has always struck out a lot and always will.
  20. Well, Zack Jack's problem #1 has been duly noted -- he has a hell of a time trying to keep the ball in the ballpark. He's pitching against the team with the most HRs in the league, so let's not get too carried away.
  21. Yost should definately keep Jackson in there until he completely falls apart.
  22. Well, I guess we'll have to be happy when Jenks is 0-2 with 2 K's and 2 walks. There were no runners on during either of his Ks, so an out is an out in that situation.
  23. Hope it's OK if I put this here: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7391/569/400/winprob612.gif
  24. What do we have, like 14 sac flies this game? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  25. Now I'll wait for the numbers.... I already gave them to you and they are good.. Of course, if you want to criticize a guy for something, shouldn't you at least look them up first to make sure it's even true? I don't think there's any reason to have a guy who's slumping batting in a big RBI slot though. I would have no problem if he gets moved down. I just know it's not nearly as important as some think. The irony is that Jenkins has done well with runners on and in many clutch situations this year.
