  1. Jackson, please put an end to this: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7391/569/400/repl%20pitcher%20summary.gif 3 runs in 5 IP is all I ask.
  2. Well, Bush is a bit more of a groundball pitcher than Cap, so maybe we'll get to see what Cirillo is all about at SS tonight http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Nice play, Lee. That would have probably hit the top of the fence.
  3. Anyone? As long as Gross hits a home run in his absence every night, I am sure no one will.
  4. Excellent series preview as always, Bill. I especially appreciate you taking a slight poke at Haundricourts typically negative game summary from Monday. It's a perfect example of the stuff he's been writing for years and Milwaukee deserves better. He doesn't appear to have any appreciation for the actual impact the loss of Sheets and Ohka has had on the Brewers this year. Here's a summary of the 10 starts their replacements have made so far: http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7391/569/400/repl%20pitcher%20summary.gif As I wrote HERE, even a conservative estimate changes that 1-9 record in those games to 5-5 if Sheets and Ohka had started them. If that had been the case, the Brewers would be 31-27 and everyone would be praising them for their great start. As fate would have it, the injuries hit and they are probably lucky to be only 4 games under right now. Haundricourt needs to recognize what this team really is; a young, talented team battling some serious injuries.
  5. SS is way above Cirillo's head at this point of his career. This is one of the worse defensive infields I can possible imagine. All we are missing is 2004 Wes Helms.
  6. Thus begins Russ' new IGT tradition - hopefully one that is short lived. (I believe you posted nearly the same statement before Saturday's game.) The first time I posted that was for Eveland's last start. He did such a wonderful job that he was demoted to AAA about 5 minutes after the game ended. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif I tried again with Davis and he was kind enough to set Turnbow and the Crew up for a crushing come from ahead loss in the 9th. Third time's the charm, right? The Brewers simply have to win today and tomorrow. The reason is simple. I have tickets to Wed. game and need some motivation to drive the almost 3 hours to watch them. I know that it's Jackson's first major league start but if he's tasked with stopping a then 10 game skid...
  7. i was suprised gross came in as a defensive replacement. ned seems to like him more than he should I think Yost has fallen into the same trap as many fans do; He only seems to remember his first impression of Gross, when he was golfing homeruns every AB. Hart should be the first guy off the bench and the first option to replace a corner OFer against lefties. EDIT: What he said.
  8. San Diego: RHP Clay Hensley (4-3, 3.82 ERA) http://www.mobilebaybears.com/roster/Photos/Hensley.jpg MIL: LHP Chris Capuano (5-4, 3.33 ERA) http://www.kettleers.org/bios97/photos97/chriscapuano.gif MLB Game Preview ESPN Game Preview http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/7391/569/400/win%20prob605.gif Batman's Series Preview Capuano having a nice strong outing and the Crew getting the win could go a long way towards lifting the collective spirits of brewrefan.net nation.

  10. Welcome back to Miller Park, Brewer offense!
  11. I'm not sure if I like having a guy who had an OBP of 12 in May batting #2. Can't Clark bat there?
  12. Completely unecessary. Just a joke. Ha Ha.
  13. Now the Nationals are stealing signs at our own park! Bud really needs to be called about this!
  14. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a345/rluzinski/winprob602.gif Eveland having a nice strong outing and the Crew getting the win could go a long way towards lifting the collective spirits of brewrefan.net nation.
  15. Why bring up a topic that is long since passed? When I requested that people "stop calling Turnbow an elite closer" I didn't mean to insinuate that a new thread expressing that was being made every day. A significant group of individuals felt T-Bow was among the best at the end of the 2005 season and it's been one whole month since someone made a thread suggesting just that. I should simply assume that people have completely reversed their opinion on Turnbow after 30 days? As I said, if you're going to call people out and make generalizations, have proof first and don't make someone else look it up for you. If you never thought Turnbow was among the best closers in the game, my post doesn't concern you. I'm not looking to prove to you personally anything. If you thought or still think he is, I don't need to prove to you that you thought it or expressed it on these boards. You already know. And if you actually read that thread, it really doesn't help prove your point, FWIW. I disagree. EDIT: Can we like, disarm or something?
  16. Don't go calling out the board when you have no proof to back it up. Since I'm not looking to call out individual posters, why do I need "proof" anyway? The people who held that opinion know who they are and I simply wanted to point out that Turnbow has looked nothing like an elite closer in 2006. Why do I need to prove to them what opinion they expressed on this board? And there's the link you wanted, anyway. About 1 month ago (thanks Jason): Where does Turnbow rank? Since all the other threads that suggested Turnbow was elite (the ones you apparently have no recollection of) occured last year or right after he was resigned, they are obviously long gone. If that's not good enough for you, owell. If you didn't express that opinion than I wasn't talking to you anyway. If you think I fabricated it, you need to ask yourself what would motivate me to argue against an opinion that never existed.
  17. I have not seen that posted within the last month for sure. You don't say? I wonder why. When Turnbow was given his last contract it was debated about at great length. I find it hard to believe you have no recollection of anyone ever suggesting Turnbow was among the best closers in the game. I disagreed then and I obviously disagree now. I was involved in that conversation as well. If you want proof, tell ezboard to make their search function not suck.
  18. Someone explain to me how this season is going to be different from 2001 or 2004. Even with injuries, this team has more talent. If this team is ever going to get there, they have to stop looking for excuses and start playing winning smart baseball. Teams win games with talent, not attitude.
  19. Pitching to one of the hottest hitters in the league with first base open and a catcher hitting just above the Mendoza line on deck? Horrible, horrible managing. Many would argue that intentionally putting the winning runner on base is not smart baseball.
  20. I'd like to see where people were calling him an elite closer... You seriously have never seen anyone post that? Please. Reminds me a lot about Sheets, but he had two good years. But he is considered an ace. There is no comparison. None.
  21. Can people PLEASE stop calling Turnbow an elite closer? He isn't. He had one good season and his secondary stats weren't even that good. He's still a good closer but should not be mentioned among the closers who've proven themselves year in and year out. You have to earn that distinction and Turnbow hasn't.
  22. Bush's ERA below 5 again.. It's a start! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  23. With a lineup as weak as that, Ned really should've put Rickie somewhere other than the leadoff spot. Koskie and Jenkins both stink against lefties: Last 3 years vs. Lefties: Jenkins: .730 OPS Koskie: .647 OPS I would expect Cirillo and Hart to do much better against lefties than that. This is probably the best lineup available to Yost against lefties right now (ignoring Moeller, of course).
  24. I can't believe I watched the whole thing. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
