  1. I wouldn't necessarily say we're dependent on the long ball, at least not today. Today, we were dependent on that Achilles heel of ours, the base hit, and not giving up multiple home runs to Aubrey Huff.
  2. Bill Hall has been pretty useless lately for the last year and a half. It's a good thing we worked so hard to sign him to that contract after his career year...
  3. "Despite drawing ten walks, Brewers still fall to Aubrey Huff."
  4. Corey Hart is slumping madly. He's due.
  5. I totally spaced on the fact that we loaded the bases without swinging the bat. Then, of course, Prince has to swing at ball 2 and ball 3 before grounding out weakly.
  6. I can only follow on Gameday, but those mirror my thoughts exactly.
  7. Did anybody not expect this? Anyone? Bueller?
  8. I especially like the part where he says (I paraphrase), "They have Zambrano, and he's the man. He might be hurt, though. If so, that's not good for them." DRRRRR!
  9. This was a rough win, but we just pulled a sweep of a team with great pitching, at the same time that the Cards got swept (at Busch!) and the Cubs lost a series and, God willing, they might get swept tonight, too. This could be a banner week for the Brewers.
  10. Punch-out. Ball game. Save Torres. That was so unnecessary. Still a "W." I don't care about the rest.
  11. I would have walked to Toronto to punch Gritstein in the face if he'd broken up a no-no bid by the Brewers.
  12. Well, that makes eight innings pitched, one walk, two strikeouts, two hits, one earned run. That's not a bad outing right there. Now it's time for Ned to put in his schmuck-iest reliever (Tavarez would have been it two days ago) to get three outs in the ninth without giving up six runs. Did they really just put their closer in down 8-1 on the road? Huh?
  13. About an hour ago. Germany is up 2-1.
  14. About what? I don't think he has a hit today? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gifWith all this offense, you'd think that the guy who's 0-2 with a sac bunt and two ground-outs wouldn't get much coverage. Seriously.
  15. Think about it, if he'd come out running in that Twins extra-inning game, Prince could have had two inside-the-parkers in one season! Then Branyan proves that he has three dimensions to his game, and they are all True Outcomes. Ok, now this is just getting ridiculous. Gameday tells me that Jason Kendall almost hit that one out.
  16. I'm following on Gameday, and in the time it took me to check on the Twins score, Dave Bush had carved through the fifth inning! So far, we have good Dave Bush today.
  17. I'm not watching, so I can't hear what Brian Anderson has to say! http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif
  18. 3TO% goes up, too, as his other at-bat is a strike-out. This man is amazing. Home Run Derby. Russell Branyan. A natural fit.
  19. I cannot cheer for injuries, even for capital jerks like Zambrano, but this does help the Brewers. Hopefully they can make up some ground.
  20. Outside of the New York press, does anybody even think Cabrera's any good? I would really want Hughes as part of that package, though. Can you imagine Gallardo-Hughes as 1-2 for the next four to five years? I'm practically salivating.
  21. All he's done in the majors so far is a pretty good Corey Patterson impression.
  22. If you're arguing based on position, wouldn't it be better to sign him now, when he's just above league-average (for a RF), rather than way above league-average (for a CF). I think for Corey it'd be great to compare against center fielders, but for the Brewers it'd be better to compare against right fielders.
  23. Walk, passed ball, intentional walk, seeing eye single, hit by pitch... Sounds about right.
