  1. Sweet, Bill Hall's batting twice every trip through the lineup. Anyway, does Prior qualify as "frequently-shelled" by his two bad outings, or can we qualify him as "ace-caliber?" If it's the latter, bust out the cigars because it'll be a blow-out, but if it's the former, well, I get the feeling that your local bar or liquor store will be getting a little extra business tonight.
  2. That "GIDP" Moeller Game Log was telling - 8-18 with Bad Chad calling a game. How can one man be so Bad and still get starts? At least Blanco throws out runners. This is terrible. Frank Robinson would have cut Bad Chad mid-game and then cried about it, but Ned keeps giving him regular starts. Nobody wants him, and this is baseball, not charity. Get rid of him and call up a minor-leaguer. Edit: that was a counting mistake of Bad Chad proportions. Now I'm embarrassedhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/embarassed.gif
  3. Umm, woogie, the Tigers are the best team in baseball right now, by a good margin. I know that we gave up those errors in that first game, but we then didn't score runs. They're also the best team in baseball. Anyway, with a Fielder K and a Koskie walk, I predict a Moeller GIDP. I hate you, Bad Chad.
  4. Grr, Danny, grr... Danny Kolb, making things interesting since August of '04.
  5. Bill Hall has made an "In-play, run-scoring play!" My favorite words in baseball! And here I was predicting him to strike out...
  6. That's two batters now called out on strikes this inning. What do the announcers say? "Protect the plate"? Aha! "Expand the zone!"
  7. I would like to see some runs from the Brewers in the eighth, but I'll take 'em whenever we can. The earlier the better, so we don't have to burn through too many of our relievers - I get the feeling that we'll need them for the Reds series. Edit: I like seeing Corey Hart walking after going down 0-2. C'mon Rickie!
  8. Me, too. Dave, not really watching or posting since I said I was done with this game, so you must be imagining things.
  9. Ok, I'm done with this game. Good luck, Brewers.
  10. I think the game turns around, starting with this Gross at-bat. I've got a feeling.
  11. I have that sinking feeling that this is going to continue going badly. Gameday is giving me the impression that the Brewers haven't been getting good contact on the ball, and having two base-runners through the fourth is kind of ridiculous. Hopefully we turn it around because Houston is getting comfortably handled by Detroit, and we could both get above .500 and take a hold on third place in the Central, with eyes looking upward.
  12. Let's go, Crew! The Zambrano game is the only one that I'm really worried about. If they can get some runs early, though, I think Zambrano's brain will explode and we'll do alright.
  13. He also gets strikes out of the zone. I logged on late to see that he got Rickie Weeks and Bill Hall on successive (called) strike-outs. Funny that. Hitters have to chase balls out of the zone because Maddux's strike zone extends a few extra inches on the bottom half.
  14. Bush had this to say about the Royals: I can't stop laughing about it.
  15. One man left, Brandon Inge, who is already wearing a Golden Sombrero. Give him the heat.
  16. Yeah, remember when I said scoring an extra run would be nice? I guess by that I meant that I wanted the next three batters to pop out. That's cool, too.
  17. I love lead-off hits. If we can knock in just one run, I'll be happy. Why is Ball Hall bunting? For some reason, I imagine him being more successful swinging the bat.
  18. This is awfully stressful. Edit: K for Latin Cappi!! Yeay! I can breathe again. One of these days, we're going to have a one-run lead or a tie game, Ned's going to put in the bullpen, and they'll go through an inning, all I ask is one, without putting guys in scoring position.
  19. Take the second one - if Bad Chad could eat pitches, I'd at least call him Sub-Par Chad or something like that.
  20. Wait, what? Craig "Mr. Double" Monroe? How do you get hurt standing at second base?
  21. Oh no. I don't think I want to know what an injury delay between pitches means. Is anybody listening?
  22. Back to the game, we get two guys on base successively with no outs. Bill! (clap clap clap clap) Hall! (clap clap clap clap) We get a run back. We've also yet to see a walk in the game. Odd. Edit: we also hadn't seen a DP yet this game. Hart solved that one for us.
  23. I love sticking it in the face of a pitcher by stealing two pitches after a pick-off attempt. Now we have two batters to get him in - granted, one of them is Bad Chad. It is Time, Bad Chad, for your Second Single of the month.
  24. Five-pitch inning. Cappy coming back with a vengeance.
  25. I am amused by the dichotomy of these two teams with those runners in scoring position. The Tigers, with a lead-off double, give up two outs before they get an RBI double, and the pitcher singles in a run. The Brewers have men on first and second with one out, and the pitcher K's on a foul bunt and then we have a two-pitch fly-out to left. Hopefully we don't leave too many chances like that on the table. Correction: I'm also frustrated by the dichotomy.
