  1. I've got work to do all afternoon, so I'll be missing the game. All I will say is this. AVOID THE SWEEP!!!
  2. I thought the thread title was our strategy. Throw a whole bunch of money to bullpen pitchers....at least it's better than throwing retreads, has-beens and never-was types out there.....er..... maybe not.
  3. Really??? No way!!! I thought he was a total lock for coach of the year!! Next thing you're going to tell me, that hall of fame coach Isaiah Thomas is in jeopardy of losing his gig, too!
  4. I was just going to say that! We know what we have in Sheets. Granted, he's had some injuries, but when healthy, he's an ace. Yo has the potential to be a #1 as well, and Parra has some great stuff. Imagine in 2-3 years facing a rotation of Sheets, Yo, Parra, possibly Jeffress, and Villanueva?? Even throwing the first 4 out there in the postseason is a tough foursome to face. To me, it's worth it to resign Sheets.
  5. This thought excites me and scares me at the same time. I'll explain. It excites me because the last time Herb committed to good GM work and good coaching, the Bucks made it into the playoffs quite consistently. The scary part is after the good GM work and coaching, we've had the last 8 years of basketball. I'm hoping Herb sticks with Hammond, gives him the tools and Hammond picks a solid coach and lets him do his thing.
  6. Welcome Back Kapler Sweet Jason Kendall Bill Hill= God Yo Adrienne!! That's all I got for now
  7. Back in '87 as a 9 year old, I was in the Rob Deer fan club. I thought he was the most awesomest ever. Then he left the Brewers and I hated him. Previous to that, I went and got Ed Romero's autograph at the J.C. Penny's in Janesville and thought he was the most awesomest utility infielder ever. Then he was traded to Boston and I hated him. Down the road, I thought Greg Vaughn was the coolest, and then I was at the game when they announced he was traded. I pretty much cried. Now, my Brewer love is a bit less irrational, but there are still guys I love.
  8. It sucks that I won't be able to see this game. Even if I could, I couldn't, as it seems like many Saturday Brewer game will be blacked out on Extra Innings. While listening to Dave Ramsey tell me what to do with my money this afternoon, I will be pulling for the Crew.
  9. Shipley's Donuts
  10. Having my quad tighten up on me about the first play out in the field of softball and gutting it out the whole game...it REALLY hurts now. GRRR.
  11. 2 years ago, we needed a new fridge....had no money, but ended up getting a credit card with Home Depot. 0% for 6 months and we got it paid off. Same thing when we needed a new dryer. That's probably the best way to go, but good luck negotiating!!
  12. Nooner today, gotta love it! I'll actually get to catch a portion of the game. Even though Harangutang has pitched well vs. the Crew, he didn't win last year. He's not clutch at all.
  13. Amen on Narnia and Passion....as a believer, those are powerful to me. I bawled like a baby the first time I saw The Passion. For very personal reasons, but those were quite impactful.
  14. Having too much to do and not enough time to get it done in.
  15. At first, I"m thinking it was Rickie for DAVE Roberts....I would say no way...and for BRIAN Roberts, I'd still keep Rickie.
  16. I am currently having a cup from the french press. It's not too bad, and at least it would save us the cost of having to buy a new coffee maker. So I guess I'll make do with that for now.
  17. My wife has one....it's OK....I might try it in the meantime.
  18. Just get the whole team LASIK. Come on, it works for Kendall....why not everyone else?
  19. My wife went through this when she was in college. She works with high school and middle school youth and she thinks that it is harder to go through a divorce when there are more memories of the marriage. I think that makes sense. If you're 6, you have less images of you parents married than if you're 20. I'm sorry to hear about it, and I agree to give them their space and don't try to tell them what they should or shouldn't do.
  20. So I have this programmable Mr. Coffee coffeemaker and I finished my last cup from yesterday, grind my coffee beans, put the water in, turn it on....and nothing happens. Not only am I quite grouchy because I haven't had my usual gallon of coffee, I've had the stupid coffeemaker for about 3 months. I've resorted to freeze-dried Tasters' Choice. Yuck. Anyway, does anyone have any recommendations on a good, inexpensive (under $50) coffeemaker? Thank you.
  21. When I get up in the morning, I check personal e-mail, work e-mail, facebook, then BF.net. I love this site. Second best find of my life (my wife is #1).
  22. My wife has gone to Brewer games with me and has enjoyed herself in watching baseball with me. She's even allowed me to get the Directv Extra Innings package. However, she said last night, she was a bit concerned that with all the Brewer games, she may not see me. So she reminded me not to forget about her. I spent time with her from the time I got home at 4, until when the game started and she was happy. It's all a matter of give and take.
  23. You are the weakest link.....goodbye. Seriously, that Reds lineup looks pretty tough, other than Paulie. This may be a tough game to watch.
  24. It wouldn't be blacked out for me living in Texas, would it? I got a little scared for a second.
