Davidson will be a tough game for the Badgers. I picked them to make it to the game vs. Wisconsin. If only I would have picked Western Kentucky. Oh well.

That totally is bad news. Not only for the Brewers and their pitching depth, but for Cappy who had a bad year last year, and I know I was really pulling for him to have a strong year. From every interview I've seen of him, I like the guy. He's a competitor and I hope he doesn't have to have another TJ surgery. That would not bode well for his future.

Probably Miggy, Pujols, Howard, and Prince are about the only guys I would think about giving that big of a contract to. Young stud hitters who are on the verge of breaking out. I think it will be interesting over the next 10 or so years to see if, between those guys and ARod, someone breaks Aaron's, err.....Bonds's HR record. -
Now there's a name that makes me shudder in pain. Almost as good as Shawn Respert.

Up 10 with 7:17 in the first half....anyone still nervous? K-State looks like they're trying too hard and not letting the game come to them. Wisconsin looking strong.

I'm very surprised at that comment. I would think that if, according to Doug, Vinny has the potential to be a #1 catcher, what does that say about Palmisano, Salome and LuCroy, who have been specifically catchers throughout their career? Are they not as good? I haven't followed Vinny as much as I probably should, but this comment from Doug seems a bit unusual to me.

My brackets have been busted. I did a facebook one, and I missed 8 in the first round. I joined in the yahoo Brewerfan one and I missed 10 in the first round. In the Yahoo one, I was trying to pick a few more upsets that didn't happen, but as a fan, watching college hoops, yesterday was a very fun day. I'm going to attempt to watch most of the day, as I do have an event tonight and need to get to bed early, as I have to be up at about 4 am tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to exciting games, Wisconsin winning, and maybe Marquette playing tough.

I was born in Kansas, but grew up in Wisconsin. I love Wisconsin, and all of its charms, but I've always wanted to be a Texan. Growing up, we'd always travel down here to visit family (my mom is from Texas), and I was just in awe of how big the state was and how much stuff there was to do. Then the Christmas when I got engaged, my wife and her family and I went out on January 2nd, and went go-karting and playing around at this place outside of Austin. I was wearing shorts on January 2nd. That's what sold me on living here at some point in my life. So far, the last 2 months have been amazing. San Antonio is a beautiful city, and Texas is an amazing state.

Endaround beat me to it. If J.J. starts out on the DL, I'm not really wanting Nunez AND Counsell being the SS tandem/2B backup. If that's the case, I'd be OK with giving Escobar a chance. He couldn't be much worse that Counsnez. -
That was a call that could have gone either way, or been a no-call. I probably wouldn't have made a call.

Davidson is a good team. That makes me feel a bit better about potentially losing Drake and St. Mary's as picks to win. I'm hoping Drake can pull their game out, but it's not looking good.

Typically I have one good day in picking in the 1st round and one horrible day. My good day was yesterday. What then is today? If Davidson wins, I'm helped immensely. I've got them going to the Sweetness. As I type that, Stephan Curry hit a HUGE 3. He is amazing. His dad was an amazing shooter, and I think it's gotta be genetics. He's a freak when it comes to shooting the ball.

Since that was in response to what I said, let me defend. He's been hyped, yes, but when I've watched him play, I haven't been impressed. The D he played to give up that shot was remarkably stupid. I learned back in grade school, that if you're playing to win, you play smart D and don't gamble. That's not the first time I've seen him gamble on stupid plays. My opinion, overreaction or not.
