  1. This is the first year in a while that I've gotten excited about watching the playoffs. My 2 favorite teams, the Bucks and the Spurs are looking good and playing exciting ball! I don't know what I'd do if both somehow made it to the championship! That said, it's much more likely that the Spurs would make it, and if they win, I can go to the River parade! That would be a blast!
  2. Anyone remember Kevin Maas? I remember people hyping him many years ago....how did his career turn out?
  3. It really would be nice is there was some sort of organized boycott so that Mark A and the management would know that the fan base doesn't support throwing an awful pitcher out there every 5th day, giving the team not much of a chance to win. Not sure exactly what would be the best route, be it letters/e-mails or just not showing up on the home games when Soup attempts to not give up 20 runs in the 1st inning.
  4. That's a pretty deep Power 50. Shows how far the farm system has come!
  5. The one thing LaPorta could do great was hit. Not really a position for him. Great DH for the AL, I guess.
  6. Seriously, is this upside down day? Joe Morgan working for the Reds, Cra-Z moved to the bullpen? At least the Brewers won, so all is still right in the world.
  7. Isn't that a conflict of interest for him to be working for a MLB team and calling MLB games?
  8. Why? Why? Why? What's the logic in spending money on an over the hill lefty who no one wanted at his asking price in free agency, when you have 2 potential lefty starters in the bullpen in Narveson and Parra? I hope Davis turns it around, but if you jump ship on him, why bring in someone else? Or even bring up Estrada? In my estimation, anyone in our minor leagues is a better option than Washburn.
  9. As long as that Bill Hall contract doesn't equal Bill Hall performance after the contract, then we're good. I agree that's probably around what's being looked at, but if he stays healthy and keeps up what he did at the start of last season before getting hurt and this season so far, it's a bargain in my eyes.
  10. Agreed. A first baseman is a pretty replaceable position. But a 2nd baseman that hits and fields pretty well, and is improving, now that's something that you treasure!!
  11. I'm with FVBrewerfan. I hope that this is the season where tough decisions are made quickly. It seems to be the case, with the quick (and well-deserved) promotion of Lucroy to AAA. If you don't perform over a period of time, it's time for the next guy to step up and see if he can handle it. While DD is a notoriously slow starter, Suppan, I would hope, has a very short leash. Not only Parra and Narveson, but there are a few other guys in AAA (and AA for that matter) that should be given their shot. Same thing with Macha. If it becomes obvious he's lost the team, he's gotta go. But, time will tell. Not too much time, though.
  12. Oh come, on.....let's not DFA him, let's just trade him for someone else! And while we're at it, let's just trade all the guys who are underperforming for other guys. Let's get rid of Macha, bring someone else in, replace DM with someone else and have someone with more money buy the team from Mark A. Heck, while we're still at it, let's blow up Miller Park and get a better stadium!
  13. The only reason I'd want him anywhere near the Brewers is to hear Uke riff on his name. Uke's So Taguchi was awesome, and I'm sure he'd go to town.
  14. But, when playing in the postseason depends on how many wins you have, they do matter.
  15. I haven't heard Uke for the past 2 years, but I will say this. His voice was the voice of my childhood baseball memories. Easter Sunday, 1987 is a day seared into my mind. The call of Deer's homer and then Sveum's homer......magnificent! Everyone is going to decline sooner or later. I hope that he doesn't completely lose it before he realizes it's time.
  16. AMEN!!!
  17. It is very sad. I remember one of the times I flew on Midwest, there was something mechanical wrong with the plane we were supposed to take, so we took the plane that the Bucks took! Talk about leg room!! It was unbelievable! I loved flying on Midwest because I like the concept of getting from one place to another by flying, but I hate everything else that goes with it. Midwest took most of those hassles that I hate so much out of it. Lots of leg room, comfortable seats and of course, the cookies!
  18. So your wife thinks for you?
  19. His mullet is a thing of beauty. And wearing a jacket all the time? Fantastic!
